QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) Not meaning to flame at all, but do the Rays losing to the same team two years in a row and getting faceplanted AT HOME by Texas change anybody's opinion of Maddon and/or Martinez? Texas is good, but what's up with getting smoked at home like that two years in a row? I don't think that woulda played well if it had been the Sox in the playoffs losing to the same team two years in a row and getting eliminated at the Cell. I realize Maddon/Martinez did a nice job rallying past Boston, but quick exits in the playoffs are not ideal. I don't know. I guess I'd rather a team with a payroll 100 million lower than the one it beat for the wildcard make it to the dance. Ozzie's overpaid White Sox can't even get to the dance, and the last time they did the Rays gave then a swift ass whooping.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) It is nice to see the Hawks with some depth again. God I can't wait for hockey. I'm pretty unsure that Bickell on your 3rd line = depth. I expect Olesz up there swiftly, but this certainly is not the 2010 team yet. I love the D, though. Montador is a monster.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) Netflix just stopped working on my Sony GoogleTV. Worked fine on that TV last night, works fine on my Xbox but on the TV itself I can get to the browsing menus but I can't actually select anything. Damn technology. Sometimes the most baffling changes in performance can be fixed by unplugging, counting to 10, and the plugging back in...

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) Top 50 greatest porn stars I'm so happy that I can only name three. Sadly, one is a dude.

QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 10:04 PM) Yep and just makes it his is the manager, 140-22, next year... and 16-0 in the playoffs. 16 wins in the playoffs sure would be something.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) I did not know this. Thanks for that. I believe I heard his wife is from and has family in Chicago.

QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Thats a sweet deal, unfortunately for me the last blockbuster I knew of shut down about 2 weeks ago around me.. Ive been thinking of trying the gamefly route Let me know if you like it.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) Seems rather limited, though, right? I mean, unless you go back to the early days of baseball, you've got like 2 basketball teams, 4 hockey, and 1 football. Absolutely include baseball... and there's WAY more than you'd think in the sports listed above.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) You guys pull all my quotes out of context whenever I make a long post. Ridiculous. Take notice Ozzie haters.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) Where do you get that from? By all accounts when people in his life have been interviewed they've said he's a really good down to earth guy. I met him a few weeks ago at a bar and he was as nice as can be. It's just further incorrect proliferation of rumor of Cutler as asshat, and until he gets an O-Line and someone who can catch a football, it will continue. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) That Kane line is going to be deadly. Bank on it. It actually is going to work out well, because Hossa inherently does most of what a center should do in his own zone. The pairing of both of them on a line might be absolutely brilliant.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) shes hot yet, and ill grant him that. is it stylish? maybe. ill even grant you that. But it just looks so forced when its on cutler. There are some people who can pull off a look like that, and it works for them. There are some who you see like that and you just want to punch in the face. Cutler falls into the latter category for me. Hes just a dude with an enormous ego, and he irritates the hell out of me, even though I should have every reason to love the guy Absolutely. He probably whined about their shopping endeavor and refused to shop through an injury as well, right? -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) Let them. Beltre was one of the best players at his position for the duration of his time there. Yeah, he never put up '04 numbers. But blame management for expecting numbers like that at Safeco. Yeah, I know he was barely worth the contract, of course. However, he greatly underplayed expectations. Everywhere since then he's been a complete monster. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) Yeah, I still don't like that contract in '14 and '15. There was the 'he only produces in contract years' perception. That's been debunked. Just a really, really good baseball player. Everyone in Seattle vehemently disagrees. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) Whatever you say. There was no cliffhanger. Just watch "Homeland" already so we can talk about that instead!
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) So how soon until we interview Martinez? QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) 5 minutes ago would have been a good time. This. He's going to get multiple offers.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) If Gale dies, Walt lives. Gus would need him. Straight forward. There were still plenty of "what ifs" to warrant being called a cliffhanger, in my book.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) not my quarterback Why? Because he's got style and a hottie? -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) And it was still a cliff hanger. Jesse is standing there with a smoking gun and a dead body, Walt is being held hostage. That's a cliffhanger ending in my book. Exactly.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Early line predictions from Jesse Rogers (ESPN Chicago) & from practice today: Sharp/Toews/Saad Brunette/Kane/Hossa Bickell/Bolland/Frolik Mayers/Smith/Olesz Keith/Leddy Hammer/Seabrook Montador/Scott ODonnell/Lepisto Nothing like going from the 2nd round of the draft directly to a line with Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews on the NHL's most-popular franchise.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) That's just a problem with the average American. They have to be punched in the face to see anything. It was blatantly obvious that he killed Gale. But what happened to Walter? They couldn't possibly know every outcome that was revealed in that first episode.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Hawks agree to a contract with 2nd round pick Brandon Saad, 18, so he will probably start the season with the big club.. He is too young to play for Rockford. He can play up to 9 games with the Hawks and still be sent back to his junior team, if he plays more than that, he is on the roster for the whole season. Is it Friday, yet?
-
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) Is it only based on the last season? Probably not. Carry on, all.

Take notice, Ozzie haters.

What on Earth do you have to do to qualify as Type A? Mark Buehrle threw 205 innings with a 3.59 era.
