  1. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:23 AM) Do you have faith in the Sox scoring 3 or more runs? *cough*
  2. It's depressing that June is almost here and Thome and Konerko are still hovering around .200
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) Yeah great he got a quality start. It was his season low for strikeouts with 2, also first time all season he gave up multiple home runs. He also walked two guys. Not a great line, not terrible either. But keep in mind he was facing the Indians whose offense had been terrible. I wonder how a team with an offense that was clicking would have handled Vazquez. You're right. Any pitcher who has at least one loss the rest of the season should be released.
  4. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) LOL, good luck scoring those 3 runs today. I hope you're not a motivational speaker.
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:23 AM) Do you have faith in the Sox scoring 3 or more runs? Yes
  6. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 28, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) It sucks to know the game is already over in the 1st inning. It is?
  7. A DP would be very beneficial right now.

  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:11 AM) The poll was conducted the day of the Michigan primary, not recently. So, it reflects the minds of the people back when the vote was originally cast. How many people were giving accurate answers to polling back then. Everyone thought their vote wouldn't count so how can you put stock in their answers?
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) The caveat provided there is everything. I mean, I'm sorry, but this is a ridiculous stretch. We are saying that it somehow reflects badly on John McCain that one of this economic advisers lobbies for a major Intl bank, which also happens to have an arm (private banking - 100% unrelated to mortgage banking, BTW) that may or may not be under some legal scrutiny? I agree. I was just posting what little detail I could find on the matter.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:28 AM) Why is this such a problem? I mean, I'm no Phil Gramm fan, so I'm not sure I think he's a great choice for McCain in that role. But if you are going to have people on your economics committee, then chances are, some will be current or former lobbyists - that isn't necessarily a bad thing. From TPM:

QUOTE (daa84 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:06 AM) wasnt ragging on it, and dont get me wrong, i greatly enjoy playing it, but (and im sorry if you are one) i cant stand the homos who take it so seriously that they like get upset and pissed if they lose and take it like its a religion...my attitude is always, settle down were just havin fun tryin to get drunk Is that really necessary?
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 28, 2008 -> 08:05 AM) This warrants it's own thread in my opinion. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24848910/ I can't believe that. Sadam was the mastermind behind 9/11, was involved in Al Qaeada, and was a mere few weeks away from using WMDs on U.S. soil.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:03 AM) Saw Indy last night. The phrases "ham-handed" and "over-the-top" are understatements. Of the handful of people I know that have seen it, none have told me I should go check it out.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 28, 2008 -> 06:18 AM) Cabrera has some things to say: "If it happens again, I will call again," Cabrera said. "I don't have to do it with other teams because they always had my back. They don't want to do it here, I can take care of my own business. If you have a problem with what I did, come to me and say something. Don't go to the media to send a message, because he didn't send any message." "I never had anybody complain about that stuff," said Cabrera, who won his second Gold Glove Award last season with the Los Angeles Angels. "If there was a major-league player who tells me he's not selfish, he's lying. Everyone is selfish about numbers, because that's the only thing people cannot lie about. That's it. It's not a big deal. I don't know who's trying to make this a big deal. Maybe it's the media, maybe it's the manager. And nobody is complaining about that stuff. Nobody cares about that." What a jack off.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 27, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) Toyota Prius? Only GHEYS deadlift that. I deadlift Ford Excursions. Touche.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 27, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) It's also a limited skill activity. Anyone can play -- even women! As opposed to the Toyota Prius deadlifts you perform at tailgating?

For some reason I thought this was the "J4L is headed for the slammer" thread.

I enjoyed Iron Man. Would love to have seen a darker version from the mind of Christopher Nolan. Overall a fun movie though.
  21. These potential VP comparisons are pretty meaningless now and they will be until there are 2 candidates left and we are in full general election mode. There's no way to get an accurate gauge of Dems as long as Hillary supporters still think she has a chance.
  22. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 27, 2008 -> 07:29 AM) That also reminds me of that guy that comes on those late night commercials to sell various gadgets and trinkets who screams at the top of his lungs. The guy with the beard, I don't know his name. That guy kills me. He sells so much crap but he really does make me feel like I need to buy it all.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 27, 2008 -> 07:37 AM) Its possible that McCain wins this year, but I doubt it. I think the Dem candidates are just too strong. More importantly, Obama is just too strong. Compare him to Kerry in '04, Gore on '00... he's just a far better candidate than either of them, and so were Clinton, Edwards and Richardson. If the Congressional races are any indication this should be a Dem year for the White House.
  24. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 26, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Because of this, I have now changed my default search engine to yahoo. I know it won't do anything in the wide spectrum of things, but I cannot use a product that refuses to recognize the great servicemen of our country, but will celebrate St. Patrick's Day and even commercial holidays such as Valentine's Day. Sorry but that might be the most ridiculous thing I've seen posted in here in quite some time. Will you ban all other products and companies that do not have a tribute to Memorial Day in some way? I drove by our movie theater today and saw no flag....won't be going there ever again. The homeless shelter down the block didn't have a flag in front. Guess I'll be volunteering at a different one now. ESPN.com didn't commemorate the holiday on their main page. Deleted them as a bookmark. In fact, I see nothing on the Soxtalk main page. Guess I'll stop visiting here too and you probably will too.
