  1. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 10:28 PM) Oh relax. It's a f***ing ASG. Not the World Series It decides home field advantage FOR the World Series. Kind of a big deal
  2. Are we really all surprised that this game was rigged for Jeter? Lol
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) Fixed. appropriately
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) Cleveland will surely budge on Wiggins. There's just no reason to do so right now. Might as well play chicken. I kind of hope they do. I think Lebron paired with Wiggins for a long time is a lot scarier than Love. Love will give that instant boost, but Wiggins will be better in the long run
  5. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) They kind of are. 3.77 K/9? Yikes. He was always more of a groundball pitcher than a K pitcher
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) Sounds like he's fine. Just good selling on his part. He fooled me a few months ago on a similar move, but I dont remember the refs throwing up the X on it, just that he acted the part. The ref X is worrisome, because that is something the wrestler usually confirms to the ref
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) Well that changes things, but why go that cheap on the #1 overall pick? He still agreed to sign way below slot. There is a piece to this whole puzzle that is missing.

  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 08:48 AM) I'm assuming that Fox is overreacting to the criticism/humor made of her hair in the playoffs last season. I think more along the lines of having to justify the money they have paid her, and Pam Olivers contract is up after this year.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) His workload actually wasn't that high and he was supposedly taken care of and not really handled poorly. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2121883...ers-huge-upside You just never know. High School workloads arent nearly as verifiable as we would like.
  11. Thibs defense is designed for help, it is a unit defense. As long as Mirotic follows his responsibilities he will be fine. You know he wont be requiring as much help as Boozer and Augustin did.
  12. so wait, large high school pitching workloads are bad?
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) Omer was also a great defender, I don't think Mirotic is going to be clogging the lane like Asik was able to. It will be very interesting to see the type of minutes that Dougie and Mirotic get this season. I am certainly not saying Mirotic will be the defender that Asik is, merely that his ability to adapt to the NBA game will be a lot faster than a normal rookie. Basically I dont see Thibs burying him on the bench like he had with Butler and Teague. Although Teague was more because of an inability to be any good
  14. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 09:46 PM) As happy as I am that Abreu chose to not take part in the Home Run Derby, it would have been awesome to watch him hit some bombs. I think he would have killed it.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:10 AM) If the question is "why will this be a hard season for Thibs's D", I can give a couple reasons. Deng not being there for one, having a bunch of newcomers for another. If Thibs deserves the confidence I've got in him then I think he'll deal with that, and could potentially even round some of those guys into solid contributors on D as well...but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking of guys like Snell and Butler who didn't contribute much in their first year and wondering whether Mirotic and McDermott will wind up in that kind of setup because they're not fitting into his defense rapidly enough. The team got a lot better after Deng left last season. It may be coincidental, but after he was traded they made their little run that got them into the middle seed. Everything else here is just looking for problems that arent there. Snell contributed a lot more than Butler did in his first season. And I dont see Mirotic as a regular rookie, i see him in the Asik mold. Thibs got Asik in his regular rotation rather quickly because Omer was used to the grind of a professional season.
  16. Noah also doesnt have to bear the burden of the front court load this season. For once there is a legitimate frontcourt depth on the bulls. Has Nazr been resigned? I mean, we are looking at Noah, Mirotic, Pau, and Taj, and possibly Bairstow if Thibs trusts him. Noahs minutes could be managed effectively
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 08:51 PM) SIU released their schedule today and wow...Brian, Kyyle and myself could go .500 in non conference. Hinson won't schedule tough until he knows the team can take it. He did that stuff with MSU and it cost them at large bids because their OOC RPI dragged them down
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 07:16 PM) Can I get a reason the Bulls D is expected to drop off again? Defensive stalwarts DJ Augustin and Carlos Boozer have left the roster
  19. Sheamus trying to get "fella" over is amusing
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) No, not really. At least in the final game or two, you know much more what you need, etc. I understand a win is a win but in reality, over 162 games, it evens out, and you know in that last week, what you need to do / don't need to do a lot more (in terms of plausible outcomes / scenarios). I don't want replay under any scenarios but if people are worried about the last week or month or whatever, then just do it then. It is awful and bad calls don't keep you out of the playoffs, not over a 162 game season. In the playoffs, I get it. Anytime you say "do it for the last month/final 10 days/playoffs" then the problem always becomes the excluded games. If it doesn't work, slows down the game, then remove it. Picking and choosing when it is used always causes problems
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) Randolph will be traded to Orlando along with 2 second round picks. foooooooooor?
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) What? Wrong reply. The appropriate reply was "Al Lopez"
  23. Guys, think about what the Bulls have. Jimmer. the end
