  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) I think two other teams were after him, one being the Red Sox. he originally wanted a deal the size of kaz matsui (something like 21-24 million for 3 years) but unfortunately for him, and fortunately for us, matsui drove down the value of japanese middle infielders! had the interest not dwindled and he been able to sign for that amount, he would have been on the Bosox or Dodgers.
  2. QUOTE(juddling @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Maybe if Freddie goes to Baltimore the great Leo Mazzone can maybe show him how to hold a runner on 1st base. that seems to be the consensus idea. mazzone can make any pitcher a god... oh wait, why does daniel cabrera still walk so many people? why did tim hudson get worse last year?? maybe mazzone just got lucky with smoltz, maddux, and glavine all coming around at the same time... that b****.
  3. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 07:30 AM) i started watching this season and this show is hilarious, definitely one of the funniest shows out there well, it would have been hard to start watching last season, because it didnt exist.
  4. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) DAMN!!..... wow. that's one happy moose.
  5. I'm sorry, but we should all be outraged, and so should kenny. According to Freddy, he isn't giving 100% unless he deams its against teams that matter. Trade this fat sweaty f*** and be done with him. He should be off the team for admitting that.
  6. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) Tomorrow on Baseball Tonight, it's the Sox turn for the top three web gems in franchise history (well, since TV began). What's everyones top 3? I can only think of recent ones off the top of my head, but here they are. 3. Fisk tagging two yankees out at home (the play from the pregame video) 2. Iguchi's play against Toronto earlier this year 1. Uribe diving into the stands in Houston you nailed them.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) I downloaded Znes and than found the pilotwings rom. I am having a hell of a time parachuting. I got my stage 1 and did perfect on the first two parts (plane and rocket) but than did horrid on the parachute and failed. I had a problem figuring out how to break, but finally realized z and x are the a and b buttons. i love parachuting. i always land on the moving platform the the 100 bonus, and then the instructor's eye's get all wide and he/she starts sweating. stupid instructors.
  8. i can't find another picture of her anywhere, and myspace is blocked at work. anyone mind posting them so i can make a judgement? the one in that first post is not very telling.
  9. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) BTW Yankees fans may be bad, but Boston fans are the worst. At the Cell at least. absolutely agreed. they think they own the baseball world. so so so so so annoying!
  10. nice. chicago yankee fans are trash.

I had the best emulator in the world for SNES... i think it was from emulationstation.com or something like that... it was perfect. i have a super nintendo i hook up from time to time... and pilotwings is always perfect, but ill be damned if that helicopter level isnt hard!
  12. QUOTE(rowand @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Yansy, shut your F'in mouth. There is no reason to tear down Brandon. He doesn't look like he needs it, wait, no one needs it. IT wasen't constructive criticism. It wont make him better or happier with this org, which he is the future of. I picked Buehrle because of his success in the pen. He has done it in the past more than the others. He is also a lefty, but then again we would have 0 Lefty starting pitchers. But then again I am not a big fan of the LEfty/Righty decisions. Just because a hitter gets 30 hits out of 100 abs (official) against a lefty and only 23 out of 100 (official) against a righty, I dont see the reason to worry about it too much. bro, all YAS said was that ozzie's probably sick of hearing it... take it easy.
  13. wish i woulda bought some google stock 6 years ago, dammit. it's hard to believe that just 5 years ago, Yahoo! was number one by a long shot. Google has really supplanted them as the number one resources for... well, anything.
  14. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) I hope this is a sign of things to come for sure, but like G&T said, the numbers might be skewed a bit I think its been quite obvious that the White Sox play well against the better teams. See Playoffs 05. This team rises to the ocassion mostly.
  15. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2544230 Kinda sad, a guy can have all the talent in the world and just not "get it". not sad. he made his own bed... be sad for the guy who couldn't play football because of a degenerative hip condition or something. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) The guy's wearing a bullet proof vest with about 4 guns and an assault rifle in the car and tries to resist arrest. I'm sorry, this prick needs to be locked up for a long time. He's not a football player, he's a thug and needs to rot in a cell. exactly. he's a P.O.S.

QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) I hated that character. Glad they got rid of him fast. agreed. that dude also appeared in a few episodes of the disappointing "The Wire" QUOTE(BobDylan @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) The Ari Gold game: http://www.hbo.com/entourage/games/ari_interview/index.html yeah, I did that a few weeks ago. he hired me! .
