Isaiah getting ready to exit stage left 2007-2007 23-58* 2006-2007 33-49 2005-2006 23-59 (Larry Brown coached, Isiah put together) *one more game to go strange that he isnt used to being at the bottom, since that is exactly where he has been the past 3 years. Thats how he left the Raptors, and The Pacers were floundering when he left.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 11:44 AM) Fair enough. The fact that the D-backs parted ways with him so quickly is a red flag, IMO, but I'm really interested to see how he'll do over the course of a full season. So far, I'm impressed. They didnt part with him so quickly. Quentin was untouchable in that organization for 3 years, the only reason he was available this year was because their outfield is now loaded. I agree that the injury problem with him is worrisome, but Quentin tore up the minor leagues until he had nothing left to prove. When Borchard was in the minors, he didnt have anywhere near the numbers Carlos did.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 09:42 PM) Ryan Braun makes Adam Dunn look like a Gold Glover out there There was quite a discussion on boers and bernstein about the NL Central having the worst collection of defensive left fielders in the history of the game. Cincinatti- Adam Dunn Houston- Carlos Lee Cubs- Alfonso Soriano Pittsburgh- Jason Bay Milwaukee- Ryan Braun St Louis- Chris Duncan Other than Jason Bay, those are all converted infielders who really have no idea what is going on. Funny how they all ended up in the NL Central

QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) As a fan, I think an Age limit after the lottery would make most sense. At least they would not be preventing the Lebrons and Kobes from going pro. That would be chaos, there is no way the could quantify the Lebrons and Kobes. Some kids totally dominate high school and it doesnt translate to the pro game because they havent had quality competition (cough eddy curry cough).

QUOTE (the People's Champ @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) I would hardly say we were a juggernaut. We were only 1 game up on Cleveland who had a pretty stacked team, and we were 3 games behind the Yankees. Yeah we were a good team, but I don't think in anyway it would have been a cake walk through the playoffs. I watched every game that year. They defined stacked. Cleveland may have been upstarts, but the Sox could flex their will at any time.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) I think by basically forcing college on someone, is going against an individuals civil liberties as an adult. If you are old enough to lose your life in Iraq, you should be Old enough to play a simple sport (that is if you are good enough to get drafted.) College can wait for these guys. If they can get a guaranteed 6 figures, you sign and don't look back. Is the requirement 2 years in college? Or is it waiting 2 years after high school? I could see kids skipping school and going overseas to play

Does the NBA care about fundamentals though? And for that matter, will an extra year in college really teach better basketball fundamentals to a player? Some kids get it and work really hard at it and excel because of the work they put in, other kids are gifted athletes who play they want to play because they are that good. I like the fact that the NBA is encouraging kids to stay in college(for a little while at least), but I really dont think this changes the product on the floor all that much.

QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) With all of the extra innings games the Cubs have played this week, its like they have played a whole extra game without it counting. right now it is more than an extra game. 15 innings in the first game against pit, 13 innings in the second game, now they are in extras against the phils.

QUOTE (the People's Champ @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) Oh well back to back goose eggs for the team that's "going to score 1000 runs" is almost as good as a sweep! How about that? Almost as good as winning 5 out of 6 from the team that won the World Series in the offseason

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) picked up this nugget at the ever entertaining motowntigers.com Red Wings scored 43 goals in their first twelve games of the season. Tigers have scored 33 runs in their first twelve. Im sure there are a few gem quotes

QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) We should just trade Fields right now. or not. it will be interesting to see. Crede is THE MAN! funny how nobody wanted to trade for him. teams like the SF Giants are kicking themselves in the arse. Sure, lets trade Fields before Crede is signed or goes into Free Agency -

Has anyone noticed that some of the better 3rd baseman in the Sox organization in the past 18 years(namely Robin Ventura and Joe Crede) seem to come up aces whenever it comes to grand slams? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) I loved how patient Cabrera was against Moyer. However, why play Thome today? He's been struggling so much, he's struggled in his career against Rogers, and he's played in every game this year. Rogers too -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) I'm not extremely happy about his success at the plate either, but I'm just beginning to wonder.... When will Sox fans realize that their are two phases of the game for position players? Offense AND Defense. I for one, have been extremely pleased with the play at 2b from Juan thus far. He is our 9th hitter (except when Toby Hall plays, hah), not everyone in the lineup needs to be some OPS hog (although it would be ideal). I was actually wondering how the reaction would be if Richar or Ramirez came in and hit in the .250-.270 range, yet were miserable in the field. Last year Uribe was a liability to the extreme because the entire team wasnt hitting, and his overall defense was suffering as well. But with the team hitting well right now, and with Uribe providing great-stellar defense, I really dont have many complaints about snacks and cakes right now. He is even taking walks every once in a while -
Stoney new guy on the Score-somebody should tell the Sox

QUOTE (palehose23 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 11:39 AM) Finally they have fixed the problem Stoney is actually a member of the broadcasting team Well thats a good thing. If he wasnt, then they wasted all that money on advertisements all over the Cell and on the Score. -
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 11:31 AM) That bolded part doesn't even make any sense. Doesn't proving he has talent = what he does on the field? I don't care what "stuff" a guy might have, I'll take results over it everyday. You too, my friend, are missing the point. We all are. He has stuff, so pile the crow on a plate and start chowing down.
