  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Pierre Beckham Damon Quentin Konerko Pierzynski Rios Teahen Ramirez Makes the most sense. Swap Damon and Beckham and I agree.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) 744 posts and not one photoshopped image of Damon in a Sox uni? ugh. Fine. Don't ridicule it's s***tiness. I want to leave for lunch.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 11:19 AM) we are now at Ludicrous Speed LUDA!!!!!!
  4. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 08:11 AM) I think if JR gets involved, we may see a raise in price. It has been said that JR recently screwed things up with Doug Collins and Mike D'Antoni... but from what I understand those were situations with their own specific nuances. He obviously got it done getting personally involved in the Ben Wallace thing. That's because Reinsdorf cares much less about the Bulls than he does the Sox... fortunately and unfortunately. If JR is involved, he's going to find out how much Damon wants, and he's going to hear that Damon prefers the White Sox to the Tigers, but no person in their right mind would leave a contract twice to three times the size on the table. Kenny is going to play the "I've always wanted him" card, Jerry's going to ask him how many of these guys are out there, and how many more he needs to sign this offseason (Jones, Vizquel, hell we'll count Peavy), then KW will say "come Onnnnnnnnnnnn." Sox will sign up Damon at 1 year, 6.25 million today is my best guess.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) I'm really excited about this. It's great to know that we're make a legit play here. Really, the great characters within the organization are... if the Sox were serious, they'd up their bid by 2.5 million and he'd sign. Obviously, he wants the White Sox, but the money (somehow) is in Detroit.
  6. When you have AJ and the Hawkeroo involved, anything can happen.
  7. That'd be a pretty money deal. We're at the tip of what I believe Noah will provide (not that I'm complaining). If you can get Bosh, you do it. He'll sign with the Bulls.

    QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) You should listen to the podcast. He brings all of these points up. I think what bothered him the most was A: that he could fit in the seat with no seatbelt extenders and the armrests lowered, B: that the ticket woman was claiming that the pilot wanted him off the plane when it didn't appear that the pilot could even see his seat, and C: that neither of the women seated next to him had any objection (or any space invasion) to him sitting there. There were larger people than him sitting on the plane with no objections (again, his words) and he felt that he was singled out. Just from listening to the podcast (and being a regular listener of it), I doubt he was a prick to anyone on the plane. He always seems to have a firm grasp on the fact that he's fat, and that he can afford to buy two seats (and usually does). I'm sure after all this, he probably just wishes he'd have waited for his regularly scheduled flight. I should listen to the Podcast.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) So, how many venues are left that haven't experienced operational problems? Canada is teh suck. Yet, I like it.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Verlander has got to be one of the more overrated players in the AL, imo. What an epically incorrect post.

    If you intrude on someone else's space, then you get off the plane or plan ahead and get yourself two seats. Lord knows Smith can afford it.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Yes, I want him in Minnesota, because I don't want baseball to be the type of sport where a team like Minny can't keep a guy like him. THIS
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) If I'm still here in 2014 years, that's a trip to Cooperstown I'm making. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you won't be.
  14. Gordon Beckham (CWS - 3B,SS) Ryan Braun (Mil - OF) Orlando Hudson (Min - 2B) Matt Kemp (LAD - OF) Derrek Lee (ChC - 1B) Andrew McCutchen (Pit - OF) Miguel Montero (Ari - C) Nyjer Morgan (Was - OF) B.J. Upton (TB - OF) Ben Zobrist (TB - 2B,SS,OF) Mark Buehrle (CWS - SP) Neftali Feliz (Tex - SP,RP) Jason Frasor (Tor - RP) Mike González (Bal - RP) Cole Hamels (Phi - SP) Clayton Kershaw (LAD - SP) Ted Lilly (ChC - SP) Jeff Niemann (TB - SP,RP) Fernando Rodney (LAA - RP) Ricky Romero (Tor - SP) CC Sabathia (NYY - SP) George Sherrill (LAD - RP) If you want Beckham, let's chat. At the moment, I'm leaning towards keeping Braun, Kemp, Beckham, Sabathia and one of Hamels/Kershaw, but if you want anyone on the list above we can chat. I'm interested in trading two for one, and Braun/Kemp/Sabathia will be staying.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Were you in a league with retards or super retards? How did you get all those guys? He sets the draft time up and is the only one who shows up each year.
  16. Originally I was all hot for my Palm Pre, but over the months since getting it at launch it has yielded more problems than it is worth. At best, it may or may not work with your work email if you have Exchange. Every app worth a s*** costs money. The webOS is quite awesome, and if they fixed this little problems with it, it'd be great, but at this point, I just want something that f***ing works. It's a slick little phone, but the no work e-mail has me looking forward to a Blackberry when I decide to cut my losses.
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) Just finished the Heavy Rain demo. Control scheme was awkward, but was easy once I got used to it. I think I'll probably get the game. I started the demo (hooker interrogation) and then quickly realized I didn't want to play too much of it... I want to savor the experience. It is awesome. It was weird figuring out the walking, until you realized its just a head turn and move. I liked shoving the door in the broad's face, and being completely non-compassionate about her kid missing. Heh. This game is definitely going to require many play throughs just to know how different choices change things up.
  18. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) If I'm PHX, I go with the Beasley deal from Miami for sure though. The moment that was offered I'd have just said "yes".
  19. The White Sox really should sign JD when Damon doesn't work out.
  20. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) I said this last night & people acted as if I was speaking blasphemous. People are quick to forget how awesome that team is with all the injuries they've had. They'll hopefully get rolling soon.
  21. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Georgian luger dies after crash, http://sports.espn.go.com/olympics/winter/...tory?id=4909034 They way he apparently died is just brutal. 90 mph over the ledge and into a metal pole? Something has to change with the course before the live event. That's awful.
  22. Um, this trade is money. Kim Johnsson is a heck of a defenseman who can contribute on the offensive end. Johnsson is an upgrade for this year's roster, is a UFA, and comes with a 1st round defenseman. Here's a nice article on Leddy. Nick Leddy 2009 Prospect Great, great trade.
  23. He keeps saying he's "really happy to retire here as a Chicago White Sox player." Does that mean they did the ceremonial one-day contract?
  24. Here we go. Gene Honda for the win.
