  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) I need to stop becoming invested in teams that when push comes to shove, don't seem to give a damn. That's why i love the Sox they work their asses off despite limitations, these Hawks insist on being dominated by them. A team coming back from a 3 goal deficit on the road clearly doesn't give a damn. gmafb
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) I forgot. He is doing exactly what he is paid to do.... And Burish with some real chicken s*** at the end of the game. Ugh. Yup, fitting right in as mr. invisible. s***ty in the defensive zone, not creating anything offensively, and 'qbing' the SECOND pp unit, as cam barker is deservedly running the blue line on the first unit. f***ing waste. Not the first time he's done this in the playoffs, either.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) So happy our 7 million dollar man has decided to show up these series. Been invisible, other than a meaningless secondary assist on the Kane/Sharp goal in Game 2. What a waste. Oh no you didn't!
  4. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) Gotcha. Gracias. Oh well, still got a period to go. Either way, it could and should have been called. That hurt. And now 3-1 on some sloppy d coverage. f*** me.
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) I hate Beckett, but I hate stupid umpires a lot more. So what if it was a long set by Beckett. You still don't call time when he was in the process of throwing. That can injury the pitcher. It should be a new rule where umpires can only call time when they are 100% sure the pitcher isn't in the process of throwing. Also, have you ever been in the process of throwing ball, and right before you do, someone screams stop? If so, you'll realize that in that situation, you'll be distracted and the ball will likely go no where where you intended it to. Oh, and I wouldn't like it either if Abreu was yelling at me for that s*** as well. I could very well see how someone could get pissed at Abreu about that. Beckett took way too long to deliver. How Abreu didn't ask for time after about 5 seconds, I don't know. And time was called before he went into his delivery. Beckett didn't see it because he was looking at the runner on 2nd. I'd like to know how you'd go about predicting when a pitcher will start his delivery. It could have been any of those TEN SECONDS. But it was called before deliver. No umpire will call time after a pitcher has already started his delivery. You're seeing it wrong.
  6. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) So why dont they review that high stick? He's obviously bleeding because of it and it should be a double minor. They reviewed the one earlier in the season that f***ed us on a goal (Kane did it, forget who it was against). You can't review it. If a linesman saw it, they can confer with the referees and then a double minor or major can be called. In this case a double minor.
  7. QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) I know the Hawks don't want to take a dumb retaliation penalty, but they can't keep turning the other cheek. When it comes to after the whistle stuff...yes, they can and they better
  8. I don't know. If he's not playing through something, that's bulls***. However if he has a concussion, which in theory is possible, then nothing can be said. Not sure.
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) I think the suspensions are uncalled for anyway. He wasn't throwing at Abreu, and if anything, Abreu overreacted. The reason why the pitch was high and tight was because Beckett's release angle on the pitch got all messed up when he saw the umpire stop and call for time when he was in the middle of throwing. Hell, I'd suspend that umpire for calling time when a pitcher was in the process of throwing. If a batter asks for time, you don't need to grant it. The MLB has become too much of a pansy league. The umpires today need to let the players play the game, and the league has to stop overreacting over small crap like this. Nothing happened, no punches were thrown.... let the players play! Wow, you're just way off. Over 10 seconds had passed before Abreu called time. I don't know if you realize this but that's an eternity and would freeze any hitter. Trying to put any blame on the umpire or Abreu for this is ignorant. Suspend an umpire for calling time in a completely justified situation? You must love Beckett or something. Release angle all messed up. LOL.
  10. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) I got an authentic BMac jersey on my birthday...the day he was traded. Awesome. We should go to a game together, probably the only 2 people that own one. Mine's a gray authentic. Also, 'jersey t-shirts' are not not anywhere close to a jersey. And they are only what a $20 purchase? You can go out of your way to buy ridiculous ones, and not be 'burned' by them. Jersey shirts are so lame. All I can ever picture is all the 20 something girls that have blue Soriano/Zambrano shirts and think they are the world's biggest Cubs fan.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) What do you expect an opposing coach to do in a hard fought game? It was a close call and he would have liked it to be reviewed. Every coach in sports must be a b**** then. It can't be reviewed, it's either interference live or not at all. I'm as unbiased as they come, and I think the right (no) call was made, as though Ladd drove hard, the contact was initiated by Leopold, who got beat to the net after turning it over. The more I look at this thing, especially from behind the net, the more it just looks like Kipper got beat. I don't really know how. Well, I do, he never really picked up the puck coming out of OJ's legs. But even so, I'm shocked that's what beat him. Huge f***in win.
  12. Matsuzaka to the DL But it was all for country pride, so it's OK!!!!!
  13. I already feel bad for Wise. It's like Mackowiak all over again. It's not his fault he was put in CF, even though he couldn't play it. He did his best out there and played pretty much as well as expected. If Wise performs essentially like he has in the past, at a minor league level of play, then you really can't get mad at him. What sense would that make? Too many people will yell stupid s*** at Wise, but that's wrong. Blame the GM (or manager for putting him leadoff), not the player.
  14. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) Sorry but I liked the old out-of-town scoreboard better. It was old-school and I liked that. Do you still wait for the newspaper to check the box scores to see who won the day before?
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 03:01 AM) And Campbell still sucks!!! Campbell's the best player ever!
  16. Our highest paid defenseman is our biggest defensive liability. That's really all there is to it. Unless a new GM finds a great way to fix this, his contract, for what you are getting, is going to be awful. Barker really stood out last night.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 07:27 PM) I don't get the hate for Murphy. He is the only one who doesn't bother to dedicate 90% of his show to football. Calla of the show!
  18. Steve I hear you and the saloon is better now for sure, but I still go B&B after the ESPN1000 morning and afternoon trifecta.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) I'd say the problem was with the managing, not the quality of play. He managed the thing like an all-star game because to his credit, he realized the whole thing was a stupid exhibition.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 09:02 AM) Thats pretty creative. Actually I am a blackhawks fan and I know they are better with Campbell on the team, therefore I dont blame every loss on him nor do I nitpick every little error he has because of a blind hatred. There are plenty of players I dont like on the team, however I know that the alternative for the most part is worse. As for your "evidence to the contrary." He ranks 9th in points for defensemen in the league. Thats what he does for us and thats the role he fills. I undertstand you think that defensemen should play defense and nothing else, but he is a point maker and this team thrives on scoring. And at what cost? LOL, way to make s*** up...but no, defensemen are indeed paid to play in the defensive end as well. You never will get that. f*** Bryan Berard was better defensively! Blind hatred? Try blind optimism. It's funny that you think I'm in the minority among knowledgeable Hawks fans.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Mar 21, 2009 -> 05:52 PM) No, I think it just gets old. We know how you feel about Campbell. We don't need a post about it every time he does something wrong in a game. I'm by no means a Campbell fan but that doesn't mean I feel the need to come here and post about how worthless he is after every bad game he has. Not taking a dig at you Krush. Just saying that when a team is struggling it's extremely aggravating to read people's rants like that. I understand that, but when people continue to defend him, I will continue to throw out evidence to the contrary, is all. That being said, he actually looked pretty decent today. If only that could the norm the rest of the way, especially with Barker out for the time being. Our bottom 3 is not exactly strong.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) Just put I hate Campbell in your sig, it would save you time of actually posting. Oh, am I hurting your feelings with your Brian Campbell man crush?
  23. My goal: Skate faster than any other defenseman in the league. FAIL. Even when you start off a stride and a half ahead on the GW goal.
