  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) Interesting how so many people here have their own stories. Here's a recent news story worthy of this thread -- UFO sighted at O'Hare airport. http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/a...,5874175.column I have a feeling that this thread just might hang around a little while. Another interesting site.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) I feel similar sentiments when confronted with the technological advancements required for space travel. For any alien species to successfully venture across the solar system , they'll need to possess a blueprint of how our universe functions. More than merely identifying dark matter and its supposed awesomeness. What is contradictory in my mind is how unknown creatures can solve the perils of space travel, yet can't hide their spacecrafts from view? Why don't they present themselves in public for everyone to see? However, even with this, I fully believe intelligent lifeforms exist outside our planet. I'm a little less willing, although certaintly open minded, to the idea of UFO's flying around Earth. It was an History Channel special I viewed recently which lowered my skepticism a little bit. Yeah, I know; don't laugh. It wasn't a feature on UFO's, but USO's -- Unidentified Submerged Objects. There were numerous accounts of sightings aboard the U.S.S. Franklin Roosevelt by a sizable amount of respected naval officers. Other individuals reported sighting which couldn't be explained as scientific instruments. Eye witness accounts often describe detail colorful, orbital objects diving into and out of the water. I don't know what it is, honestly. Because when you think about it -- the sheer depths of our planet's oceans would be a convenient place for shapeships. /X Files theme I saw that too, I believe that was where I saw the story about Christopher Columbus seeing a UFO/USO. It must have been a weeklong UFO theme, because they had those shows on for a whole week. the Peter jennings special was great
  3. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) ^^^ What he said. The common idea is to think of them as super intelligent, super advanced and what not. I wonder why. Why can't they be dumber than us? Honestly though, wouldnt they have to be super intelligent and advanced to travel the large distances to get to us?
  4. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) ^^^ What he said. I do believe there is other life out there, however. The universe is far too big, and far too unknown for me not to believe this. Do I think they've visited this planet? Not really, no. The common idea is to think of them as super intelligent, super advanced and what not. I wonder why. Why can't they be dumber than us? Why doesn't anyone write a sci-fi book about us humans going to another planet where the beings are utterly and totally stupid? You must not read alot of Sci-Fi and watch any Star Trek.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Sort of a good example, given people's quick reaction to take a side and be outraged. Although there, that was a public servant hyping an unfounded criminal case for politcal gain, which is much worse. My point was more that the Public was seeing through the BS and it became less than newsworthy until Nifong was disgraced recently. We were completely inundated with the story until the cracks started showing through. The hype on this will probably last a little longer because it is a nationally recognized celebrity, but it will probably die down just the same. I dont think elton john is going to be rescripting "Candle in the Wind" anytime soon, either
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) I just don't agree. I see this similarly to personal responsibility. No one EVER makes you buy ANYTHING. If you buy it, fine. Just don't complain that its out there, and that stores are going ga-ga over it. I buy Sox tickets, but you don't see me moaning about how popular the team is. That would be hypocritical. They create hype, because thats marketing. The question is, do we buy into it? If not, guaranteed, that hype will die out mighty quick. *Cough*DukeLacrosse*Cough*
  7. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) We Todd Did Get it right, Cheat. I saw it on a shirt as: We Todd Dead Yur Sofa King We Todd Dead maybe its regional
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) Too bad the actor who played Heimlich is gone too. really? Who was it?
  9. Drugs cannot be blamed for everything. I watched a show on the history channel hosted by Peter Jennings (RIP) and there was unidentified sightings in heiroglyphics in the pyramids, in Christopher Columbus' notebook, all throughout human history. Its more than coincidences
  10. I believe it is ignorant and arrogant to believe that we are the only sentient beings in the universe. Wether they visit or not, who knows. But there has been documented sightings throughout history that are next to impossible to explain. Lets just say that people in the 1800's were not seeing weather balloons and leave it at that
  11. Incredibles 2 is supposed to be in the making from what I read. The game they came out with last year was supposed to bridge to the movie

    The Office

Scrantonicity is the best wedding band ever. EVAR
  13. Pixar has been pretty good about not letting Disney "who*e" out their movies and coming up with fresh ideas. Sure, there is an animated Buzz Lightyear show, but it isnt like the new "Fox and the Hound 2" and "Cinderella 3" and "Aladdin 2 through 50". Im fairly confident this will be a good one. Im still waiting for the sequel to "A Bugs Life". I love that movie

    The Office

Angela "You arent supposed to wear white to a wedding" Kelly "I know. It was an emergency" Kelly (to the camera) "I look great in white" The Pam/Jim saga looks like its gonna be going for a while again. I wonder what happened when she left with her ex......
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) I loved watching Access Hollywood earlier. They approached her death entering the break as some celebrity gossip feature. "Next, the TRAGIC death of Anna Nicole Smith;" which sounded more like "OMG, this is great news!" Mary Hart sounded positively ecstatic about it today.

QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) I think michael was the most unlikeable ever in tonight's episode. I agree. It was uncomfortable to watch at times.

  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) No matter what, she was incredible in her early days. She fell into a wacky world, obviously helped along by all sorts of abuse (drugs, booze, food). Was she selfish? Eh, I never knew her, so I couldn't say. But in her early days...man... RIP. Nah, she was messed up from the get-go. If you watch her VH1 special, she pretty much ditched her kids on her Mom, got popular through playboy, was heavy into drugs the whole time, Married the billionaire, etc. She never made it easy on herself or those that loved her, from start to finish
  19. Well now the paternity test is going to get done for sure. I wonder who the father really is?
  20. I think their fifth state will be Texas, after Arizona, Illinois, California, and Ohio.
  21. I was really surprised it took this long to get a post around here, to tell you the truth. One of my favorite Sports Radio guys had this on his blog today www.czabe.com
  22. Regardless, I thought Prince's performance was fantastic given the conditions and the audience he was performing to.
  23. QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) I think it started out good, but really lost a lot as the year went on. Just my thoughts though.. I know a lot of people really liked it throughout the year. I have to wonder how much of that has to do with your dissatisfaction with the team as the year went along. I know it certainly took the luster off of all things "Sox" for me
  24. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) as far as I know, the NWO main event is NOT for the tag belts. good main event matches set up for WM, but TWO face v face? Just goes to show how bad the WWE is right now with credible heels. And if we get Edge v Orton we get a heel v heel match in there too. Weird. What bout McMahon v Trump? Trump in the corner of some ECW originals and McMahon in the corner of some bulked-up jerks. That should suck. Or will they keep those two storylines apart? Hoping for a TLC match between the Hardys, MNM, London & Kendrick, and the WGTT. Ric Flair's promo to Carlito last night kicked major ass. Interesting to see where this takes Carlito - heel turn, maybe? I totally agree, Flair showed some bigtime fire in that promo. I dont know if its a sign of a heel turn as much as it is a sign of a bigtime push for Carlito, kind of a "Get your sh*t together kid, its time to stop playing around" pep talk. Personally I thought Carlito was a fantastic heel right off the bat with his huge enforcer(cant remember his name), but that guy got hurt and was never seen again.
