QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) there could be several reasons for this, one can be a legal item.... profiting on a legal situation. no, thats not it

QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 07:28 PM) My thoughts as well. I wish I knew more about cars, cause I know about zero. If you really want to know, Youtube is your friend. Mechanics post all kinds of DIY videos. Step by step, big and small projects, taking you through it all and telling you what you need.

Rough way for KC to lose that one

IIRC Belle had an out clause in his contract and he used it and went to the Orioles for another big payday before his degenerative hip caught up to him

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) So the Sox tell him they won't add years to his contract. They give their blessing to move on and yet you guys won't get off the "he quit" brigade. You guys want everything I guess. Sox want Ozzie out - Done. Sox get compensation - Done. Sox don't have to pay him a final disastrous season - Done. Yet at the conclusion of all that: "We still hate you Ozzie. You quit on the team." Makes very little sense. You got everything you wanted and STILL hate the guy. Hate him for his mouth. Hate him for his kids. Hate him for his Sunday lineups and no sense of urgency as he became a fixture and complacent, but don't hate him for some phantom quitting. People hating Ozzie(they don't, they dislike him) has absolutely no correlation with what happened or the fact that he quit on the team after he made a power move that got stonewalled I really wish you could understand this We(fans) did not let Ozzie out of his contract to go to the team he negotiated with WHILE MANAGING THE WHITE SOX.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) As I recall, Management was all for Ozzie negotiating something with Florida in order to get rid of him. Yes. I meant risking your hard earned money. Good chance of a zombie like performance if you go see a Sox game. Thing is, KW did want Ozzie gone and Florida took care of the problem. You recall wrong, as per usual when you discuss Ozzie leaving the Sox

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) Maddon has a really quick hook on his starting pitchers. he has been doing that with Hendricks for a few months

QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) i stated that it was an rumor that was discussed. whether the source is credible or not. until it is disproved, it is still a viable rumor. now, i am not making up opinions and basing everything on the assumption, which that person was doing. now can you see the difference. i am not taking liberties and digging for a way to make a point ...... I didnt dig, that was like 3 posts beforehand. And you have been making assumptions about the GM messing up before the draft since the draft ended
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) again, there are soooo many variable associated with this line of thinking. you are making too many assumptions. if ....... a huge if, every things works out. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) if rumors were correct, the hawks had 2 possible teams before the draft. the problem was, the gm over estimated the market. what i read phx wanted bickell and a 1 rnd for phx 3 and 5 rn and a teir 3 minor league prospects.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:49 AM) I didn't mean it in a bad way. It was something along the lines of "please learn how to hit a high fastball so you can become a star player". It wasn't rude at all. He just can't take criticism. "So much better if he could hit the high heat" isnt exactly constructive criticism and then you made like 5 consecutive tweets complaining that he blocked you.

I enjoyed when Huckabee drew the comparison of letting a Gitmo detainee growing a beard to allowing Kim Davis to deny marriage licenses.

QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 09:04 AM) I'd take Ozzie back any day. But I'd have to stop listening to 670. If KW is ever gone, this becomes an actual possibility. And I would love to see the uproar from all the fans who would rather hire a clipboard weenie type coach. Most of all though, I would just like to have good baseball players on our team. That would be nice. eh?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 01:42 AM) Please tell me in a DIRECT answer. Don't be a politician. What the hell did Ozzie quit?? It was the last week of September and his team sucked and had long ago quit on him. Robin's quit on him this year as well. Please folks answer my question. This is big boy sports. What the hell did Ozzie quit on? A week of more bad baseball? Robin quits every time he puts a position player in to pitch by this type reasoning. Everyone has given you a direct answer. He quit on the white sox. You are right, this is big boy sports. When your team is having a bad season and you are a week away from leaving them after some tremendously bad PR from your loose lipped sons, you pull up your big boy pants and suck it up for another week. Ozzie could kill Jimmy Carter and you would find an excuse for him.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) Glad the White Sox hired Jeff Banister when they had a chance. Ooops. You have an opportunity to hire the bench coach of the team that's probably the most on the cutting edge of shifting/sabremetrics/pitch framing...someone who combines the best of "old school" discipline mixed with a modern approach (see Clint Hurdle adjusting/changing his stripes as well) and they don't even consider it. Not paying Maddon, we all get that...you're not going to outbid the Cubs and he's going to realistically understand the White Sox were lacking in positional talent, but it seems we're just been designated into the 7 Circles of Dante's Hell being a Sox fan these days. I know, I know...if you're not getting any enjoyment from it, don't watch or comment, and that's pretty much been the case for many I'm sure over the last month or so. You are the king of 20/20 hindsight

