QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 15, 2016 -> 07:49 AM) None of these involve football players, but this article cites a few examples where straight men have abused these new rules: http://www.ruthinstitute.org/ruth-speaks-o...omens-bathrooms There are plenty more out there if you search for them. Well obviously the solution here is to just abolish bathrooms and locker rooms, considering people use them for sexual assaults and we can't have penis in the wrong place.

QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ May 14, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) Jackson and Abreu would have reached base had they just not swung. That slider is nasty but it's not a strike. It's almost like it looked like a strike and fooled them. Weird -

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 13, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) It looks great but I think the trailer could've been better suited towards the general audience. I really like how Ubisoft Films adapt their properties. They start not with a script or a director but with casting their lead (Fassbender and Tom Hardy, who's playing Sam Fisher) and that actor becomes the auteur of the film. So with AC, Fassbender was the one who hired the director, Justin Kruzel (who directed him in Macbeth) and cast Marion Cotillard (who was also in Macbeth) and oversaw development of the script. It's very old school and that approach to developing a film isn't used anymore. I'm exited to see how it turns out. You have successfully watered down the word auteur

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 13, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) Anyone buy a car with a salvage title? I saw a listing online for an 2002 Tahoe that only has 100k miles on it. Looks great from the pictures and it's less than $4k. I'm thinking it'd be great as a family vacation vehicle that can tow something (like a pop-up camper) at a very, very minimal expense. But I have little to no idea what a salvage title entails when it comes to future repair work, insurance, any sec of state issues, etc. All I have heard is make sure it isnt flood salvaged. That kind of repair work seems to pop up at random times and sometimes will make the money you saved burn up in repairs

Japan's olympics bid could have involved bribes

QUOTE (bmags @ May 12, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Yeah. I can see the sea change coming, but the IFC is going to have to cut down on their ridiculous demands for new everything, and I imagine we'll just have another 20 years of these prestige authoritarian countries dominating (Russia/China/Qatar/etc). Boston pulling out was a good sign. London will never want to do it again. We'll see what happens. This Rio thing is gonna be a litmus test imo. The water quality, the zika virus, the apartments that they werent planning on putting AC in, it seems like its gonna be bad. -

Kyyle23 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
its funny how all of these countries want to host an event that is basically a black hole that money disappears into, never to be recovered by that country. And in order to create this large economic black hole, they pay people a lot of money in bribes -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) It isn't like Jordan isn't still a hugely recognizable figure. Either he's changed his behaviors as a result of social media, etc (or just gotten more careful) or he adapted to the new society to ensure his image continues to be that of the greatest player ever. If Jordan did something terrible, it would still be huge news and he'd get blasted in social media today. He's still extremely famous and one of the most recognizable people on the planet. I don't buy into Jordan having any image other than the current one he has (regardless of era's). He was too smart of a business guy and by and large his issues happened on the court / in practice. Tons of players gamble and tons of them cheat...I've heard multiple NBA reporters say that it is an unwritten rule that you absolutely do not report on what you see outside of the basketball lines (unless of course it is a violation of laws). And one of the reporters, Ramona Shelbourne, went further and mentioned specifically affairs, other women, etc. The PGA world is a much different perceived sport than basketball. Jordan sleeping with other women didn't make him different. Tiger doing it did (as the perceived golfer is a gentlemen who would never do such a thing...not that it is true, it probably isn't it, but it is the perception). Ask people if they think their favorite NBA player cheats or if their favorite golfer cheats and you'll probably get pretty drastically different responses. Tiger also had done it forever, it was the whole car accident and entire craze that added to it as well. The wife/car incident is what kicked it all off. Then everyone was like "hmmmmm what was all that about?" and started digging

Former Bear Eben Britton wrote about being a functional drug addict in the NFL. Some pretty crazy stuff here https://thecauldron.si.com/what-does-it-tak...ab00#.mrja0t8zt Interesting what he says about the 2014 bears team after they got smoked by NE

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2016 -> 12:01 PM) All you have to do is look at Tiger Woods to know how much the media loves to eat one of these guys for lunch. Yea, but it took a lot before that happened. MJ may or may not have gotten busted, but I would lean on the side of him being about to successfully stay out of it in order to maintain his image, because he knows how much his image is worth

So on Agents of SHIELD they discussed the Sokovia Accords last night, as well as Cap and Stark. So it seems like they still may look SHIELD back into the MCU even though they have said they arent planning on doing that
