  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) It's all but a lock the Cubs trade for Familia at the deadline in 2017. they love some domestic abuser closers from NY. But hey, it worked once
  2. pickup game at shacks!
  3. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) Yeah, but then he got picked immediately after we picked. There's a big difference. It's not like Trout was a 3rd rounder and I'm saying this. We had him right in our grasp for the taking. Thats not a big difference. 24 GMs had the same misguided opinion about Trout, and who knows, maybe a few after the 25th pick would have thought the same thing. But you are hanging it on KW like he was the only one, when he was not
  4. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Lol but you don't mention that he picked Jared Mitchell over Mike freaking Trout and passes on Corey Seager for Courtney Hawkins? Sure Sale is a good move. Sure. But maybe his only good draft choice in his entire time as GM. He's had more garbage moves that have hurt us long-term than good ones that allowed us to be consistent contenders - contrary to KW and JR's dreams about that. Hahn clearly has a passive personality if you've ever seen him take a media. KW has the more domineering personality. Besides, KW is his damn boss. Do you think Hahn just has been preaching "long-term, sustainable success" and doing a completely other thing because he wants to? No, because his bosses make him do so. 24 teams passed on Mike freaking Trout, lets not act like this is picking Sam Bowie over Jordan in the top 3
  5. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 03:15 PM) The question is does he know that he does not have that control ? there are still a lot of questions yet to be answered
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) One thing I still don't get re Westworld:
  7. it is pretty disappointing that we are going to have to wait until 2018 for season 2. It started slow but now that things are happening i dont want it to end
  8. its funny how Olney ranges from "talking out his ass" to "solid in his reporting" depending on the info lol
  9. JFC has trump picked one person for his Cabinet that doesnt have a conflict of interest?
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) I can't get 2014 or 2013 data to load here this morning, but per this site the Bears are in the top 5 in injured reserve losses both of the last 2 years, but not at the top either year. It doesnt make sense, and you would think the bears would be due a couple years of good luck. but those years just never seem to get here. If it was like that first lovie season where everyone got pulled hamstrings in like the first week of practice and it continued through the year i would be all about blaming the trainers, but you go down the list of these players and see how they got hurt and it just doesnt seem like they could do much to help. I forgot to add Zack Miller and he got his foot stepped on two games ago and broken as well.
  11. Oh no not the red eye Anything but that
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) 3 years of many different types of injuries makes it difficult to agree it's just luck and a physical game. They have also routinely underestimated healing time on their players during this period. Shoulder injuries, foot injuries, knee injuries, finger injuries arm injuries. Its bizarre I agree, but we have seen the replays of all of it. Sitton, Long, Goldman, White all got rolled up. Trevathan iirc got hit in the pile. Floyd brained himself on another guys hip. Wilson broke his foot in like the first day of preseason practice running. Fuller, who knows I dont know what to say but it isnt like everyone is out due to soft tissue injuries. Everything happening this season has been legit bad luck. Its f***ed up
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) Bears have been completely destroyed by injuries for 3 straight years it seems like. Maybe our staff needs to reevaluate the players they acquire or the routines they are using. routines and training staffs dont prevent roll ups and guys stepping on feet
  14. i hope they get this shooter down quick, how horrible
  15. the sun will rise tomorrow, you heard it hear first
  16. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 02:13 AM) No s***, they confirmed just about all of them right?
  17. Lmao Barkley won that game twice
  18. Just let Fales come in and get some snaps. Just play it out like a preseason game
  19. The Barkley era begins today
  20. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/10/jose...y-whitesox.html Abreu won't get nearly the raise you're thinking of. Wouldn't surprise me if Napoli secured a fairly similar free agent contract to what Abreu will get the next 3 years after arbitration. i dont think Abreu is gonna get a huge raise, I just think Napoli isnt gonna be getting a big contract. Teams get sketchy when guys cross that 35 year threshold, and Napoli isnt exactly a sure thing nor is he a guy who you can put out on the field very much(if at all anymore) And trading for Abreu doesnt tell me that you are saving a lot of money over signing Napoli if that is the Astros goal.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) Teams can't win on the road. It's the age old problem for teams. Oft times a blue blood will win by 40 at home and be lucky to win by 2-3 in the road conference rematch. ok now you are just moving the goalposts. You first started by saying that top 20 teams would lose more often than not to non conference opponents on the road, now you are talking about a blue blood winning at home by 40(against who? non conference? conference?) and then contrasting it with road CONFERENCE teams which is an entirely different beast. Look greg, i know you know college bball, im not stupid. You know just as well as anyone that Kansas may have problems beating WSU at Wichita year to year. But you arent saying that. You are basically saying that Kansas will more often than not lose to any non-conference team they play on the road and that is just categorically untrue. Cream(talent) rises to the top, top 20 teams usually have a lot of it.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 01:38 PM) You know, I had WWE 2k17 and NBA 2k17 on my brain and just instinctly put 2017 in thread title. Where's Kyle to clean up my mess? i was just gonna let it sit there for everyone to see
  23. Yea with Abreu opting into arbitration, there is no telling how much he will make next year and if the Astros would be saving money or not QUOTE (Username @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) Unless Abreu is making 18-20 million via arbitration that's just not true. And regardless Abreu's contract is likely still much more favorable in its year to year setup than giving Napoli multiple years. How much money do you think Napoli is going to make? The guy is about to turn 35 and had his best year in the past 5 seasons, is pretty much a DH only, I dont think anyone is going to be breaking the bank to sign him
  24. Do you have to have any sort of separate insurance policy for that? Like, if you are playing with a bunch of friends and one of them blows out a knee, are you on the hook if the guy wants to sue? It looks fantastic shack, really nice job
