  1. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) hippys are starting out younger these days Class trip. Can you believe that?
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) I intended for my post to satirize the issue. I've felt similar sentiments regarding people drawing politics into a fictionalized movie. Specifically, boards on IMDB highlight the odd obsession some have with media outlets heavily publicizing a movie featuring subtle, religious elements. None of which openly promote Christianity. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Movies/12/...rnia/index.html I think this quote sums it up for me. Interpretation is up to you, take what you want from it, it is a great story.
  3. Yeah, I saw this in 7th or 8th grade. Very cool.
  4. I think it looks fantastic. I wonder if the sequels are in the making already, or if they are going to try and gauge the success of the first one before they commit to it.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Breaking on Fox News, Iraqi citizens have turned in a top insurgent known as the butcher of Ramadi (sp?). Sounds like a pretty big catch. I scanned the internet and couldnt find anything yet about a capture, but there was a video on Foxnews.com about a gunfight near or on a convoy. I wonder if these are related
  6. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) Because you see conservatives interrupting speakers all the time, right. This type of behavior is commonplace for liberals who think their opinions are all that matter. I get it, she should go up there, rip on Gays, ex-presidents, anything non-christian, and not expect students at a college to get upset. Not only did she walk right into the situation knowing that it would be volatile, she instigated it more with attacking everything she doesnt agree with. Oh but this is a liberal-conservative thing, I forgot that common sense and respect arent necassarily required when making a speech. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) Cindy Sheehan spoke at the same school and you have not heard of any interruptions of her drabble. Yeah, I read Anne Coulters quote the first time.
  7. QUOTE(Reddy @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) i wasnt confident with him before last season either. but he held it together well enough. ALSO remember that if the Count is as good this year as he was the end of last, he should make up for the slip in Duque. beginning of last year Duque was unhittable and the Count was the Count. Now reverse it and you end up with the same net wins/losses theoretically I dont agree that A) Duque held together real well last year, B ) Duque was unhittable at the beginning of last year, and C) Duque and Counts numbers are reversable for the same net wins/losses. The only similarity Count and Duque had last year was that they were from Cuba. Duque spent way too much time on the DL collecting money for me to trust him as being a stopgap next year. He also wasnt close to unhittable. Duque had a couple of great games in between mediocre and bad outings. Watching him pitch was like watching paint dry.
  8. Both fined 50,000 by the NFL for conduct against the NFL conduct code. This is the department of redundancy department.
  9. lol, Orton is going to have a good game on Sunday, and Josh is gonna come in here pointing fingers. I can just feel it.
  10. QUOTE(Ricky3353 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) Is it just me or does he remind anyone of a poor mans Corey Patterson? LOL, what is a poor mans Corey Patterson? A bat boy? A statistician? A hotdog vendor?
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) Good idea, except as soon as that person (whoever could it be?) was nominated, he would by definition be disqualified. LMAO, quote of the month-worthy. Sounds like something out of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, lol.
  12. Why does it seem like the Indians are really close to slipping back into neutral? I really thought Shapiro and Wedge were going to have something to reckon with next year, and it looks like they are gonna try and overpower with offense again. I think losing Millwood is huge for this team
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) If you had the choice between either Tejada or Uribe, I'd gladly say adios to Uribe. Tejada's one of the best players in baseball. I dont know. Alot of people are pretty convinced that Miggy mailed it in the second half of the year in 05. I dont think I would want a quitter on my team
  14. lol, I forgot about the violin smily
  15. ie. "I think this money is not going to be offered to me somewhere else, the Yankees are overpaying me, i better sign this damn deal." Oh well, I wasnt ecstatic about a sub-marine style pitcher anyways. Too quirky. They either dominate, or get dominated. No gray area in between.
  16. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) Champaign needs to use salt. This is ridiculous. Back in Carbondale, we had a doozy snowstorm about once a year. The town didnt know what to do, had 1 snowplow, never enough salt, and then they would lay down charcoal on the roads. My floors and carpets were completely filthy until the snow melted, I hated that s***. And everyone in Southern Illinois just doesnt understand the concept of driving in snow. Is it that hard? Dont floor it, you morons, thats how you lose traction and spin out. But, like clockwork, half of the town is in the ditch the next day.
  17. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) If i get an award it will be for most hated poster. Hated? No. Disputed? Yes. I think I just heard a sound for josh. Its the worlds smallest violin, playing the worlds saddest song....
  18. This is the UConn school newspaper, the Daily Campus. Some people think that campus newspapers are pretty much editorial trash, and put no stock in them at all, so take this for what it is worth: http://media.www.dailycampus.com/media/pap...gepublisher.com
  19. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Kyle Orton had a good game that day. Don't blame that one on Orton. I want the Bears to win as much as you do Josh. But you are clinging to minute shreds of evidence that Orton deserves to remain quarterback of the Bears, and trying to rationalize to yourself that Grossman is bad, not injury-prone. If Grossman is healthy, he needs to play. I fought tooth and nail to believe that Orton was more than a mere rookie, but he isnt. That doesnt mean that I think that Orton is going to be the next Krenzel, because I think Orton is going to have some success in the NFL, but I also think that he is going to need the 3 year learning curve that is commonly associated with quarterbacks. You want the Bears to win, right?

  21. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Mike McMahon and Koy Detmer are much worse. This does not make Orton good.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Has anyone else noticed the complete lack of Bears pics that Sportsline is dishing out. They had a total of 1 pic from the Bears-Packer game. I expected to see at least one picture of Brett Favre getting popped. There were more than two times that he was hit without knowing it was coming, Mike Brown and Peanut Tillman are the ones we remember. I thought the most impressive hit was when Tommie Harris was in the backfield at the snap and popped Favre during the handoff causing a fumble. Not only was he in the backfield at the snap, but he unloaded on Favre, AND caused a fumble. I was hoping there would be a picture of it somewhere.

  24. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Oddly enough, Coulter is not the biggest right wing wingbat to come through UConn's doors. I contend that that specific honor go to the Ultimate Warrior. Anne Coulter turned it into an easier question and answer session. The Ultimate Warrior threatened to start shaking the ropes. And we all know what happens when Ultimate Warrior shakes the ropes. People start getting hurt!
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) The more I think about, the harder it's going to be to replace the best lead off hitter we have on our roster. and first baseman.
