  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) The Heat were supposed to win 75 games. They didn't. So they weren't trying? Only complete idiots thought the Heat would break the 72-10 record with their lack of depth.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) What I'm saying is why are the Bulls supposed to be a harder working team? The Heat had their issues earlier. But it wasn't because of lack of work ethic. It's all about expectations. The Heat were supposed to win 75 games. They didn't. So they weren't trying? Seriously, man, the Heat had stretches where it was evident their work ethic wasn't at 100%. The Bulls spent all year running and playing big minutes and Thibs losing his s*** on the sidelines. The Bulls are the quintessential "high-effort" team, and it showed when they used that effort to sweep the Heat in the regular season.
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) You can't just sit there looking surprised when Keith Bogans and Luol Deng miss open 3's.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) I don't understand this. And you're not the only person that says this. Because their three best players are superstars they're less inclined to try as hard as a bunch of roleplayers? Jordan, Pippen and Rodman ring a bell? LeBron's d has infinitely improved over the last few years. Wade has always been a good defensive player. Bosh played for a s***ty Toronto team. So nobody noticed his defensive abilities (think Ron Harper when he was with the Clippers). Wow. How often did we see the Heat getting beat by above .500 teams this year? In retrospect, they were still learning to play together and blah blah, but they looked flat out lazy and over-matched against good, deep teams for the better part of an 82 game schedule. Poor shot selection seemed to be dooming them against teams that made them work. If you don't agree with this you either watched nothing in the regular season (I know that's not true) or have very short-term, selective memory.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) I can't predict injuries. Rose could get decapitated tonight and Steve would end his life. Accurate post is accurate. Hopefully the good Lord doesn't want to cut down yet another young Bulls point guard 10 years after the last.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) Miami's defense has been the thing that shocked me about this series. It has been other-worldly this series. I don't know how Spoo got them to buy into it, but it is working. Their effort is what has surprised me. I never expected them to match the Bulls in work ethic.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) After game 2 I said exactly this. I've totally changed my tune. Miami is blowing me away with how they're beating the Bulls despite the Bulls throwing the kitchen sink at them on defense. Miami is out-offensing the bulls and out-defensing the Bulls. That's blowing me away. That's it. Bulls are winning this series.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 26, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) This will be the first NBA finals since 1979 that does not feature at least 1 of these players: Magic Johnson Larry Bird Michael Jordan Isiah Thomas Hakeem Olajuwan Shaquille O'Neal Tim Duncan Kobe Bryant That's pretty crazy.
  9. Two of my favorite posters... ...and then there's juddling Happy Birthday to all three!
  10. The human victory cigar better suit up tonight... he's a good luck charm.
  11. That's career-altering for Posey, imo. At best, he's done catching.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) Reviews seem like if you liked the first and can take the exact same thing, you will like it. I'm in that party. Exactly. I just want to hang with these dudes for two more hours and laugh my ass off.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) 529 G .265 BA 134 HR 369 RBI .391 OBP .542 SLG .933 OPS 138 OPS+ in 4 seasons. If that is useless, I want a whole team of useless. If this really is a new "pitcher's era" hitting becomes more important, not less, because it is harder to replace. Jim Thome clogs up the basepaths.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) Anybody on this team that also played on a Sox team with Thome should be traded immediately. I'm so sick of watching all these guys do the Thome: You know, close your eyes and swing hard as f*** at everything. We've been all or nothing for so long I can't even remember what team baseball looks like. Thanks Jim. Your poison still remains, potent as ever...sucking the soul out of once line-drive hitters. Even poor young Beckham has a BS pull swing now. It's too bad Ozzie is gonna take the blame for all the long swings. Yes. Let's blame Jim Thome and not our hitting coach.
  15. I'll be seeing Hangover II tomorrow night. I cannot wait.

    QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) The SNL this weekend with Timberlake was awesome. I think Justin is the new Baldwin.. Yeah, his episodes are can't miss.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 26, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) Holy s*** Heavy Rain is addictive. Been playing for over 7 hours straight now......lol. Yeah, I really enjoyed that when it came out.
  18. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Rios: There are MAYBE 10 actual, legit CF's in baseball and he is one of them. Did you not get the memo!?!?! "Alex Rios Sucks"
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:32 AM) Only SGs that interest ms this summer are Ray Allen and Caron Butler. I know, CBA, I know. Would love to see Ray Allen in the corner as Rose drives the lane. Now is not the time to buy on Ray Allen. He looked like his age is finally catching up to him the last month of the season and in the playoffs. Caron Butler? Hmmm, maybe. Other options are the aforementioned Afflalo and Jason Richardson.

    QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 25, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) How was Tosh last night? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=2387281
  21. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ May 25, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) He is the biggest waste of money that I can remember. In my entire Sox fandom, I don't think I have hated anyone more. At least Dunn knows he's sucking and admitting. Rios doesn't seem to give a sh*t.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 05:55 PM) MERCY What a beast. What's the recovery time on a fractured (I assume hairline?) fibula? I assume all-systems go for 2011-2012 (if applicable).
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 25, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) I'm sure you want all of them to be like Jonathan Toews, perfect men. He wears a tie under his hockey jersey! I love this guy!
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) Reviews don't count. He's still striking out in 35% of his at bats, his OPS is only .812 in Charlotte. AND he's 25.
