  1. Last night there was a story on this on CNN, and they mentioned that there are over 200 bodies on Mt Everest. I wonder how many of them are openly visible? Seems pretty creepy to me.
  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:35 AM) Because you live in England? Or, maybe you are, like a Douglas Adams character, a rain god and the clouds simply want to be near you? LOL, Deploderer is the real life Ford Prefect, he is no rain god.
  3. QUOTE(Drew @ May 27, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Tongue-in-cheek acting which I think works for low-brow humor, writing could have been better (s***--full count. VO: Come up big in the clutch!...) And what kind of a director would allow Bronson Arroyo? fixed
  4. QUOTE(chisoxt @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:40 AM) Has anyone noticed that this is the third series in a row that the Sox have played in a dome? As long as I can remember, these monstrocities have always given us fits. Remember Minnesoata's Timmy Tuefel's fluke inside the park HR off of Richard Dotsun in the '80s ??? I look forward to the open-air of Cleveland. Third away series, yes. But the Sox just played 6 at home as well, so they shouldnt be getting cabin fever too bad.
  5. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Just another guy insisting that AJ is the cause of this confrontation. Baker is a worse flip flopper than Kerry.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:50 AM) Queens of the Stone Age.. thats the other band that I knew he played with. Didn't know that he did the drums for Nine Inch Nails though.. one wonders where he gets time for all of this I read that he did the tracks for the entire NIN album, and when i listened I could really tell. Very different from their past drummers
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:14 AM) David Grohl! I respect the hell out of his drumming, he's pretty damned good. Not really a fan of his vocalist/song writing stuff, but he was great with Nirvana on the drums (and various other bands; I think he played the drums for Probot, Tenacious D on a few songs, and some others) This is very true recently he did the drum tracks for Nine Inch Nails "With Teeth" and he has done the last two albums for Queens of the StoneAge as well. Dave Grohl keeps very busy, thats for sure
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) Gambit was the guy with the cards. He was very cool. And I personally find Paquin very attractive, but she doesn't have the sas that Rogue did have. I don't know if that's the writers fault or Paquin's. I know who Gambit was, and what his weapon of choice is. But he can charge anything and use it as a weapon, he just chooses playing cards. And the charge is usually drawn/colored in pink, for whatever wierd reason. And Paquin is cute, but she is no Rogue. Not even close.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 26, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) I'm still not happy that there's no Gambit in this movie. I haven't see it yet, though. One thing I'm glad about is that they have Beast in it. I dont know how I feel about a lack of Gambit. Gambit turns things pink and they fizzle and pop, right? (i kid I kid, I know he charges items and they explode) Rogue is basically phased out right now anyways, Wolverine and Jean Grey have become the focus of the series. Whats the point of bringing Gambit in to start a side story that probably wont be finished. Next time they pick an actress to play Rogue, it better be a sassy southern HOT chick. Because Paquin just aint cutting it
  10. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) Okay. Polanco plays SS and 3B too, correct? Kind of a super-utility type. I didnt know that. I thought their set infield guys ATH were Inge Guillen Polanco Shelton. But I dont pay attention to their everyday lineup that much, this is jsut what I thought they were going with
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) You guys have a good lineup. There's no question about it. But let's compare defense at the key positions (C, SS, CF, and to a lesser extent, 3B) C: Rodriguez vs. Pierzynski Rodriguez is obviously a better defender, but you can argue that AJ calls just as good of a game, if not better. SS: Uribe vs. Polanco Polanco is good, but he ain't no Uribe on defense. Juan is simply spectacular with the glove. He has a Top 3 arm out of the SS slot. CF: Anderson vs. Granderson Anderson is a Top 5 defensive CF right off of the bat. Have you seen this guy play? There is no contest between him and Granderson. 3B: Crede vs. Inge And you thought that they called Crede a poor man's Brooks Robinson just for the hell of it? You're looking at the best defensive third baseman in the majors. A f***ing monster with the glove. You can't overlook the key defensive positions in your analysis. These guys save runs on a daily basis. Don't worry, you'll soon find out what Sox fans already know. We have the best defensive team in baseball, with pitching representing the vast majority of defense. If you're a Pistons fan, perhaps you know a little something about it. It is Carlos Guillen vs Uribe, not Polanco. Polanco would go against Iguchi
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) I think the best one is the guy between O-face girl and your AJ look-alike. It's Bill Cowher. Someone pointed that out yesterday, and thought it was pretty good. Yeah, thats another good one. The two front row guys look like they are milliseconds away from yelling DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!"
