  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) The percentages just aren't in the Bears favor or anyone's favor of finding a top tier QB who do not have one already. It sucks. Even when there is an influx of QB's coming through college its not enough to fill these awful starting QB openings. I want a damn quarterback dammit damn shoot jimminey crickets! Darn it all to heck!
  2. So ESPN has jumped right back on that Tebow wagon FULL STEAM AHEAD! Hey everyone, look at what this (maybe) third stringer did against guys who will be selling insurance in 2 weeks! A former Heisman scored a touchdown in meaningless preseason garbage time, LETS PUMP IT UP!!!
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) Wouldn't a stress fracture have made it very hard to play hurt, and wouldn't that be the kind of thing that would heal very poorly if it weren't diagnosed? I believe so, which is why I think he hurt it in OTAs. All they were saying is that he was owning it when he was practicing.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) If they knew it at the combine, I find it hard to believe that wouldn't have leaked out until now. But the Ryan Pace regime isn't off to a great start. Hopefully this won't do anything to set White back forever, but this is the Bears. If they knew at the combine, then he shouldnt have participated in any OTAs
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 07:49 AM) Isn't that what ongoing investigations will prove? How come people can never (either side of this argument) let the facts rise to the surface BEFORE commenting as if they know for sure? so what you are saying is that we should delete this thread
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 07:24 AM) McDonald or White? It seems to be a failure in free agent scouting, player character evaluation, and medical study of potential draft picks. What medical study could have predicted a stress fracture? Edit: i have read conflicting things. One is that he hurt himself in OTAs, and another that they knew in the combine. If they knew in the combine, then they were stupid to waste a year on a pick. If he hurt himself in OTAs, there isnt anything they could have looked at that would have tipped them off that a stress fracture was coming. He was healthy in college
  7. @ChuckGarfien: Chris Sale in his career against the Cubs: 16 innings, 1 run, 3 walks, 25 strikeouts.
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Would you really want him to be pulled in the 8th or 9th inning with a no-hitter going just because of a pitch count? Yes. I value health over a no hitter
  9. Damn, Laroche has to hit because he is playing first base.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) We do know that Robin doesn't mind leaving him out there for a long time, though. 127 once, IIRC If Robin leaves him out there for 127 in this weather he should have his head examined
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) Sale's PC is getting too high for... you know. I remember Edwin Jackson threw 149 pitches for his when he was with Arizona. Unless he gets a few 3-7 pitch innings in there, "it which shall not be named" will not happen by only him
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) Making Sue Storm the adopted daughter of Dr. Storm...and changing the character of Johnny not only in terms of race but also temperament. He goes from Chris Evans/badass/chick magnet to more reminiscent of a less whiny Shia Lebouf. Chris Evans was anything but a bad ass in F4 1 and 2. I think you are having a case of revisionist criticism
  13. Because someone had to make the thread
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) No challenge? Seriously? It looked like he might have gotten the shin. Nothing definitive
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) I have no idea how Flowers didn't beat him but he's safe. It looked like Flowers was in slow motion after he caught the ball
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:48 AM) Reyes gets salary of Mid 20's for 2016-17. Per year. He actually gets more than Tulo the next 2 + seasons. Another testimonial to the intelligence of GM's across the board. I don't remember the name of the Mets GM who gave Reyes that deal. But now Reyes wants out of Colorado because he wants to play for a winner. Pretty sure the Marlins gave Reyes that deal
  17. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 06:29 PM) I'm acting like Shea is at a new position where one of his major flaws can be covered up.. Jake is also right in his last post. You have acted like this each of the past three years with Shea. He comes into training camp with hype, then he plays
  18. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) For the life of me I'll never understand how a pitcher can pump his fist like he just got the final out of the world series, but a bat flip and a slow trot after a home run means a batter "doesn't know how to play the game right". Man f*** baseball's unwritten rules. Ha! Ain't that the truth
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) C'mon now, you know I'm not trying to say SMC is gonna be Urlacher. I'm just saying not being able to get off blocks isn't something that will automatically set you up for failure at ILB. If your front 3 and 2 OLBs are taking up the 5 OLinemen, which is key, he won't have to get off blocks more often than not. You are acting like we have never seen Shea before.
  20. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) Know who else couldn't shed blocks????? Brian Urlacher. Yea, but every other one of Brians skills were so much better than McLellin. Be real SCS, Urlacher is one of the top players in Bears history, and was one of the best linebackers in the league for pretty much his entire career in the NFL. The only comparison McLellin has is he is white, blonde, and plays football
