  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Holy s*** that blows. He is a very large man so that impact must have really f***ed him up. The O-Line has been a strong point this season. Hope he gets back ASAP. I think they are going to move Garza around on the line to keep him in the games. This actually happened at a fortunate time for the Bears, because Ruben Brown was due to come back this week and relegate Garza to the backup role again.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) This is gonna be a tough game. Golden State is playing a back to back which should help the Bulls a bit, but they are coming off a strong win. This is a much improved team from last year and its a team that in the past seems to play the Bulls tough. The Bulls are going to have to put the clamps down on the role players. J-Rich is a stud, and he is going to get his points. If the Bulls can control Foyle in the paint, and make Baron Davis jack up ill-advised shot after ill-advised shot, they will do fine tonite.
  3. Just announced on ESPN1000 that Fred Miller fell at his home and broke his jaw yesterday, and had surgery to repair it. Going to miss 2 games or more
  4. When did Lawrence Taylor change his name to Adonal Foyle?
  5. QUOTE(BMac41 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) The team has not confirmed the local report, and as of Tuesday, head coach D*** Vermeil claimed he was uncertain about Holmes' status. Was Dick Vermeils name really censored out on the fanball site?
  6. Can anyone fill me in on the new press conference?
  7. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) nobody except garland and contreras had career years...I don't quite understand where you got the rest from. I think Hermanson had a career year until his back injury sidelined him. Politte and Cotts had career years, other than that the team was at or below their career norms
  8. I think Soxtalk should put together a thank you/congrats letter and have everyone sign it, with a personal comment, and send it to Ozzie's email.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Oh.. he didn't take the fall. She made a deal BEFORE they found the video tapes of her participating in the crimes so she didn't get an ounce of what she deserved. He's in jail for life.. like she should be. They MURDERED her sister for pete's sake.. after Karla had "given" her to Paul for Christmas. :puke Yeah, Paul was pretty damn sick. The pictures of the concrete blocks were enough to make my stomach turn.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) Ahhh good old Karla Homolka... (sp?). Lucky little lady is out of prison now... she did her time. Thats the name. I think I have seen that Autopsy special about 1500 times in the past year. I remember a few months ago when Karla got out of jail there was a really big deal about it, how many people thought that her husband took the fall even though she was an equal participant.
  11. This reminds me of that couple from Canada who were kidnapping young teenagers and raping and killing them. I always wonder how people can rationalize to themselves that they wont get caught doing something like this.
  12. the advertising campaign for the new video game NBA 06 is pretty funny. http://adweek.blogs.com/adfreak/2005/10/dont_be_a_flop_.html
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) why are you so anti-orton. /pauses, waits for the flame war to begin
  14. Thug "Where is the money Lebowski?" (shoves the Dudes head in the toilet, brings him back up) Thug "where is the money, Lebowski?" (shoves the Dudes head in the toilet, brings him back up) Thug "Where is the money, Lebowski" (holds the Dudes head up for a second, letting him talk) The Dude "It's uh... uh... it's down there somewhere, let me take another look." The Stranger: There's just one thing, Dude. The Dude: And what's that? The Stranger: Do you have to use so many cuss words? The Dude: What the f*** you talking about? The Stranger: Okay, Dude. Have it your way. Thug: [holding up a bowling ball] What the f*** is this? The Dude: Obviously you're not a golfer. Obviously I like the movie "The Big Lebowski"
  15. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) hmmm...sticky situation any way you look at it. what was that sound....kind of loud.....kind of silly.....oh yeah, it was a RIM SHOT!
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Im not talking about height Im really talking about weight. Brees is actually mobile enough to buy time to throw to his receivers. Ok, now you are grasping at straws and changing the argument.
  17. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) yes but if you read what i said Vick is mobile enough to escape from pressure from the defense. Ok, but what about these guys? Drew Brees 6'0" Jake Delhomme 6'2" Brett Favre 6'2" Jeff Garcia 6'1" Kelly Holcombe 6'2" Steve McNair 6'2" Jake Plummer 6'2" Anthony Wright 6'1" I think the height argument is overrated.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Okay, so as many of you know, I'm in college. I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a freshmen(sophmore after this semester), but I seriously want to change my major. How can you help? Simple. State a major which you like or pick something you majored in and give 3 pros and cons of each. Don't worry about me having to take classes all over again. Everyone is welcome to help. Oh I get it. This is so you can blame all of us when your career as a clown goes bellyup after Steff recommends clown school and you are watching all of your mechanical engineering buddies making money hand over fist. real nice, nite
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Maybe it was super glue, or some other fast acting compound...? Yeah, but if it was fast acting, then it would have to have been applied right before the guy sat down. This guy would have seen the person who did it to him, Superglue dries very quickly.
  20. Those two are one and the same if you ask me. Yesterday when watching the replay of the T.O.'s press conference, I couldnt help but think that Rosenhaus looked like he jumped right out of an episode of "Playmakers" and onto ESPNews. The whole press conference came off as being fake and scripted, even the reporters didnt seem real. T.O. was doing ok yesterday until Rosenhaus took the mic, and after that I saw millions fall off of his upcoming payday.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) The question is, what is his purpose? His purpose is to acquire lots and lots of money.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Most of the time, if there's two people in a stall, it's either sex or coke. Based on the agressive behavior and that 'look' in those mug shots, my guess is it was the dummy dust. I was thinking the same thing Los. The girls got doped up and got pissed when they were asked to leave. I guess it would be better to be called a Lesbian than it would to be called a cokehead.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) If he acts like he did last year than i have no problem with it. He really wasn't a problem last year. You dont remember that scene from last year when T.O. was following McNabb around the sideline chirping in his ear, when Donovan couldnt get away from him? there was plenty of problems last year. But the magic of winning made everything better. Take away the consistent winning, and T.O. becomes a malcontent. Every time. And he throws ALL of his QBs under the bus. There is no reason the Bears should even think of giving T.O. a shot to destroy the team.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Lyle has a great speaking voice.... and he played the game. Side note.. John & family moved into their new pad in the western burb's over the weekend.. Cangelosi or Rooney?
  25. QUOTE(BMac41 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) He hasn't had any luck. They've been freak injuries.I want to see him play. So you want to break up any sort of continuity the Bears have been developing with Orton at QB, just to see Grossman play? Anyone can admit that Orton has not played at a high level this season, but those very same people need to realize that A) the bears havent had a 4 game winning streak since 2001, and B) You dont fix it if it aint broke. The Bears cannot jump ship on Orton for any other reason than injury this year(knock on all available wood). This would send a bad message not only to Orton, but I think to his team. Grossman would be starting from square one again, and Orton already has 2 more NFL starts and experience than Grossman right now. If Grossman wants his shot, he is going to have to take it from orton next year, IMO.
