  1. Is anyone besides myself going to see Ken Andrews at the double door on October 10th? His March show was amazing
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 08:24 AM) Serial killers have three names as well. It's a police thing. As well as anyone who has attempted to assassinate a president. Its been going on for a long time, and it is very wierd
  3. Hawk just had a "WTF?" moment while discussing the Brewers/Cubs DJ: The Brewers seem like they are trying to climb Mt Everest right now Hawk: It can be done DJ: I know, thats why I didnt say it was impossible. Just unlikely Hawk: Because its there ??????? LOL, someone should tell Hawk that the saying doesnt apply in this situation
  4. Elk Semen?!?!?!!? WTF??!@!?!?!? Barry is insane. This is past a competitive edge
  5. If the Sox missed the playoffs in 05 of course everyone would be calling for his head. That would have been an epic collapse However, this is all hypothetical since they didnt, so it doesnt really matter.
  6. Racism at Rutgers? SIU had a similar critic to their Saluki Way(a process to reface and rebuild SIU and its athletic facilities) and the signing of head basketball coach Chris Lowery. Its always "Why give the scholarship to the dumb athlete who brings nothing to the university when you can give it to a smart kid in the library?" or "Why sign the coach when you can fix this sidewalk?"
  7. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) OK, I bought My Name is Earl Season 1 from Best Buy to pick up on my way home from work. I've never seen the show, tell me I did the right thing? If you like trailer park humor, you will love it
  8. Boston Legal had a really funny season premiere, I like the addition of John Larroquette and the subtraction of a few others who were really minor characters in teh grand scheme of things(Craig Bierko, that other chick that was with him from New York). I like the shakeup they had in the office

I watched "White Thunder/Black Rain" last night on HBO. It is a documentary about the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and it was extremely moving and hard to watch at the same time. they interviewed survivors and the pilots of the Enola Gay, and some of the things that were shown and said were just hard to believe. Its one thing to see the results of a bombing, but to see in print that the wind created reached 1000 MPH and temperatures on the ground reached 9000 degrees farenheit, it just boggles the mind. Some of the art created by the survivors is absolutely heartbreaking. If you are into history documentaries, I really suggest watching this.
  11. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 04:11 PM) PWInsider has a free site. So does the Observer (I think.) As long as you put it out there that you pay for your info and insist that we do so as well, I will tease you about it a little bit. Dont take it seriously, im just kidding around. Besides, i was shown rajah.com(I think Milkman pointed me that way) and I really like what they offer. I used to go to pro-wrestling.com but i think the guy that ran it got burned out and just gave up.
  12. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) something like oct_07 and wm_triple, nm_chyna, i think theres more but i can't remember off hand. The last 2 referencing to either his triple threat match or the match against trips at 'mania and the IC title match against Chyna at No Mercy. if you didnt pay for that info, it is all gibberish
  13. Sounds kind of like what happened with Pete Townsend and Pee Wee Herman. I wonder if the authorities are able to get anywhere with this
  14. LOL, i was just catching the end of the Cubs game and Aramis Ramirez just gets tossed for throwing a fit about the strikezone and telling the ump off as he was walking back to the dugout in the 9th inning. Lou walks out of the dugout and says "What did he do?" and the umpire tells Lou what happened, and I see Lou mouth the words "Well, what are you gonna do" very nonchalant and just wanders back to the dugout. The guy is just funny to watch.
