QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 26, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) That was the best defensive job i've seen all year on gs. If Kyrie is at full strength they win the game rather easily. well not easily, but they win the game. it's either the cavs or spurs. nobody else has a chance against the warriors. "If Kyrie is at full strength...." Lmao

Mets rule out Cespedes
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 24, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) http://deadspin.com/its-time-for-the-mets-...o-go-1749456433 Interesting article about the Mets this offseason, and actually the comments are what make it interesting in saying how, outside a move or two, the availability of this off-season isn't a great fit with Mets needs. They're just such an enticing team because they have all that cheap young pitching. As I said before, their money problems are for real. They are paying off loans for a long time, they invested with Bernie Madoff and that money is GONE

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) btw, when did i accuse of all admin and mods???? again, just acting out.... but again on the flip side, just b/c they don't tell the truth, not is ever right, b/c all rumors are wrong and without contents. Here QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 04:52 PM) nice high standards that admin and mods have to show the class they have. bravo. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) sure, a lot of players or people will admit that happen. if it didn't how come the players are not suing those who were quoted for defamation of character. there are a lot of proof that this reporter or that reporter are saying this. any way, why do i need to keep score if i proved my point to sway other posters.... what will that get me??? but being classy and neutral in all things, is what a admin and mod have... or to up hold a class act.... which i am not seeing in well i will leave it here. you can answer this any way you want. where there is smoke there is fire. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 06:19 PM) ok, all that was a statement that i did provided and yes is it concrete evidence that it was the case, beyond a shadow of a doubt.... no, and so any other posters is correct on that scope. no one knows, only the powers to be will know the truth. i heard of the trade or rumor attempt for a possible trade at the trade deadline. yes i read the sports link, did i totally believe in it, no, but it can not be denied that there may.... may be an element of truth. unless you, i or anyone else were there to see it. now, everyone will need to acknowledge that spin doctoring does happen, and that if for pr reasons if anything else. all i am saying and have said, there was or capable of being other reasons..... again this goes back to feb and a sports link, i do not know it that, that was being reported was true. if it wasn't true, then why no retractions????? your statement was at first the trade was b/c of salary cap reasons and no other reasons.... and you wanted to prove that point. after a while you wanted the proof of what i saying or links.... i did, now you were questioning the integrity of it. how am i or anyone prove the integrity of any story..... but there was and have never been any lawsuite or retractions. you and other admins and mods needs to be proven that you were right, then have some really classy other response... from adults to act like that. if the fact of a statement is in question, people has to understand, there might be 2 pov and one may never prove or convince the other to chg, but it is their right to have that pov.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) oh yeah, you are always right. If you honestly believe tony, or any other mods or admins for that matter, govern this board and force our opinions as facts because we wield some sort of power then there is no point in arguing or discussing things with you. That is ridiculously absurd and you know it is

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 03:43 PM) and this whole site is for rumors, innuendo's and discussions. as i said before, no one on any org is going to admit it, at least now. btw, what will it take for you to understand that a rumor, is what many sports site deal with, and yet, you have no problems with that. you have the luxury of sitting back and pick and chose what you chose to accept. fact, during the season, it was rpt on a news paper or sports site of a fight between sharp and keith, what spilled out was rumors of a wife have an affair and what is known is keith divorce his wife due to some reason.. the hawks didn't want to discuss nothing of it. when saad was traded, the hawks had some room to play with. Artem Anisimov at the time of the trade was making 3,283 mil and then stan resign him to the tume of 4,550 mil. more that 1,2 mil more. if everything taken into consideration, if that bs in the lockroom didn't happen, the hawks would have been able to make it work. you can not sit here and pick and choose and say this is the results, look at everything at the time of the trade and player movement. Lmao you cannot state fact and then follow that with a rumor! The fact of this discussion is you are stating that Sharp was traded because of the problems with keith and sharp, and that is where I completely disagree with you.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) on a friendly discussion. there are other factors at play. and i hate to go this route but really poor planning and maybe just an unrealistic request for a rtn on bickell. but lets also that another look at something that also happen, the Saad trade and not only the reasons, but what they go in rtn, plus resigning to AA to a new contract. now take all that, imo lets forget about all the other BS locker room stuff, the hawks would have been in a better position to deal with it. getting Artemi Panarin was not only a life saver but it prob help stan on all the negative stuff that was coming from TSN hockey site. i don't know, but with Saad gone, the salary cap st a lot different looking at the time. You keep bringing rumors and innuendo into the discussion. Before last season even started they were saying it was very likely Sharps last season with the Hawks because of the cap. Even right now after Saad and Sharp were traded, the Hawks are right up against the cap. It was not realistic to keep him, they didn't trade him because he did or did not f*** Keith's wife, they traded him because they could not afford him.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) oh but don't let that burst your bubble ..... don't let something like the locker room fight they had..... sway your opportunity to get a dig on someone. that may ruin your day. Hey, don't let the reality of the salary cap ruin your day. Just curious, say no rumors of a locker room fight or affair happened, would the Blackhawks be able to keep Sharp on the team?

