Who cares what Billy Koch's ERA is if he's winning and saving games while not losing?
-
Holy is definately not a five tool guy. I have nothing against the young man, but he is alot like Joaquin Pheonix in 'Signs'. He swings too hard too often. He needs someone to teach him that making it to the show isn't about hitting the ball out, it's about situation hitting, and being smart at the plate. He has a lot to learn. Cotts is a very good pitcher, who with some polishing could see time in the bigs in a couple of years.

No faith brother... no faith

You all laugh now... but Ritchie is gonna light it up. Thomas is gonna hit .320 too, mark my f***in words.

Ir doesn't matter, if they duked it out, Koch would probably beat the crap out of Roward. No offense to good 'ol Aaron, but Koch is a crazy bastard! That's what we need in a closer. No hold barred.

I think it's funny when old people say f***. Like this one time, my Grandpa said f*** in front of my Grandma, and I started laughing. And then I ate a biscuit.

Always remember, Dempster might be available... and Robert Person is there in the free agent. You shouldn't b**** at JR, I mean, why the hell should he push a team over the edge to win a pennant, when he could pour tons of money into the bulls and watch them lose.
-
You know what would be funny. The sox hire a chimp to run the team. Like in the Simpsons, when homer was suppose to steal Mo's car, and he went to see 'Hail to the Chimp'. I think it would be funny if a chimp was talking on the phone and when someone offered him a trade he'd be like 'Eek Eek, I like bananas'

Royce actually cut his hair and has a full beard. When the Sox drafted him from SCU, I just about s*** my pants, I love that kid. He was actually drafted by the Indians out of hs, but opted to go play for the Aztecs. Royce is going to dominate.:metal

Ryan Dempster!:metal

We're all Sox fans here, can't we all just get along?

I like Flaherty more than Krueter... I don't know if Alomar would be a good choice to be back, cause he might be bitter, and he will definately cost more than Flaherty or Krueter

Don't you people have loyalty... why the hell would want to give up 'the franchise' Paul Konerko, unless its something utterly phenominal

The Sox do still have Ward under contract, but he really isn't all that good. Remember when the Sox were playing National League style offense at the beginning of the season? And they were winning all those games? And then they started losing. Well I don't know how much Ward has to do with that, but they need to find someone that can get these guys motivated and hitting better. I think the Sox should let a guy like Pudge or another former player go in and coach a minor league team and see what he can do, and if he does well, let him shine in the bigs.

I wish we woulda picked up Moss. He's a nasty pitcher who's gonna turn into something special. Good luck to him in SF. For right now, who knows if the Braves want to move anyone. If they can afford it, they might as well keep who they can, because they're stacked. If they are going to give up anyone, don't expect the Sox to be involved. (Still crossing my fingers for Ryan Dempster)

Hideki Matsui signed with the Yankees for about 7 mill a year. How much you wanna bet that he's gonna be a bust?

If Dellaero doesn't want to pitch, then what? He sure can't hit worth s***.

With the addition of a quality starter like Person, our rotation is 10 times better. Buerhle, Garland, Wright, Person, with Rauch, Biddle and Ritchie competing for the final spot. This not only solidifies our rotation, but our bullpen. It gives the Sox alot of options. Let's hope Kenny Williams makes the right decision. :metal

If Ritchie stays out of the Rotation, he would make an exceptional setup man. Loads better than Osuna.

There are always going to be pitchers available through trades (like Ryan Dempster:metal) But there are still some quality pitchers left in the free agent market. Sure, the Sox aren't going to be picking up Maddux or the Rocket, but they could always use another solid starter. Robert Person could be the guy the Sox are looking for. He's 33 years old, so he's not too old, but he's had enough experience to help lead this team. He's got quite an arsenal of pitches. He throws a fastball that hovers around 95 mph. He's also got a hard slider, a good curveball, a splitfinger, and a changeup, which he throws all for strikes. When his fastball gets him ahead in the count, he can take them out with either his vicious slider or his fastball. He's a flyball pitcher, so when he makes mistakes, they often show up on the scoreboard, but his batting average against was around .240, even though his ERA was up around 5. Just a couple of years ago, he won 15 games. He's a solid major league pitcher with good stuff, he could be a vital asset to the Sox if Williams decides to add him to the opening day roster.

Biggio is gonna move to the outfield

Am I the only one that thinks Ritchie will do good? Ritchie does need to mix up his pitches some more, because he seems to get into trouble when he relies strictly on his powerful fastball and his slider. He's more of a power pitcher that likes to stick to those two pitches and challenge hitters. His curveball is decent, but could use some polishing, and his splitfinger is pretty good. Neither of those pitches will matter too much if he doesn't use them more. He needs to start being a thinking man's pitcher, instead of acting like an invincible rookie. I think if Ritchie learns to utilize all his tools, he will be successful.
