  1. I could have sworn that Williams said that he was going to retire before playing for another team
  2. How many times are they going to shove Cena vs Edge down our throats. Egads, time for another roster draft.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) Isaiah has to coach the Knicks. That should be punishment enough. Isiah created that team. the only people getting punished are the New York fans. Not that I feel bad for NY fans, but still. The currently constructed Knicks team is an expensive turd, NY fans know how bad this is and shouldnt have to face further punishment from Isiah instructing his team to play pick up basketball rules.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) 15 games, that's just ridiculous. Stern has lost it. You think this is excessive? Why?
  5. It is finally happening! This guy has been a sox-killer forever. Even with half an arm he would shut us down. Now if their entire bullpen would retire....
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) True, but 80s Marvel wasn't much better. All techicolor-y and ads for the newest candy or toy. (70s too.) This is true as well, but back in the 70's and 80's comic books were still pretty popular, so they could get away with the not-very-hidden advertisements. Their popularity started to dip in the 90's, to the point that Marvel was taking huge losses on their issues. Truth be told, the giant leap in digital technology and movie graphics has really refueled a sleeping comic book industry. Back in the day, only the big superheroes were getting the blockbusters and TV shows(Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Hulk), now there are niche comics (Hellboy, Domino) and Graphic Novels (Sin City) that are getting a shot, as well as the big-timers in Spiderman, Superman, and Batman getting make-overs. The great thing is that if you get the right director, one of the storylines such as the Secret Wars or the Infinity Gauntlet becomes a possiblity, which is really cool to a nerd such as myself. I fully expect Venom to get his own movie at some point, he is one of the more popular villains and he has the Karnage storyline to bring to light.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) Bomberman '93, Gunstar Heroes and Ice Hockey all work fine for me. Same with all the GCN games. LOL, I should have just asked you the question directly
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Secret Wars was such a amalgamated FUBAR that it would take 7 movies to get through just part of it. Most of the Spiderman storylines in the 90's had that problem. Too many storylines running through too many different books (the Amazing Spiderman, the incredible Spiderman, the Scarlett Spider, Spiderman). Same thing with the X-men storylines, they just got way out of whack and the editors had to reign in some of the schizophrenic storylines and bring it to a more basic approach. If I am not mistaken that is the reason that Marvel almost went under, they just had too many different issues and titles for the same characters, and not enough people buying them.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) Reading stories about how bad PS1 and PS2 games look on the PS3. Has anyone had any problems with the catalog of games available for the Wii? I really havent heard anything at all about the downloadable games.

    The Office

QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 17, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) oh man, when dwight starts telling the waitress how to kill the goose or whatever i was clutching my stomach crying laughing. "Whats the difference between what Pam is doing to Dwight, and what I just did to Dwight? Well, for one, what Pam is doing is a prank. What I am doing is, well, yeah its the same thing." - Jim, after he had Dwight explain to the waitress how to prepare a goose. The end scene with Dwight waiting for the helicopter in the parking lot with a duffel bag on his arm I was laughing my ass off, especially when he got the message "You have been compromised, abort mission! Destroy this phone immediately!" and Dwight turns around and throws his phone as far as he can. Priceless
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) Where's he going to play? DH-Sweeney 1B-Shealy OF's: Gathright, Dejesus, Sanders, Brown, and Mark Teahen. Isnt Teahen a 3B or 1B(when Sweeney isnt playing 1B)? I cannot recall him playing OF last year
  12. I like this trade actually. Freeing up a bench spot gives one of the kids (Sweeney, Owens, even Fields) a chance to really push Pods for the job in left or BA in center. And Sisco is almost unhittable when he is on, Cooper has done quite well so far rebuilding lefties. there is gonna be a lot of heat coming out of the pen this year.

    The Office

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) I guess I'm missing out, a few funny moments (marking the arm, Dwight asking to be in Jim's committee), but thought most of it was pretty dumb Yes, you are right, you must be missing out.
  14. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Nerd. LOL, this coming from the guy with the CTHULU 2008 bumper sticker
  15. There was a legal expert on ESPN this morning and he was saying that the NC Bar Association will be reviewing Nifong after this case is over. I think this guy let the fame get in the way of his better judgement.

