  1. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) Early on, Steve made a comment that pot will not be legalized unless they're some sort of on-the-spot test like their is for alcohol, and I was pointing out examples of other things that impair your driving but for which there are no on-the-spot tests. I was talking about that line of thought, not what you said. Yeah, there are plenty of things that cannot be tested for immediately. In fact, alcohol seems to be in an exclusive group in terms of a breathalyzer
  2. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) Put the same warning on the pack/bag of pot. Lots and lots of things can make you too messed up to drive. Can they do breathalyser tests for sleeping pills? pain killers? cough medicine? I would agree if it became legal. At this point it is not, so im not going to continue to argue "well this is also/more dangerous, why isnt it illegal as well?" because it is pointless. I never said anything about a breathalyzer for pot, sleeping pills, pain killers, or cough medecine. I said you could be tested (blood, urine)for narcotics in your system at the time of arrest. You can be too wasted on over the counter stuff to drive. It doesnt happen all the time, but it does happen. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) Step back for a moment. Why are people taking cough medicine and why are they smoking pot? There is a difference in application which is probably relevant. Not too many are texting all their friends to take some Nyquil, but they are making invitations to get baked. Some kids do drink cough medicine for the "high" effect.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) So can Nyquil. Do they have a test for that? Sure, they can test you if you have a some sort of ephedrine in your system. And they put on the bottle "Do not drive or operate heavy machinery...."
  4. Geckos feet inspire high tech bandage I know its petty, but they dont even have a picture of a gecko, they have a picture of a bearded dragon. Im a stickler for this type of stuff because I used to own both a bearded dragon and a gecko, and they really dont look that much alike

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 09:05 AM) I also give Ang Lee props for the visual aspects of the first film. All I wanted was purple pants for the Hulk, and I got them! LOL, and there is that too. One of the things I am excited about in this movie is that there are rumors that this version of the Hulk is going to transition in future movies to the Gray Hulk. I dont know, every time I watch the scene in the new trailer of Hulk getting out of the ground and roaring, and charging Abomination, I think the movie is gonna be awesome.
  6. QUOTE(greg775 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:48 PM) Does Couch really do that? I don't check the site every day but it seems bad business to have 2 guys writing the same columns. Not saying you are wrong, just wondered if you had any examples to give me on Couch doing this. I really have enjoyed some of Greg's takes on the Bulls and Hawks. Unfortunately Couch has been called out a few times for re-hashing Mariotti's columns within the same week. The worst part about it is that Greg has written some very good articles on his own, he doesnt need to be Mariotti-Lite

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) Yeah, sort of. A sequel of the Ang Lee film was always planned, and it was going to be Grey Hulk, but then Marvel Studios decided to buy back the righst and do the next film themselves in a very different style. This film is supposed to have continuity with the first one, but Edward Norton's revised screenplay includes a lot of origin flashback so the film is going to be sort of a sequel/reboot hybrid. Supposedly this film will borrow heavily from the tone and style of the old TV series which I really didn't much care for when it came out. Hulk looks good in the trailer, but I dislike the updated abomination from what i can see in the trailer. I also see that Robert Downey is going to cameo in this film as Tony Stark,so having some actor continuity in the new slate of films will be good. I assume that means both Downy and Norton will reprise their roles for th Avengers film when it comes out. I didnt think the Abomination looked great, but all I ever wanted in a Hulk movie is a "Hulk Fight! Hulk Smash!" scene. Seeing them lock eyes and start charging each other was awesome, especially with the Hulk roar right before he charged. I dont expect the world of comic book movies, I want to be entertained and I dont want the character to be different than how I know him/her in the comics. I actually appreciated the Ang Lee version for his attempt at making it look like a comic. I just think he was misguided in presenting the story as a love story/ bruce banners father soap opera. But I thought Sam Elliott was great as the general and Jennifer Connelly is smokin hot and was great as the heartbroken love interest. Just not enough firepower to make it look like the Hulk had any problems dealing with the US army. Its going to be awesome seeing him go up against somethign as formidable as himself.
  8. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) It might not be their reason. They want to keep her small. But in this perverse world it's still something that needs to be considered.. Wow. You just keep em comin

