QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:57 AM) Apparently Kane really loves Savvy. It was a cool way to show a tribute to him. Well, yeah, the kid cried when Savard was fired... he's a father figure for sure.

Niemi stepped up, big time. I loved Kaner's attempt at a Savvy special. Niemi starts the next game, gotta create confidence. LOVED THAT GAME.

White Sox Jerseys.
QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Don't get me wrong. I like Urlacher. It's just that I think that he's overhyped by quite a few Bears fans. Jeremy, you could not be more off. It's actually cool and fashionable to hate on Brian Urlacher and say he's been overrated, but just look at how the defense on the whole collapses without him in the lineup. He calls the defensive audibles, he takes away anything over the middle, and when healthy this season will prove how good he is again.

Jared Mitchell is playing like a #1 prospect
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) I think this speaks to the greatness of Beckham. Did we ever even consider him a prospect? Seems like we viewed him as a major league ballplayer from the get go. If that draft got a do-over, where does Gordon go?

I honestly thought this thread was going to be about steroids.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 02:05 AM) Lower hitting difficulty to rookie for a few games, timing only matters there. Just focus on swinging if it looks like its in the zone. Then try without guessing pitches to start getting the timing down. Once you get that figured out move back up to veteran because getting timing and strike zone recognition down while also worry about getting the location of the pitch with the analog is impossible, thats what I did last year and this year to improve my hitting. Then again I'm still really s***ty at hitting haha. That's a good recommendation.

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 08:17 AM) With the amount of improvement that we've seen in Rose's mid-range jumper this season, especially in the 2nd half, I have to think it's only a matter of time before the 3 pointer enters his arsenal. Yeah, D-Rose has really developed a deadly mid-ranger. I agree completely that he should wind up more than capable of hitting 3 pointers.

New Sox Podcast
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:54 AM) It's something that I think we could possibly get going on here again (we had one with Mario and Jason a couple of years back). We certainly have enough informed fans on the board. A rotating group could lessen the burden.

Jared Mitchell is playing like a #1 prospect
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 07:28 AM) You have to watch the irrational excitement early in spring training. For one thing many guys are still working more with their fastballs to try to build arm strength. They are also not able to throw nearly as sharp of breaking stuff as they will feature when they move north. That doesn't mean that Mitchell isn't doing well, but he could be getting a little help. Didn't Wilson Betemit rake last ST?

Viciedo loafing draws the attention of KW
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) You dont get the chance to make this mistake twice with Ozzie and Kenny ...which only further illustrates my love with the Chicago White Sox.

All of this love of Teahen is reminding me of how we all fell in love with Swisher and got our hearts broken. Hopefully he does not disappoint.

Hm. If you add Rolle and Peppers to this defense, we might stand a chance next year. Then give the Cardinals the third they want for Boldin? Let's make it an all Bears offseason.

Video Game Catch-All Thread
Heavy Rain was the s***. I finished it last night. It's actually crazy the many different ways the story is ending for different people. It also lets you go back and replay certain scenes to see what you could have done differently. I don't think I'll play it again, though, but on the difficulty setting I was on it took a bit over 10 hours of gameplay. I just traded it to Gamestop for $40 and picked up an oldie I'd never played (GTA IV) and NBA 2k10 to improve my collection.

3/4 GAME THREAD: Spring Training Game ONE
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) Correct lineup: Pierre - LF Beckham - 2B AJ - C Jones - CF Teahen - 3B Ramirez - SS Kotsay - DH Viciedo - 1B Danks2 - RF I'll definitely have to DVR this. Is there ANY chance Jordan Danks is ready this year? EDIT: Nevermind, sub .700 OPS in AA last year.