Usually that 20 dollar oil change is with no filter. I get it though, some people just don't want to do it. I do as much as I can on my car to save money, by far the most money I have saved is changing my own brakes and rotors. The shops just kill you on those changes. Costs me about 90 bucks for brakes and rotors to do it myself, most shops charge 200 bucks and up. and when I do it I also rotate my tires which is another cost
-
my van has the filter near the front passenger wheel well, but I can still get to it from underneath. The only time I have ever had an issue with where something was, was when I had to replace my starter on my 85 Chevy Blazer in college. That thing was a b****, we had to take the engine off the mounts and tip it in order to get the starter out

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) We should do a mini poll. Who would you rather have manage the Sox next year if these were the only choices: Robin or Ozzie or Bevington? I'd take ... OZZIE! lets do a poll, which piece of crap smells the worst? everyone else can go first, im good
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 08:23 AM) For conventional oil it's a few bucks. When I had my GTO that took 6+ quarts of full synthetic, it was the difference between $40 to do it myself or $80-90 for a oil shop. Of course, I still have about three gallons of old oil in the corner of my garage from at least 2 years ago. very true, i am not putting premium oil into my car so it is less for me for sure. My stepdad works for UPS and they take his used oil and recycle it, so I have that going for me fortunately.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) Yeah...I have no interest in doing it Im no baller like Mr Vegas here, i gotta save pennies here and there

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 12:12 AM) I guess it's different if you are using the Sale yardstick vs. the MLB yardstick. It's no different with any pitcher. They either own a team or get owned by a team. The peculiar one is Danks vs. opponents. I'm not a fan of shutting down a hard throwing pitcher. I can only think that trend started with Strasburg. They treat some of these pitcher like they are glass. I think it was Woody Fryman who started the season with four man rotation. Taking away the competition from athletes based on they competed too much makes no sense. Pitching is just as much a mental game as it is physical. Mark B. knows how to get people out throwing at 89 and Nate Jones thinks he can get everyone out throwing 98. At least with Strasburg, there were already existing legitimate arm health issues. People want to shut down Sale merely for the possibility of the arm health issues

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 12:42 AM) Is being able to change your oil a big money saver? Usually you save anywhere from 5-10 bucks. If you go into any auto store like Napa or Advance, they have a deal where you can get a Oil + filter deal for 20-25 bucks. Most jiffy-lube type places charge you 30-35 bucks for oil and filter. Air filters usually cost you an extra 15-20 bucks in the shop too, where they cost 10-15 bucks in the store It just depends if you want to do it.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 06:41 AM) Yea the TNS repot said no chargers then nothing stopping him from attending. FWIW. It wasnt presented as fact, it was presented as opinion. I believe the quote was(not verbatim) "If he isnt charged, I see no reason why he wouldnt show up...." Of course this was ran with as fact

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 10:34 PM) I'm with raBBit on this. I agree with your analysis but there are already threads on Samardzija and Olt. I guess you could've started one on Webb. How about complain about them in the gamethread, since this was posted during the game?

Mikkelsen needs to be a comic bad guy somewhere. DC, Marvel, what have you. He has the look and demeanor. That being said, Sean Bean needs to get in somewhere too. Im sure there is a role for him in some comic where he is killed off

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 12:54 AM) People that say he quit slay me. How come that is never mentioned in the media? Cause it's stupid. The Sox wanted him gone and he quickly negotiated a deal. This is big-boy sports. The White Sox did not want him. They chose KW. He bolted. So who cares?? Seriously. This quitting thing baffles me. I've NEVER seen it mentioned in the media. The only thing they mentioned is the hatred of Ozzie/Kenny and all the non-PC stuff Ozzie said to the press. Quitting? That team quit on Ozzie and he merely left. None of you wanted him back for the final year on his deal, anyway. He did you all a favor. Who cares if he quit with a week to go and why is that NEVER mentioned in the media?? Cause it's a non issue to most. dont let the truth get in the way of a good agenda