    The Office

I have a feeling it was Jan on the other end of the phone. Mostly because he was so surprised that she said yes, and also because in the finale of last season she was planning on hooking up with him at the casino party and he brought Carol, his realtor(and real life wife). They are putting a nice little twist on the love triangle by making Pam and Karen friends, the party planning committee battle was pretty funny. "Double fudge brownies.......Angela, Double fudge brownies.........angela" lol
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Don't fret, if the White Sox are in the WS, I'm sure he will be in a suite sporting a White Sox hat. I'm pretty sure he grew up a Sox fan, but has no desire to play for the Sox. IIRC, the White Sox were a team on his no-trade list. This is not a bad thing. I think I could handle Floyd taking up valuable DL time on another team.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Ok Tex, as far as I know you're in luck, the state law in Texas helps you out, and the Previous Congress didn't get around to overturning this option in favor of the Credit Card companies as far as I know. In several states, including Texas, you have the right to call the 3 major credit companies and place an actual "Credit Freeze" on your account. If you do this, by law those companies will not be allowed to issue any credit in your name without actually speaking to you first. It will cost you like $8 per company I believe. In Texas, the law only lets you do this if you've been the victim of some sort of security breach (California, for example, anyone can do it regardless of the reason), but you may qualify after this incident. I believe you can find the information you need at this page. (includes phone numbers and links to the relevant statutes in Texas law, although it may be out of date) Hmm, I dont know about a credit "freeze". Equifax, Experian and TransUnion offer a Fraud alert for 90 days for anyone, and they monitor your credit and let you know if anyone is attempting to obtain credit in your name(and tell you which company so you can call them and stop the application), but the credit bureaus cannot actually stop anyone from getting credit because they are just a monitoring service. If you have proven CC fraud, they will monitor your credit for 7 years, but I deal with them everyday at Chase and I havent heard of any freeze. Who knows though, as soon as I hear one thing, they change it on me.
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) Anyone like the juxtaposition of the pitch black restaurant and the need for extra small condoms? Just trying to package the news for those that may need extra small condoms. Those condoms will be $3.99 plus tacks. Plus tacks, you mean tax?! That's to help them stay on Mr. Patel . . . LOL. He is here all day, folks. Please try the fish, and dont forget to tip your waitresses
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 09:10 AM) Linky NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Condoms designed to meet international size specifications are too big for many Indian men as their penises fall short of what manufacturers had anticipated, an Indian study has found. I bet every man of Indian descent in the world is wondering "Was a press release necassary for this? Did the rest of the world need to know this?"
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) B>W, do you know if the Nintendo DS is compatible with the Wii? If so, is there additional software required for the connection? I've really been thinking about purchasing a Wii as of late. Browsing through IGN's game catalog for Gamecube, there's a sizable amount of quality games. I figure the plan would be purchase Wii, then several of the following: -External Darkness -Resident Evil -Super Mario Sunshine -Metroid Prime -Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker -Metroid Prime 2 -Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time/ The Master Quest. -Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) Xbox360 and Playstation 3 are too expensive (in my opinion) right now, and since I own a Xbox and Playstation 2 already, I'll still have value left in the original consules. If Nintendo DS could play on Wii, that would really be the turning point. Dylan says Wii doesn't have many good games, although friends that have the system (and Gamespot) suggest otherwise. Eternal Darkness, is one heck of a mindtrip scary videogame. I dont want to let the cat out of the bag when it comes to your sanity meter going overboard, but I will warn you that some weird stuff starts happening. I own the game, and I love it. Really creepy storyline and the way it is presented is really cool. I definitely recommend that game.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) Why the green? Green? What green?
  23. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) HEY!?! Why is he wearing that Notre Dame jacket?!?! Thats absolutely preposterous!!!
  24. What ever happened to this man, the ultimate 80's powerhungry dork/a-hole? What ever happened to Roger Rabbit? What ever happened to Pop Rocks Gum? What ever happened to the Transformers(ie why oh why the years of computer generated cartoons where no one moved their mouths? The new movie by Michael Bay better rock.)