  17. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) I have a lot of confidence going into the second interview because I thought I did great in the first one. I just have to continue to do what I did in the first round of interviews. But you're right, the first interview I was just myself instead of telling them what they wanted to hear and things went fantastic. Go get em aboz. The second interview is key. Make sure to ask about the company, but just be yourself. My first few interviews, I was just trying to impress to no avail. Like i said, I was offered the final three just because I was being myself. Good luck man.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) haven't bought new much, but if you want some older stuff, I recently went through my CDs and uncovered some great stuff I haven't listened to in awhile -the first Foo Fighters album (self-titled I believe). It's all Dave Grohl and it kicks major ass -something older that I threw in last week and was reminded how great it is is Bowie's Ziggy Stardust yeah, i own both of those albums already... the foo fighters is the one with the pistol on it, correct? i love dave grohl. very good recommendations. keep them coming people!
  19. QUOTE(rowand @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) Mark should be given 1 more chance to start. If he throws well, he can stay in the rotation. If not, why not put him in the bullpen? He has done it before and succeeded. He is much better suited for the bullpen than McCarthy, a career starter. Ozzie, shut the hell up. You continue to cut down Mc - "Hes not friggin Cy Young", and "He pitched bad for us last year, check the stats". CHECK YOUR F IN MOUTH OZ. He is the future. He has excelled when he gets to START. Throw JD into center field and see what happens. He won't be as well as he would be in right, where he has played. Buehrle is flexible and his arm is tired. Let him be an effective lefty out of the bullpen. We will need him in this stretch. I would do it now, but Ozzie may need another poor start to see it. Why not change it now when it looks like the team may be about to turn the corner? Come on Oz, let's be a manager instead of a player. Nope. I don't care if Mark is struggling, he's earned the right to work out the issues. That last start would have been fine if it weren't for a bad call. Let him work it out.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) Did you feel the same with Frank last offseason? ha, no. there's quite a difference between Frank's performance last season and JD's performances... and also, for the last 3 years, JD has been healthy, while frank hasn't played a full season in years. your comparison is way off.
  21. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:10 AM) You don't sign a 33 year old with an injury past to a long term deal. We have Dye for one more after this and if continues to put up the numbers next year, you maybe offer a two-year extension. But, I would not sign him long-term because as a team you need bargain guys and he is too old to offer a long-term extension to. i dont give a darn about baseball business. at this point, JD has earned it, and to hell with what business says, reward him for what he has done and lock him up for a few more years.
  22. I really need a new album. Audioslave has another album coming out in a month, but I'm wary of it. I adored the first album... and have always been a fan of Chris Cornell's work despite his antics. However, Audioslave's second album was not nearly as well done as the first, and the first single off of their newest album, "Original Fire" was a tad too funky. It starts out ok, but when they get to the messed up solo (a keen ripoff to the wacky solo that really works in "Like a Stone," off of the first album) it just kind of fell off. I hope the full album flows well. If anyone has some alternative/rock albums that they have purchased in the last few months that blew them away, please PM me, or respond in this thread.
  23. my point was more claiming that we should give him a phat raise and extend him as well. i don't know if JD could catch Big Papi, but he does have a leg up in the fact that he does field a position, and rather well. the best thing about JD is the fact that he is humble, and he is a good guy. i remember, right after we signed him, he was on MTV's cribs. Normally not a show I watch, but Dye was on it. He's got a nice pad, and a shrine to Garth Brooks. He's such a relief from some athletes like Manny Ramirez and the Cincinatti Bengals. Ah looove JD. yes.
  24. I must say, throughout this season, I have claimed that Jim Thome, not Jermaine Dye, was our team's MVP, because of the effect his presence has had on the entire lineup. However, from World Series MVP to now, I must change my vote to Jermaine Dye. Though I understand that Thome may have had an effect at the beginning of the season, Jermaine Dye has risen to the top of baseball's outfielders. He has absolutely killed the ball this season, and always seems to come up with the big hit. Am I the only person who thinks that at the end of the season, rather than activating Dye's option for another year, the White Sox should offer him a new, 3-year deal, at around 10-12 mill per season? I think it is the right thing to do, at this point. He has more than earned that money, and should be locked up for a few more years, at least until the end of his prime. I don't care who we have in AAA (hell left field should be open!)
