QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) Spoilers? It's not a new story lol Wait do they get CTE at the end!?!? No, don't tell me
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) What about the Spurs? Put Butler on their team and they're still a championship contender and he's their best player to boot. Lmao, no. Butler is a poor mans Kawhi Leonard, and the Spurs have Kawhi Leonard
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) I believe you but that's ridiculous for a player like Gordon. Man, NFL teams have it made. They get to cut guys and those 8 year deals mean nothing. They don't have to pay up like baseball teams do. Think of all the guys the Sox would have just cut. LaRoche, Dunn, Melky, Rios. yea thats not really true, because the NFL teams have salary caps. Cap hits mean something
  4. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 10:56 AM) Sources: #WhiteSox showing interest in Alex Gordon, among others. Gordon appeals for several reasons: Knows division, LHH, defense, makeup. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/679344296647131140 Question is whether #WhiteSox could pay Gordon enough to pry him from #Royals. Team would be left with Melky, LaRoche, Garcia at RF/DH. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/679344301374087169 #WhiteSox could trade one of those players - preferably LaRoche, who will earn $13M in ’16. Wouldn’t be easy with Alvarez, Carter among FAs. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/679344306247876608 caulfield are you ok with the thread title now
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 08:15 AM) Actually their boss is JR's son . I know someone who knows him quite well. He obviously respects and admires his father but has different ideas about things. Whether he would fire Gar/Pax, I have no idea, but I do know a full house and making the playoffs doesn't trump falling short. The problem I have is it seems the only people who thought swapping out Thibs for the Mayor would or at least could lead to the promised land with basically the same roster, work in the Bulls front office. The hatchet job they did on Thibs when they let him go was unnecessary and disgusting, and they are looking like bigger fools than ever now. Jeff Van Gundy has material for years. Come on DA, lets be real here. Jerry is still owner of the Bulls, Michael may be President/COO, but as long as JR is alive things will continue to be done his way. When Thibs was let go, it wasnt Michael writing that scathing letter that ripped Tom out the door, it was Jerry. The guy is still in the building
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) The thread title definitely needs to be changed since there's almost nothing concrete linking Gordon and the White Sox... Certainly shouldn't be contributing to anyone getting their hopes up when there's almost no smoke at all. The tweets quoted say otherwise but thank you for your concern
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/mike...als-in-mix.html Interesting if he could stay healthy
  8. his coherent words will probably be "Wait, I said WHAT??!?"
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 09:03 AM) Well then, maybe he'll say something coherent on Feb. 29. let us mark our calenders and check
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 08:57 AM) Phil Rogers is drunk 24/7/365
  11. Why do people keep asking when Garpax is getting fired as if they don't know who is Garpaxs boss? They aren't getting fired, people. The team still plays in front of a mostly full crowd, they have been in the playoffs every year for a long streak, Jerry don't give a f***
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) So do GarPax get fired after this season? Hoiberg looks overmatched Ha, this is funny
  13. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) Omar: The proof I have is to look at the scores from 2000 through 2004. How often did you see the Sox score seven, nine runs in a game then get two or none the next few days? I also remember many of those games came (and still do) against garbage, mediocre, soft tossing pitchers who make the Sox hitters look like complete buffoons (Bruce Chen immediately comes to mind...) "Home Run or Nothing" attitude, philosophy leads to those swings in my opinion. I actually still remember focusing in on that after a particularly strong rant from Bill Melton on the post game show after the Sox were handled in Texas by a particularly bad pitcher, I think it was in 2003. Melton blistered Sox hitters for making no adjustments against a soft tossing guy instead simply trying to hit "eight run home runs..." Like you say home runs are needed, I agree but to me the Sox have yet to recapture the balance that helped lead them to a World Series title. More "adjustments" to that attitude are needed including for God's sake getting some guys who can actually catch a baseball and execute fundamentals (which falls directly on the manager and his staff in my mind, that's what spring training is for...) Mark Your proof is a four year stretch of home run numbers for one team in the middle of the steroid era?
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) Jesus this Butler thing is the most overblown, 24 hour media circus story I can remember in a while. For you, everything is the most overblown thing ever
  15. ODB ear-holing Norman was a completely different level of ridiculous.
  16. Harvey looked way too embarrassed for this to be a publicity stunt that he was complicit in
  17. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 09:03 AM) Without Cespedes the Mets would of never reached the World Series. They probably would of never reached the Playoffs without him. That being said, I can't help but wonder, why aren't the Mets going to bring him back ? Am I missing something here.? If the White Sox are going to bid on him, why aren't the Mets even bidding on him? Is he a clubhouse cancer? He has been on 4 teams already. Do these 4 teams know something about him that we don't? IIRC the mets still have severe money issues
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 20, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) The whole Beckham/Josh Norman battle today has been ridiculous. And continues
  19. Well this game sucked
  20. So four players prove your point
  21. And Alan Ball is terrible
  22. Long is having a baaaaaaad stretch
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 20, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) He sucks too. If Bears can sign Danny Trevathan and draft Jaylon Smith, that ILB would be a lot better. Timu hasn't been bad at all. Certainly more noticeable than Jones
  24. Line play is just brutal
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 20, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) I was going to complain about cleaning up dead mice but yours is worse I think I escaped with just a head cold. Three kids throwing up at once was fun, though
