  1. QUOTE(juddling @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) I'm no expert on TNA or anything but i have caught a few shows lately and a couple things i've noticed is that the wrestlers seem to get no momentum after being thrown into the ropes. They almost seem too tight and you can't get any spring off of them. Some wrestlers look bad being thrown into the ropes and coming off almost walking into the next move. Also...Christian Rules!!!!! You blew a good thing WWE!!!!!!! I totally agree, all of the moves off of the ropes look forced whereas guys in the WWE at least look like they get a little spring off of the ropes.

QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) reruns already? LOL, I was just gonna post "Boo Reruns" Still a funny episode though, I like when Dwight and Michael ask Jim where to buy Gaydar
  3. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) That is my point. Who cares what his regular season stats are (2006) if you don't make it to the world series!!! Sirotka was still one of the Sox best players. Supposedly KW wasn't aware of the injury. Again, another statement supporting my argument. Same thing. When he traded Lee did he go? Yes. So he let him go. He didn't release him (I didn't say this). He didn't let him go via free agency (I didn't say this either). Everything you said made my argument stronger. You are for trading the MVP of the 2005 world series, and a MVP runner-up in 2006 because his value is high. Why? Why do you trade someone just because his value is high? Can KW replace his value in the lineup? Does he have someone waiting in the minors to replace him in RF? Lets say KW traded Dye after the World Series because his value was high, would the Sox even competed in 2006? Ordonez and Thomas were "let go" because of money and injury concerns, not because KW decided he didnt want them. Lee was traded because KW realized he needed to put money elsewhere(catcher, relief, left field, 2nd base), not because their value was high, which is your argument. If I would have said "KW let Thomas and Ordonez go because their value was high", then I would be strenghtening your argument. Right now the return package would have to be incredible for KW to consider moving Dye, and I dont know if there is anyone out there willing to make that deal.
  4. I think it is quite amazing that they both backed out of their debate schedules against each other. Its like both of them were like "I cannot handle the questions they are gonna ask me" and threw their hands up and decided to let their fates rest on their attack ads. It is very hard to see any sort of good that these two have done with all of the crap being thrown up on the wall.
  5. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) I know Dye had a great season last year but what are the odds of him repeating it? Remember that we won it all with Dye hitting 31 hrs and 89 rbi but we didn't make the playoffs with him hitting 44 hrs and 120 rbi. Why? Cause our pitching sucked and pitching wins. Yet, Jermaine Dye was the MVP of the World Series QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW is full of suprises. I remember he traded, what was probably our best pitcher at the time, Mike Sirotka. Do you even remember that? Sirotka was damaged goods, he never pitched in the bigs again. KW was blacklisted for a period of time after that happened. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW traded the most hard nosed players on a World Series team, Aaron Rowand. And KW ended up with the Comeback player of the year while Rowand broke his ankle. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) KW let three of the most talented players in Whitesox history (Ordonez, Thomas and Lee) go. Don't put it past him. He didnt let Lee go. He traded Lee for Podsednik and Vizcaino.
  6. Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon was putting together a nice career before heroin ended it prematurely
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Kevin Nash and the X-Division angle has had some good stuff. The first 6 star match and Hall may make an appearance. Watch below for the press conference. Meh, I remember watching that stuff out of Nash 8 years ago in the WCW. TNA is pulling the same schtick that WCW tried against WWE, without Ted Turner backing them. It is coming across as very unoriginal and lackluster. Besides, when is the last time Kevin Nash did something noteworthy in the ring? Has he even wrestled since the N.W.O. was ushered out the of the WWE? I know he has backed out of numerous matches in TNA due to injury since he has been there.
  8. Nick and Aaron Carter. In the ring. On Friday Night Smackdown. W. T. F!?!?!?!
  9. i have a feeling that Sweeney AND Fields are going to be tough to send down to AAA next year. Sweeney is a good looking player and he looked pretty confident in his approach to the game, I dont know if KW or Ozzie will be able to send him down for more seasoning if he is ready to contribute on a semi-regular basis. He could challenge BA for playing time and Ozzie can get away with his lefty-righty switches with Sweeney playing Center against righties instead of Mackowiak.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) She reminds me of the wife in King of Queen's (at least a bit). The girl looks like she needs sleep, serious bags under those eyes. And in real life, Pam is pretty hot herself. Jenna Fischer
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) Also best SC blooper clip ever of him losing it when they played Carl Lewis singing the National Anthem Agreed. Wasnt it Steiner and Bob Ley just laughing themselves to tears?
