Unfortunately, they don't allow you in the delivery room (stays on the bed next to mom) so I had to for 3.5 hours to meet them after the birth. But still more than worth it...instantly changes your philosophy about the world, future, environment, etc. Have your wife try a few different breast nursing holding positions. The baby is probably gulping a bit of air when swallowing. The "football" hold worked best for us, but there are others to try. hitting the feet sounds rather ridiculous and wouldn't accomplish anything
