  1. I wonder how Franks feels about getting 2 to 3 games a week with Mike Sweeney as opposed to Matt Stairs?
  2. Maybe the new york media should report on important things like Girardi banning candy in his own clubhouse(allegedly)
  3. QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Here's the video of the return of the Ultimate Warrior. It's pretty sad. Look how loose the NWE ring ropes are. They need better wrenches, or a stronger ring crew. Its sad, but that crowd was eating it up. I thought the ring was going to come down, that was a weak set-up
  4. How strange is it that two formerly dominant left-handers(Dontrelle Willis and Barry Zito)with very similar pitching motions and early-career results have fallen off their games so much? 5 years ago these two pitchers were the premier lefthanders in the game
  5. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Yes, and as we all know, the "Plank Road Brewery" is really SABMiller trying to fool people into thinking it's a micro. You are exactly right. The UV light passing through the green or clear glass and striking the beer produces a chemical called dimethyl sulfide (DMS). That is the skunky aroma and flavor compound in beer that is technically said to have been "lightstruck". Adjunct beer brewed with a significant amount of corn is particularly susceptible to the phenomenon, and in those cases th emall is very reminiscent of Green Giant niblets corn that has gone horribly wrong somewhere. No, it's light, not oxygen. Oxidized beer has a stale cardboard taste, not DMS. As to why High Life and MGD don't get lightstruck as often, I really think their handlers and drivers do a better job of not exposing the bottles to light. Interesting Miller trivia: MGD and Miller High Life are the exact same recipe formulation (and both are 4.7%), but High Life is heat pasteurized while MGD is microfiltered under refrigeration. So why does keg beer get skunky after the keg is tapped and left overnight? There is no light reaching the beer
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) Im not a scientist, but I believe part of the reason Rolling Rock gets skunky so easy is because it has a green glass bottle. Green glass supposedly does not reflect light as well as the darker brown. So why isnt MGD known for getting skunky quicker, since they have clear bottles? Or Miller High life? I didnt think it was light exposure, I thought it was exposure to air. Hmm, you learn something new every day
  7. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 07:50 AM) Red Dog was kinda the s*** when it first came out in the 90's. I think Tommy Lee Jones used to do their commercials and they had all those saying on the bottom of their caps. I remeber collecting those stupid things. Then that beer just fell into no mans land. Keystone Light is like a poor mans Miller Lite....My friends P's used to drink that...and when we would visit them down on their farm....we'd pound a s***load of it. It did the job. PBR is bad. Rolling Rock did the same thing. I used to love that beer, then it sucked. Dont they both come from the Latrobe brewery?
  8. I dont like the prospect of a college coach jumping to the NBA like this. It rarely works, and recently it has been one disaster after another. It seems the guys who pay their dues by working their way up as assistants in the NBA fare much better than the guys who jump straight to head coach
  9. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 02:00 AM) Another classic night. I would have to agree. The Soxtalk drinking game is slowly being created
  10. I dont know if I should vote on taste or pounding headache the next day. Im going to have to think about this My write-in is Stag beer. *shudder*

  16. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 06:51 AM) Is there any new information here? Seems to be the same story...Boras said he won't negotiate (he always brings his players to FA), but Crede says he loves Chicago and would stay (implied: for the right price). 20. QUOTE (Shadows @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) I was sent in a capsule from a place long from here and I came here for one reason: to attack and keep coming. Not to ask but just to give. Not to want but just to send...send the power of the Warrior down everybody's throat in the WWF till they become sick of it. Well you're gonna get sick of it because this freak of nature right here is just beginning to swell. And when I get big enough, brother, there ain't gonna be room for anybody else but me and all the Warriors floating through the veins, and the power of the Warriahhhhhh!! [sNORT] QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Okay, here goes: ....As it has been brought down from the highest mountains over the span of many years, my Warriors can understand that which leaves mere mortals perplexed. The question has been raised, and it is a legitimate question: Why, you ask, have I returned after so long? Time is an abstract, and in the greater scheme I have been around for longer than you could comprehend. The Ultimate Warrior has known many forms and permutations, and will know many more before the final day arrives. Worry not about your role in this saga, Orlando Jordan, for your fate has already been written unbeknownst to you. I have returned to lead my Warriors through the darkness and not you, Orlando Jordan, nor any other human can alter that. My Warriors are my lifeblood, my oxygen, my sustenance, and I am theirs. Alone we are weak, together we are an unstoppable force, and this force will go right through you, Orlando Jordan, and you are powerless in its presence. And when the tale has been told, when all victories have been recorded for future generations to ponder and debate, know this: the One Warrior Nation will reign supreme, and the chosen survivors will walk into the light alongside the ULTIMATE WARRRRRIIIIIIUUUHHHHHHRRRRRRR!!!!!!! [sNORT] You both meet and exceed my expectations. Bravo