  12. This thread rules. Complete hilarity.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) The British version is indeed quality! I think Jim will end up hooking up with the Stamford chick, and Pam and Roy will get back together. They are doing a really good job of making Roy extremely likable this season. I havent even noticed Roy this season.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) One was also on network TV and the other wasn't. Honestly, does either matter? It wasnt as if we didnt know what Hernandez said within minutes of the broadcast. Everyone heard about it anyways.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) If Lyons were a more notable analyst this never would have happened. Fox probably has been looking for an excuse to remove him. Hell, considering how much time has elapsed since the initial comments, not ONE article had been written about the remarks. I doubt many were legitimately offended. Keith Hernandez, for example, was torn apart only hours after he criticized a woman's role in baseball. I think this is a great comparison. Hernandez was honestly offended about Calabrese's presence in the dugout and ranted about it in a very inappropriate fashion, and was able to retain his job. Lyons made a racially insensitive remark(which i dont condone in any way at all), and got fired almost before the broadcast was over. Why is offending the hispanic/spanish portion of the population a fire-able offense, but offending the entire female portion of the population gets you reprimanded? Strange set of rules in baseball broadcast booths.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 7, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Whatever happened to that guy, Jim, who used to post on here. Did some of the calmer, more reasonable posters leave town? fixed
  17. Can anyone give a rundown of what has already happened?
  18. I think this means that the Chicago media is going to be shouting for Torre to manage the Cubs. I dont look forward to that.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 7, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Scott Boras /thread Does that really matter though? Boras is already paid for this client for quite some time, it isnt as if he will be asking for a raise anytime soon(ha, a raise from 25 million a year). I dont know if Boras prevents clients from being traded to the White Sox, he just prevents them from signing or re-signing with the White Sox. And this isnt me saying I want A-rod, because I have honestly become disillusioned with A-rod in the past 2 years. Especially in the playoffs
  20. Supposedly Hastert had knowledge of Foley's tendencies 3 years prior to the recently dropped bombshell.
  21. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) What exactly did Konerko, Lee and Ordonez do in that series? I have to say that Konerko has more than made up for a poor 2000 playoff appearance.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) I think This one might be worse than that one. The people in the user comments trying to discredit Brian Ross are what get me. Who really cares that it was a republican that was outed. Who really cares that it is instant messages and not emails. The point of this whole situation is that a senator is getting away with being a pedophile in plain view of many people he worked with and in plain view of the public, and blaming it on alcoholism and behavioral issues. Take Foley out of his position as Senator, and put him in ANY other job in America and right now he would be sitting in a jail cell waiting to see a judge. This whole situation sickens me, the people spinning it sicken me.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) When you look at that 28 year old thirdbaseman's resume as you contemplate how much money he's worth to you and you see that he's had back surgery, no matter how minor it's still going to stick out that he's had to go under the knife due to his back. I agree with this, but the cat is out of the bag in regards to Joe needing surgery. I think it will either stick out that Joe had to go under the knife, or it will stick out that Joe needs to go under the knife. Either way, I think Joe's problematic back is going to cost him some dough in his next contract.
  24. He is on the score right now. He is gonna be cutting it close with ESPN1000
  25. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) anyone else feel like we did everything possible to let MN win the division this series by staring the bench? Granted we took the first two, and hats off to those guys for playing hard, but with the various quotes from MN players in the final month about keeping us out a priority, and the statements from Oz that the best team would take the field, I find it very disturbing he wouldn't do whatever is necessary to not let MN take the central on the closing day? understand Det shouldn't be giving up a 4 run 8th to KC, and our pitching gave up a whole bunch of weakass hits today, but our regular lineup could have done some real damage to Silva and it would have been a great final victory of morale to sweep our rival in the final series and stop them from winning the division. Or conversely do people feel like with the lackluster effort the starters were giving, our best team really is the bench? Even though we didnt sweep the Twins, we still stopped a rival from winning the division. Detroit must be really upset right now, they basically led the division wire to wire and lost it on the very last day, and now they have to face the Yankees as the away team.