  15. Hopefully this move makes the WRs finish their routes and helps Benson hold on to the ball better
  16. QUOTE(juddling @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Froim Wrestlezone.com: Last night on RAW, WWE aired a very strange and cryptical video clip. The clip shows blue text scrolling on a black screen - very similar to the green scrolling text from the movie "The Matrix". Text is constantly flashing on the screen and it's hard to make out exactly what to make of the clip. The video has been posted online and by pausing the clip at certain spots, several "clues" can be made out: - The phrase "SAVE_US.222" flashes several times and is the focus of the video - Some of the frames show what looks like computer code containing the names of current and past WWE shows. It appears to be the "video paths" used by WWE's production software. - Now, let the speculation begin. There is a "3-2-1" countdown that flashes quickly. One of the phrases that shows up a few times is "cd_volume4_1.act". On WWE's CD "WWE The Music: Volume 4", Track 1 is the theme music of .. Chris Jericho. With that in mind, the clip is somewhat similar to Chris Jericho's old entrance video. - The phrase "7OCT" is repeated over and over on one frame. October 7th is the date of WWE's next PPV, No Mercy. It also seems very similar to the Y2J gimmick he was using when he first showed up to WWE. I love it, the world definitely needs some more Jericho

Last night I was flipping through channels and I watched a foreign movie called Tsotsi, i highly recommend this movie. It came out in 2005, its about a thug(Tsotsi apparently means thug in the African language spoken in this movie) who has a carjacking go bad and he ends up with the infant son of his victim, which changes his perspective on life.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 11:51 PM) You're the best.... Around QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) Nothing's gonna ever keep you down! Exactly. If that soundtrack doesnt inspire, what will? QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 03:05 AM) So I played softball for the first time in 14 months today. (Back problems forced me off my team, but they were really hurting for players today and I agreed to give it a try to prevent a forfeit). I had a 2-RBI single and a grand slam in my first two at-bats. Then...........the inevitable happened. I pulled my right hamstring running out a possible double-play grounder. (I did beat the relay, so at least that) Finished the game (flew out and grounded out my last two at-bats), but I'm hurtin' right now. ....it does indeed suck to get old, kids.... I hadnt played in 2 years before this year(I played every year after high school up until 2004) and I kind of had a feeling that my body wasnt going to recover the way it used to, so i started jogging before the season started to stretch my legs. I have a had a couple minor pulls and sprains this summer/fall, but nothing too major. Another guy on my team blew out his hamstring pretty good literally minutes after saying "I used to be in track in college, but now i just come out here once a week and run around with you guys" thats one hell of a comeback game though, Critic. 6 RBIs in two at bats is pretty good.
  19. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 06:09 PM) Try this one. I'm not even asking, by the way. I'm just going to assume you're looking for a new site to wax off to. LOL, i dont mind telling at all. My softball teams name is Cobra Kai, and as a joke I am burning the soundtrack for my team for "inspirational" music before the games. I was hoping the insert some wavs from the movie, but havent been able to find much, I will check that one out though, thanks
  20. Does anyone know of a good website to download Movie sound clips? More specifically, Im looking for soundclips/wavs from the movie The Karate Kid. Any help would be much appreciated
  21. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) The metal rods point to getting high. I used to roll my cigarettes back in the day, but I didn't need any metal rods for that. The metal rods are probably one-hitters. If they're not hollow, he may just use them to "perfect" his rolling technique. I used to use a pen to get a more perfect shape for my cigarettes. Wait a second, Bob Dylan smokes pot? No way.
  22. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 22, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) NU is bad. So is Arkansas Pine-Bluff. The Salukis are up 30-0 at the half I just read on Salukitalk that SIU has 371 yards of offense at the half, and Ark PB has 10. wow
  23. the only wierd thing about the metal rods is how many there are. Even if he was snorting something, he shouldnt have a large supply of those rods handy for no reason. Unless those are pieces of his other "tobacco pipe", his hookah.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270920103 Hopefully ESPN wont fix all of the errors in this recap before you click on the link. Anyhow, I was on ESPNs homepage and saw there was almost-brawl in the Angels-Mariners game, so I checked out the link. It seems they got a few different recaps confused with each other Here is the "The Closer Look" segment at the top of the page And this is in the body of the summary- I dont know, its not a huge deal or anything, I just found it funny. They will probably correct the summary/recap by the time most of Soxtalk clicks on the link provided
