  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) He was torched. Barkley looked very uncomfortable and very bad. I presume Bears have to think long and hard about what they do with Cutler. I presume he could play in 11 days, but do they ever play him again (and risk him getting hurt and thus the Bears being on the hook for him in future years) or will they fully stick with Barkley (and whomever they sign off the street). I'm sure Barkley will look better with some real practice, but if Barkley is going to finish out the season, we might not win another game. Unsure what you mean by this, I was under the impression that Cutlers contract isnt guaranteed in any way going forward, he is basically year to year now. Are you saying if he gets injured this season, that his contract somehow becomes guaranteed going forward? I doubt Barkley starts a game. He is baaaaaaaaaad
  2. Tough night for Bausby
  3. Matthews put the crown of his helmet on Hoyers arm, I'm not surprised it broke
  4. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Oct 20, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) Nintendo is trying to convey that their system can play modern games and has a 5 year old game in their first look trailer of a new system. Oh, Nintendo. Probably just to show off the partnership with Bethesda, but I agree
  5. Nintendo trying hard to show that they are playing nice and working with a lot of game publishers
  6. Eddie Lacy to the IR, ankle surgery
  7. If Fox sells back to Marvel/Disney/ABC, you have to think their return on investment will be astronomical. DO THE RIGHT THING, FOX
  8. Yea I'm gonna get that lol
  9. Trailer for "Logan"
  10. SNL will be good
  11. Dude, replay is f***ing worthless
  12. They just choked out the Blue Jays, I believe the announcer said the 4 and 5 hitters were 2 for 35 for the series
  13. Buck is catching a lot of heat this series because of his connections to the Cardinals. He doesnt bother me but I can see him annoying people
  14. So my 3 and 6 year old boys want to be Sonic the hedgehog and Link for Halloween, respectively. Easy enough, right? No, it isn't. So I go online and order costumes because we couldn't find their sizes at Halloween Spirit. I order the sonic costume, it gets shipped to me today and my daughter texts me and says the headpiece is missing. Awesome So then I go to order the link costume. All costume shops have broken the entire costume down to separate pieces. Tunic($20), hat($6), leggings($9), boots($10), Sword($20), shield($20) Such a racket. I hate costume companies
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) That is pretty elitist of him to call fans soft. That's a rightfully damaged fan base. What a DBag How dare you call the man with Phenomenal Sources "elitist"? How dare you, sir
  16. Kaplan probably went home and stomped upstairs to his room and slammed the door yelling "leave me alone!", then put his Cubs Pujols jersey on and cried himself to sleep
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:38 AM) Well if Don cooper said something about unrelated players. Nestor Molina begets Mike Montgomery, the circle of life is complete QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) Well, we've heard Don Cooper say similar things for years and years about guys like Nestor Molina, Zach Stewart and Jeff Marquez. If they can also turn Montgomery into a stud, we should be pilfering more coaches from that staff instead of former Sox players. nobody said anything about turning him into a stud. I love how "acquiring a cost controlled young arm" quickly spun into "they need a front line starter for the playoffs" and "if they can also turn Montgomery into a stud...." The Cubs dont want Hammell(and who knows, maybe Lackey too) wasting a spot. They want a young starter with talent that could possibly realize his potential. When they acquired Montgomery, this was all said about him. Maddon in his call in this week mentioned Montgomery starting next year. They probably have acquired this arm already
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Don't think the Royals and especially the M's would have dealt him if he was perceived to be a future quality starter. Seattle gave him 18 starts over two seasons but had him in the bullpen for most of this year. He's also had one major injury, think it was TJS. Yea, im sure every time a trade is made, teams make sure every player traded away wont be good And heck, the Cubs started him 5 times after they acquired him so obviously they feel like he isnt worth starting
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:11 AM) It's amazing how quickly the trib columnists start wetting their pants and fall back into their cynical sniping of the players/coaches decisions. Went from being so annoyed at the ridiculous tweets like "Lester could have chosen to join the Giants, instead he chose a chance at immortality" to now "Madden tried to get too cute, and now he needs to get smart" This 100% sounds like David Haugh
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:08 AM) Remember when Tony Snell could be a young Kawhi Leonard thou? Miss those days. No, i dont remember this
  21. Crazy how different cubs fans sound today on the score than they did after Game 1. It went from "who starts game 1 against Jays/Indians?" to "Maybe David Ross should start at first over Rizzo, and Almora needs to start the rest of the series" and "Maddon is not as good of a Manager as you think he is" in 4 days QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) No team is dealing young cost controlled arms that will start at the front of a playoff rotation which is what the cubs will need. The cubs dont need an ace. They have Lester and Hendricks, and the both of them have been dominant. Another cost controlled arm will do them very well, but they may have already aqcuired that in Montgomery(at least it seems that way with how Maddon talked about him the other day) The Cubs need to figure out how to hit in the playoffs, specifically the guys who got them there(rizzo and russell) need to figure it out
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Apparently Bauer wanted to burn his finger to stop the bleeding. That guy is crazy! I think he also realizes how much he f***ed up
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) I don't call anybody out. Note I've only heard from two posters so far expressing any disdain at all concerning Hillary. This thread can handle it. Please, go ahead and name these people who are expressing all of this support for Hillary. Inquiring minds want to know
  24. Maybe if all Thursday games were played after a bye week it would be fine, but after the previous Sunday is pretty brutal
  25. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) I mean, all these guys just play a "role", right? How is CNN or Fox News really that different from ESPN and FS1, with Skip, Stephen A, ect. Every network needs guys to give the hot takes and have arguments. I guess, I dont really see Screamin A and Skip being able to really influence people to the point that something changes though. Political talking heads are trying to drive home narratives that could possibly change the government. Not that they DO change the government, but thats the idea