  13. I swear, the guy standing next to O-face girl looks like AJ with a short haircut
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Interesting stat: Freddy has only walked one player in Toronto in the 6th inning when trailing by 4 runs or more with runners at the corners. LOL, where did you cherry pick that stat from?
  15. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 26, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) I'm probably the only one, but I never knew this site existed. http://mlbplayers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/pa/index.jsp wierd. its like they copied themselves
  16. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ May 26, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) can someone post the link of that article where Mariotti was OUTED for his flip flops http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_colum...ariottis_y.html
  17. QUOTE(indyman @ May 26, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) I don't know think it's fair. P.J. should not have a fine, and Barrett's 10 game is too light. With his history (almost starting a fight a few days before against S.D. ) I think he should have got 20 games. What's the difference between his punch and the Kermit Washington punch against Rudy T? Starting a fight with punches (not the usual "shove") should be way more. Well, Kermit Washington almost killed Rudy Tomjonavich with that punch, so thats one difference.
  18. Who have the Tigers recorded all of thier shutouts against? TEX(4/08) 7-0 CLE(4/16) 1-0 SEA(4/22) 2-0 MIN(4/28) 9-0 MIN(4/30) 1-0 CLE(5/13) 3-0 MIN(5/17) 2-0 CIN(5/21) 1-0 KC(5/22) 8-0
  19. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 26, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) I thought KC traded Dye and Caveman to Oakland in one deal? Damon was traded to KC in the off-season between 00-01 Dye was traded early in the 01 Season
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:58 AM) Yes. Not all the time though. I just thought you guys were kinda ganging up on him is all. Trying to force the Cubs out of his every other post, thats all. He has a pretty bad addiction/sickness right now. We have him on the 28 day program. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) I'm disappointed that nobody picked up on my Ozzie-Wendelstedt reference. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) Don't you get it? We don't give a rat's ass about the damn Cubs. We're here to talk about the White Sox. The Cubs ain't worth a pimple on your daddy's ass. Enough about the Cubs already. LOL, I didnt even see it at first. Nice.
  21. just checked the channel, they are saying it happened in the parking lot now
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) This is Maroth's line from yesterday per rotoworld. I'm fairly sure his ERA was not 540.00. Isnt his ERA 6(runs) x 3(outs) x 9(innings) = 162.00 ERA?
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) I still think he's Marriotti. that deserves another
  24. QUOTE(JimH @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Why is everybody getting on this guys ass about talking about the Cubs? I'm on this site almost every day and lots of people talk about the Cubs, they get a drop-in mention a lot during the game threads ... Rock, Fathom, myself, several others ... we all make comments/cracks about the Cubs. What he does isn't as bad or certainly any worse than others who beat certain topics to death, or am I missing something here? Lots of people here dislike the Cubs ... almost as much as they dislike the wave. Yes, but there is a difference between Rock, Fathom and yourself making fun of them once in a while while Cubsessed mentions them pretty much every post. We get it, he (pretends to) hate the Cubs. Its old. He has better thoughts than that, and he should start sharing them.
  25. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) Has there ever been a situation where a penalty has been increased based on appeal? I don't think so. At least I can not recall one. I hope he does fight it. Mabry got nothing for getting his ass kicked, why should AJP get anything for essentially the same thing? Anderson got off light I thought. LMAO, that would be hilarious. "You know what Barrett, you were an even bigger dickweek than we thought. Here is 5 more games. Appeal that, b****." lol