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) since you really do not work for the front office of the hawks, you really don't know. there was a huge discussion on this board about that. now, the salary cat does comes into player here, the hawks got back 4.2 mil in salary and sharp contract was 5.9 going out. but in order to sweeten the deal johns was added to the sharp pkg to entice dal to do the trade. they the hawks needed to get sharp off the team. So the salary cap isn't a likely reason but a rumored affair by sharp with Keith's wife is a probable reason?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) This is nonsense. The players are just as much to blame for this mess as the front office and Hoiberg. Losing to teams like Charlotte and Brooklyn is inexcusable. I don't care if Hoiberg's rotations are bad or he doesn't use TO's appropriately or whatever. The Bulls' roster is heads and shoulders above those teams no matter who they put out. Do i want them to act like professionals? sure. But it isnt the first time an organization has had turmoil in the front office that bled into the court/field product, and they are acting like it bothers them. San Francisco 49ers last season was pretty similar. Maybe i was wrong to say I dont blame them, it would be better to say this doesnt surprise me

at this point I dont really blame the players for not caring. last year was a front office/coach divorce that was extremely public, and they put in what looks like a puppet figurehead who is starting to look out of his league. Im not gonna say it cannot get better, but this is a s*** show right now

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 09:16 AM) IMO the best sign he might waive that is that it took him what, 2 weeks of the season to complain about not getting the ball enough? He's playing for his last contract in the season right before the cap explodes. If someone wants to get him the ball more, he'll go. Oh he will waive it. He said after the last game that "My career is winding down and I want to play for a team that wants to win a championship" The guy has already told media he is opting out after this season, he sees that this is pretty toxic and isnt looking promising.

I'm no mathematician, i never mentioned anything about per and I couldn't break it down. All I know is Leonard has been a far better player on a far better team for his career, and when I read about Leonard functioning within the Spurs he gets nothing but high praise. Butler had a great year last year and has done nothing but improve since he got into the NBA, but Leonard is next level when I watch them play, he knows his role on his team and excels within his team. But thanks for calling me to the carpet, you can explain per if you would like to.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Would it help to know Jermaine Dye had the best year of his career with the Sox at age 32 ? I was just looking at Dye's stats from age 32 on . He had some of his best years with the Sox. One of the few guys who was hurt a lot then gets to us and gets healthy and hits more HR for the Sox then he ever had before. We always hear " this guy will hit more HR at the Cell "but we never see it actually happen very much. Even in his last year in the majors at age 35 he hit 27 HRs and a .793 OPS and .340 OBP. Dye had 44 HR's in age 32 season. , 120 RBI , 1.006 OPS, .386 OBP, .662 SLG. , OPS+ 151 Dude could still hit when he retired ( or nobody wanted him). His fielding fell of a cliff if I remember it right . Lost a couple of steps at 33 rebounded a little at 34 but still bad ,then totally lost it a lot more at 35. It was the weirdest forced/chosen retirement I can recall. Iirc he didn't want to take less than a certain amount, and I think he didn't want to DH

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Do you really want a separate thread on John Smoltz replacing Harold Reynolds with FOX? The main reason I included that was because Trayce Thompson is one of the targets...once again, do we want a separate thread about that topic alone (interest in a former White Sox player by another team seemingly being of interest to MOST SoxTalk posters)? Should I start a separate Jackie Bradley, Jr. thread? Trayce Thompson Trayce also big time bloodlines as the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson and the brother of Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson. Thompson made his Major League debut in 2015, appearing in 44 games with the White Sox before being dealt to the Dodgers this winter in the three-team Todd Frazier deal. Thompson was a second-round pick by the White Sox and has shown a nice blend of power and speed, with 20/20 potential as a centerfielder. However he has also shown little plate discipline, striking out 26% of the time with a 6.6% walk rate. He hit well once he was promoted to Chicago this year, hitting .295/.363/.533 in 133 plate appearances with five home runs. His walk rate surged with the White Sox to 9.6% while he cut down on his strikeouts, although there are small sample size issues. Thompson is 24 years old, so his ceiling is not high, but he has power and speed, which the Royals will love, and his right-handed bat could fit in the lineup well. Why don't you just make a thread called Caulfield where you can talk about whatever you want, since staying on topic in ANY thread is just impossible for you
