I wonder which side of Zambrano shows up tomorrow. He has been all over the map recently, and outside of his no-hitter, NOT in a good way.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3620877 Seems like he is in a bit of trouble here

And we have a Pablo sighting

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 06:30 PM) I figure I'll get a quicker response in this thread, but how's Burrell's back? He played today, did they remove him during the game?

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) My friend at work guaranteed Lee would hit into a double play in every game of the series. I hope nobody laid money against it

How many DPs has Lee grounded into this year? Jeez

You could hear a pin drop in Wrigley

LMAO, Im watching the intro to the Cubs game and Stockton starts off by saying "To say this isnt a big game would be an understudy."

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 03:47 PM) They got smashed? Blackholes have massive amounts of gravity, smashing everything that goes into them etc well, thats the laymans way of saying it. Im sure balta could be more technical about it

Lots of his impressions are better heard than seen. His Jim Rome impersonation is awesome unless you see him do it, and that goes the same for a good portion of his impressions. I used to listen to a lot of his stuff when I worked in radio 8 years ago, and I thought they were really good. but when i saw him do the impressions live, it really lost its luster

QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) He also had the incident with the medical staff in SF. This did not endear him to the support personnel either. Also as I've said before they boo him probably because they've met him. Has that ever been proven? I have heard about it, but I thought I read that nobody ever proved it happened

QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) I didn't have a problem with Reynolds either, but, then again, I was mostly paying attention to Soxtalk in between pitches. What did he say? I know he was gushing over Torii Hunter for one inning, but I don't think that constitutes a Twins bias. Also, Dick Stockton made a ton of mistakes. I take it baseball is not his primary sport? Or maybe he just had a few senior moments. The only thing that annoyed me was that the statlines showed nothing but batting average. Heaven forbid we can get HR and RBI, much less OBP and SLG. But overall, good broadcast. The pregame with Eck and Ripken was cool, and the whole presentation felt very crisp. Did anyone notice that midway through the game that Ripken said "It looked like it was gonna be a 9-8 ballgame at the start, but it is starting to look like a 1-0 game now"

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) That seems awfully low to me. Especially after watching the replay from the bat to the the spot it landed. It reminded me of Sosa hitting one over the camera in Atlanta -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) I'm going to get about 4000 points I think, and get the Internet, and a few N64 games on top of that. It was actually really easy to set-up my internet connection through my wireless network actually, so that was pleasing. The newer the game, the more space they take up. You arent going to be able to get a lot of N64 games Hopefully that Wii harddrive comes out soon, there are too many games I want to play

QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) d'ya think they just ran out of them and are running that one up as a current replacement?? all the other teams have the cap available. Plus the team was wearing that other one last night after they won

Wise had to have played himself out of a starting job in the last 2 weeks. If anything BA should get the start for the catch he made

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:54 AM) Exactly. I was listening to Steve Dahl this summer, and he was talking about the Cubs/Sox game he went to the day before at the Cell. During the 7th inning stretch, everyone stood up for "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." A Cub fan sitting in front of him turned to the guy next to him and said loudly, "I wonder where they got this idea?" That's my 1000th post. Three and a half years, and that's the best I could do. Well you are known for making the best of your posts, anyways. Quality over Quantity (you hear that, SS2K5? )

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:31 AM) I couldn't tell you, because I get gloriously beautiful TBS HD, and loved everything except Dick Stockton. Some of their camera cuts were really well done, great directly. Showing Ozzie freaking out in the dugout to bring his OF in and the next play shows that made the difference. The camera choice right after Thome connect on that bomb showing it headed deep into the dark, extremely late September night was amazing as well. Their on screen graphics should be adopted by everyone (seriously, how have our local broadcasts not picked up the box-score mentality of showing what players have done in previous at bats??) Well done, TBS. Dick Stockton was just awful, he didnt know the difference between a fastball, a slider, a curve and a changeup. He was calling EVERYTTHING a fastball.

AND THATS A CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!
Kyyle23 replied to kapkomet's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I still think the end of the season was so completely odd and random, I dont think any team will ever do it again. The Sox played every team in their division once, and the division was decided by inter-division play(The Indians and Royals beating up on the Sox and Twins, the Sox and Twins facing off against each other, after Detroit allowed the Sox a chance). And to just look at the schedule and to know that there was no days off? Wow Royals(3 games) Twins(3 games) Indians(3 games) Detroit(1 game) Twins(1 game) Thats just an insane end to the season, no matter how you cook it -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) The gun was definitely hot tonight, it had Blackburn at 92-94 and there is no way in hell he throws that hard. He was throwing that hard in the Metrodome too

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) he'll probably put up huge numbers and Bears fans will have something else to complain about. I dont worry about that. Not at all -

Danks was an ace tonite. Considering the situation, the numbers of many of the Twins against Danks, and the overall instensity of the night, Danks was a number 1 starter tonite. Honestly I have a good feeling going into the playoffs. -