  10. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 05:42 PM) I guess it all depends on how disabled this girl really is... It doesn't sound like she'd of had any reasonable quality of life anyway. And you wouldn't want to risk some sicko raping her and causing a pregnancy that would just turn out to be a disaster in everyway. However it they are only mildly retarded or physically disabled with no altering of mental function then I think that this would be totally the wrong thing to do. I do agree though that they opens up pandora's box though... And it can be dangerous in the wrong context. This isnt why they are stunting her growth. Not even close.

  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) What the hell would a field sobriety test be for detecting if you were high? See if you can finish a bag of cheetos? I know your angle, but people can be too wasted to drive. It is a drug, it can cause impairment, it can cause an accident.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong, but the results wouldn't come back quick enough for them to know. Plus, it would just say that you've been high in the past 30 days (or however long a urine test goes back), and wouldn't specify if you were high at the time of arrest. at that point the argument would probably shift to your behavior at the time of arrest, wouldnt it? People who refuse breathalyzers have to then argue against the police officers evidence of impairment (failure of field sobriety tests, erratic driving, smell of alcohol, etc.), why couldnt an officer present evidence of THC impairment? I dont know, to say that a breath test would prevent legalization seems like it is simplifying it too much.
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) Until they come up with a breathalyzer for pot, it won't happen. Need to be able to gauge the amount of high for driving just like we can gauge the amount of drunk for driving. You can refuse a breathalyzer and still get a DUI. You can still get a a urine test to find out if you are high
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 12:37 PM) Amen on the bolded. Although, I only HOPE your right about the turnover. However, I don't trust John Paxson, who overevaluates his own talent more than any GM I have ever seen, and could keep most of the roster even though he shouldn't. After listening to his comments after disciplining Duhon(say that 7 times fast), I have complete faith in Paxson cutting the fat from this team. He is pissed On a good note, did anyone notice the impact Thabo had on the lineup last night? I really think he is starting to find himself offensively and defensively now, his confidence is way up there.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) You summed up an entire Bulls sentence, with 100 percent accuracy and inclusion, in a matter of 3 sentences. Well done. Also, with your comments in mind, it's clear whoever the Bulls hire as coach needs to be a master motivator. Something as simple as a swift kick in the ass that gets them to play harder would make the Bulls significantly better. I must say I agree with all of this as well. I dont know that a master motivator will be completely necassary next year, as I think we are going to be seeing a lot more turnover on the roster than previously expected. Of the current roster, who do you really expect to be on the Bulls for the first game? I doubt we will see Duhon, Gordon, possibly Deng, Thomas has been in many rumors, as has Nocioni. The type of team assembled will determine the type of coach necessary IMO.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 07:56 AM) Final WALL-E trailer from Pixar. This looks incredible. Dreamworks cannot hold a candle to these guys. AMAZING...I can't wait. By the way, the live action film WALL-E is watching is a clip from the movie "Hello Dolly". Asked why he is watching that, the director said: "Because WALL-E has bad taste..." LOL Wall-E looks good, Im looking forward to bringing my daughter to the movie. Dreamworks is good, I like their stuff, but you are right about Pixar, they own the patent on great kids flicks
  19. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) This may hurt him more than ever, He was arguably the most over superstar currently and he does this again. Isnt he known for pulling stuff like this when he is over? Didnt he No-show a TNA event where he was part of the main event? I swear i remember reading that somewhere

  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Shall we start to list the posters here we could make that very same statement about, who also are negative constantly about the team? I guess I dont agree with the people on that list either. You have a right to be negative, sure, but on this site there is accountability that comes with negativity. Jay has no accountability now, and he never has. I have every right to be offended when he broadbrushes the entire organization and fanbase. At least when posters are negative about the Sox, they dont broadbrush every other poster together as mindless brawlers who cannot control themselves.
