  1. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) Hawk mentioned "no hits" too That's his job.
  2. Now don't lose it - that's the tying run. Get back at this.
  3. Crazy play tonight in the Boston/KC game "One of the runs scored on a double by Bay that glanced off the glove of center fielder Mitch Maier, who leapt at the fence. The ball rolled several feet on the top of the wall before left fielder Ross Gload came over and knocked it backed into the field." http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=280805107
  4. To all the people that went to bed...well, Sox win, you lose.
  5. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Wow PK, kid of wish tat stayed in the park to keep rally going, but Ill TAKE IT Most retarded logic ever.
  6. In my mind the reason he's playing is because it's the first home game for him. Most retarded reason ever, but I believe it's playing a huge part.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 05:29 PM) Weird, I had had never heard of Mojo, but I just stumbled upon it today. I noticed Carlos Quentin's good looking mug on TV, so I stopped. It was an apparently older show following 6 D-Back's paths to the pros. One of the others was Chris Young. Anyways, apparently it's a series, 30 minutes each. I might have to check out the other episodes. I found it to be a very interesting series. If you have a DVR, just set to record all of em, as it's usually pretty random the order they play them in and when they repeat.
  8. Because bad calls are the ones magnified, simple as that. Umpiring's a job where you're expected to be perfect on the first day, and then get better after that.
  9. OK, that wasn't exactly infield in... Where's kyle when you need him? I'm not the only one who can't stand Hawk announcing a game. He's f***ing awful all over the board.
  10. "Carlos Gomez has a chance to be the best offensive player in this league" -Hawk Harrelson, 7/31/08. LOL
  11. He doesn't deserve to play college basketball after what he's done, and I'm glad it's official now. I also hope he gets his life back on track and doesn't get into more problems.
  12. As much as it hurts our team, if he violated something like drinking while on probation, then I'm glad he's gone. He should have never been able to come back to the team in the first place IMO, so if he's gone, so be it. Maybe others can learn from this.
  13. Go f*** yourself Hawk. You are a coward. Just the biggest whiner and excuse maker ever. He would make for one hell of a s***ty baseball coach, could you imagine? No one can every play or pitch over anything. Concentrate on something else and inform the viewers the reason we're down 5-0. Hint: Not one f***ing call.
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) How didn't I? Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan are teams that are on that channel from what I saw this past year. Pretty boring. Only decent thing was Kendall Gill. Then you didn't pay too close attention. Illinois/Penn St football was on there, Illinois/Indiana football was on there, as well as a ton of Illini basketball games, off the top of my head. Wasn't OSU/Wisky on there as well for football? My point is, fans are missing their teams games. How would you feel if you couldn't see a ton of Sox games, regardless of how good they were, or who they were playing?
  15. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) I guess Northwestern vs Penn State is a big time basketball game for some people after all. Way to not make any sense.
  16. You don't need a microwave to make popcorn http://www.koreus.com/video/telephone-port...is-popcorn.html
  17. Missing your team's football and basketball games makes it a good enough channel for me.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Back to something we can agree on, watching the Cubs bullpen blow games is awesome. Odds of garbage being on the field when the cubs lose? 1-1. WGN did a good job trying to hide the first garbage dump, but we all caught it.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) You can't honestly tell me that he's been doing a good job in games that we've watched him? I rarely ever get on an ump, cause I've umped before, and it's a thankless job. I don't really know the Ozzie ejection game too much to be honest, but ejecting someone or controversial calls that find you don't make you a bad ump. What's unfair is now he'll have a worse reputation because of a close play that anyone could have experienced along with coaches making asses out of themselves and him having to eject them. I mean even your reaction was 'rob drake is horrible.' And even though he got it right, because that's not even the biggest argument here, let's pretend like he missed it. Anyone could have at that point, regardless of minor league umpire or whatever. That thing was a true banger with a stupid assed slide to make it way tougher to call. And now general fans will just notice Drake was in on some controversy again, he must suck. It doesn't help that Brenly and Kaspar can't even admit he's out on a replay, which he is on every angle they have. Just makes the Cubs fans watching throw more garbage at their TV. That's what's unfair about it is all I'm saying. DeRosa caused the whole thing by being retarded to begin with. I don't mean to single you out Heads, I know you don't do it all the time. It's funny to come on here after any really close play that goes against the Sox, and read the bulls*** that follows, every time. And this is after seeing 20 replays in slow motion, and/or not knowing rules and being biased as hell (see: Cabrera interference in Cleveland). Like the games are fixed, and umpires should get every single call right every time. And then Hawk adds to it via TV, calling every pitch from his seat 100 feet away or on a TV monitor. BTW, I can't wait to hear what Piniella and Sinatro have to say for themselves post game. Wrong about the calls, and then both bump umpires.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) And that's why I went back and edited that post. The fact that he got it right still doesn't change the fact that he's a crappy ump. You can think what you want I guess, but I love fans who just get on umps.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) As an umpire, no one should ever know your name unless you're really good, or really bad. Who gives a s***. I know the names of plenty of umpires, it's not hard if you pay attention. Now you're just jumping on him for what has happened in the past. Umpires don't create situations like that, the plays cause it. It didn't matter who banged him out there, could have been Joe West, and an argument was gonna ensue. And, you were wrong about the call. He f***in nailed it.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Hell of a call and made the right decision by throwing out a first base coach for being a baby. Love how Len and Bob cannot admit that he was out. Well he was getting tossed immediately, umpires don't listen to base coaches or put up with their s***, ever.
