  1. f*** that execution by the offense. Completely beat ourselves, now we're looking at a fantastic 4-4 big ten record. What a f***ing joke of a performance. Juice throws for 450+, we have 550+, and f***ing lose.
  2. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 05:55 PM) I'm a happy old man today - the Red Wings raise their banner on Versus tonight, then the Hawks start their season tomorrow night and Saturday night! Throw the Wolves' opener in there and it adds up to: Ain't s*** gettin' done around the house this weekend! God DAMN, I love hockey!!! Is it possible for this wings/leafs game to end in a double loss? I hate both these assclown teams.
  3. Hate on Crosby all you want, but he's one hell of a hockey player, and gets targeted and cheap shot-ed by everyone. He's the man.
  4. Scissors is underrated. ************** Anyways, I see how a rock can break a pair of scissors. I can clearly see how scissors cuts paper. But paper "covers" rock? Are you f***ing kidding me? That's weak s*** right there. Who made that up? I could throw a rock through a piece of paper. Or, simply remove the rock from underneath the paper. And ta-da! The rock is back.
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) On top of it, Cam Barker has been sent down because of the cap situation. I am officially done with Tallon. He needs to go. This is f***ing stupid, I'm furious. I gave him every chance to solve this situation before the season actually started, and didn't b**** even though I was worried. But now...unbelievable. This season is already on a way to a let down, and we haven't even played a god damn game. f***ed up goalie situation, dman down who shouldn't be at all, and a top 6 that's lacking. Edit: And Colin Fraser made the squad. That's terrible as well.
  6. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) Wow, I really disagree with your opinion and many people on this board must also because I don't see many other calling this White Sox season a failure. The general consensus seems to be the opposite with 4 threads started tonight thanking the Sox and talking positively about this season. Do you also really believe that history has no relevence either? After watching the Sox win in 2005? Did you see how much it meant to the fans, players, coaches, owners, former players, and anybody else who is associated with or associates themselves with the White Sox? Grown men were in tears when they finally won it. Throw the Red Sox and Cubs in there too. Do you think history really meant nothing when Boston finally won it? Or each year when the Cubs fail to? Like Tony said, semantics. There are only 4 teams in the major sports that have a truly successful season, because they accomplished the goal of a championship. As Tony hinted, KW would say the white sox failed to reach their goal. Now, did they win only 50 games or fall flat on their face with a huge lead, etc? Of course not. Now, that would be a huge failure. The season was still fun, and shows promise for the future. Lots of good things went on this year. Successful on some levels. As far as your second paragraph is concerned...OK, now you're just making stuff up. When did i say the world series title didn't matter? I was comparing the failure of the Rays to this season. What happened doesn't, and shouldn't matter for this season. This season has nothing to do with them blowing in 1999 or any other year. You don't temper expectations based upon what happened years ago. By that same token, you shouldn't take an improvement one season as "hey, it was much better than last year." By that logic, if the Cubs won a playoff series, fans should be satisfied. When really, that's a complete loser attitude.
  7. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I am not trying to argue with you or change your mind, but when your highest finish ever is 4th place and you have only achieved that once and you make the playoffs for the first time in the history of your existence, and you win your first playoff series ever, to consider that season a failure if you don't win it all is pretty harsh, IMO. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) It's a very valid argument, and to be honest, it's pretty much all semantics. To me, every season a team should have a goal of winning the World Series. Obviously that objective isn't realistic for all 30 teams, but I would have a real hard time rooting for a franchise that doesn't have that goal year in and year out. Thats a big reason I give Williams my support. Agreed 100% Tony, you get it. By definition, any time you don't win the world series, the season was a failure. Failed to win the world series, the only goal any organization should have. Again, not realistic for every team every season, but that doesn't mean you should lower expectations and be happy with division championships or just making the playoffs. What does history have to do with this Rays season, or any season in general? Absolutely, positively nothing. Who cares that the Rays were a laughingstock for a long time? It's completely irrelevant. They won the tough AL East. They are a very good, legit team. Their goal and expectation should be to win the world series, and anything less than that is a disappointment.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) - I think the team and the fans fell in love with each other again over the last week or so. The tiebreak game from last Monday might be the best game in the history of the Cell. The rest of your post has some great points, but, uh, yeah...
  9. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) Personally I would rather see the Sox take the approach of spending wiser and not just relying on payroll. Crede, Cabrera, Uribe and Jose's insurance policy should open up some nice cash. How exactly does Jose's insurance policy work?
  10. WTF TBS? Are you f***ing retarded? Let's air 3 commercials during play, covering 2 separate occasions.

  12. Juice Williams sets the Big House offensive record, boom. Great performance today I L L

    i am drunk

    f*** Rowand44. That is all.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) I absolutely, positively support this statement. For my money, the Tuesday game was our World Series. That's such a Cubs esque statement to make. World Series or bust. Every season. Ugh.
  15. Best part about the Manny HR was that in case you didn't catch it, Z stared down Martin after the K to end the previous inning. Suck on it Z.
  16. Furcal's foot was outside the box on his bunt attempt. Just to prepare you for the huge excuse they'll all make tomorrow, and something I'd hope we wouldn't make, but it was indeed what happened.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 12:49 AM) Pryor is the second best player on that team? Really? I think once he has to pass against decent teams, his numbers will be pedestrian. I'm not saying he can't be great, but he isn't yet. If he's the 2nd best player that team has, then that's why Ohio State isn't that good this year. Also, for the USC/Kansas basketball comparison...USC has been a top 5 postseason team almost every year lately and they are either in the title game or winning their New Year's bowl game. Kansas has a national title and a runner-up finish in recent years, but they haven't been anywhere near as consistent as USC football. Agreed. A better comparison would be USC to the UNC bball program. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) There is a massive difference between talent and current ability. I'm not denying he has talent. Yeah, if Pryor is the 2nd best player on OSU, OSU isn't a very good football team.
  18. When you watch a college game and everyone's younger than you. When you start clicking profiles of young sports players and they have DOB's that are years after you. When you go back down to college and realize you aren't a student anymore. When your 'little' sister can buy alcohol. When you have a late hockey game, the refs are late, and you actually say the line "these guys need to hurry up, I have to work tomorrow"
  19. Let's be honest here, or lie if you would like, but this board would be up in arms had we had to travel to the horrorf***dome, and lost per usual, no doubt about it.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) I disagree almost completely. Only part I agree on is Griffey didn't put his whole body into the throw. because he didn't set himself up correctly....
  21. It wasn't nearly a near perfect play, either... Griffey did a really poor job of setting himself up to throw to begin with. He was somewhat flat footed. He didn't get behind the ball well, and caught it on the glove side of his body. He then didn't throw it with a ton of momentum. It worked because it was right on line to the plate. Got a bit lucky when it just carried the mound, and it hit the very front part which allowed it to skip in pretty quickly. Without that, he's probably safe as he kills AJ before AJ can grab it. The best party of the whole play was actually AJ receiving it without f'ing it up and then holding on after getting nailed.
  22. Anything in a 1280 x 768 or similar? I was actually gonna ask soon if someone could do a simple monthly thing for the Hawks schedule like we have for the Sox, as the September one has now expired Good work
  23. Rock, what do you use ondemand for most of the time? I don't really use ondemand at all, I mainly just access my recorded stuff on the DVR. Maybe I'm missing something.
