I'd rather play Houston. Do you really want to face a team that just won 3 games after having one foot in the grave? Do you want to face that kind of momentum, and a team who was there last year? I sure don't.

There are many months in which my marriage cannot take place, one of them is October.

I don't have to deal with dbag Twins fans on a daily basis. A twins WS wouldn't really bother me in the least. A cubs WS? Now that would be hell.

Who should throw out the first Pitch for game 1?

From Mark Tupper's blog: I still can't believe this s***. This was in the bag. I wasn't even concerned about it, really. What did Self do, sing and dance for another recruit? -
A great article. I sure hope he's still with us next year.

I didn't see the game tonight as i had hockey practice, but i noticed that we had 5 hooking calls. 5. Learn the f***ing rules, and stop using your stick to catch up to a guy in the neutral zone or what not. My God. This isn't hard, they've called it on you every time. STOP IT. You can't win games going on the PK 10 times. Unbelievable. -
Astros = lottery Cardinals = lottery Sox = piss everyone off
-
Win it for yourselves more than anything. You've played too hard to this point not to.
-
It's really not that great of an idea if you are talking about pleasing the fans, as they just pissed us off even more. The majority of people jumping on this deal are brokers.

Well, it was a hell of a run last year. Hopefully we can stay in the top 25 and challenge for the big ten title. Should be a fun year in the big ten. -
Man that thing is detailed...i placed mine in the exact spot i live at on the culd-a-sac. Only took me like 5 minutes to do LOL

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) It was a reaction pure and simple. He reacted, acted and then thought later. Basically, it was like a teenage guy seeing a hot naked woman for the first time. Instant wood and all thought leaves the premises. That's awesome.

Do i even bother trying? Seriously?

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Yah, and Bret Meyer is going to be a solid QB.... And Illinois will win a big ten game... -
Just checking, i thought it was a disagreement.

They asked Ausmus about the play. Just an interesting tidbit... He thinks Paul rolled to the ball to the mound because he knew for sure it was caught. If he thought it may have hit the ground at all, regardless of the call, he would have checked the ball for a scuff mark immediately. He'd want that ball out of the game with the angels coming to the plate. Never thought about this, just adds some more to the whole thing. Kinda cool to here another catcher's take on it.
-
If you ever want to use a catcher as a DH, it's pretty much a must to have 3 catchers.
-
I think AJ just started running on his own. His throught process was probably "f***.." and then "oh yeah that may have hit the ground, i should run in case Paul throws the ball down the right field line" Players do this quite often.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) You make a great point. However, I'm still going to maintain Sciocia's biggest mistake was belaboring the call with the officiating crew as long as he did. Escobar was really in a groove, his team was playing on their toes, and he took the wind right out of their sails with the lengthy objection. I'm not saying he shouldn't have argued the call--in fact, he would have been wrong NOT to--however, I really, truly think he may have hurt his ballclub more than helping them by staying out there for as long as he did. He would have been much better getting the guys together, giving his pitcher a pat on the rear-end and clapping his hands while walking back to the dugout. I mean, you really felt he knew his team was going to fail in that inning. It was a sign of things to come both figuretively and literally. Addy i agree with you to a point. As the argument went on and on, i was thinking to myself, "what will the impact of this be? Who does this favor?" I also thought Escobar could get somewhat cold. However, like SS2k said, he has to argue that call until he's blue in the face, in every possible way, to get it reversed. At that point, i think trying to reverse the call easily trumped keeping your pitcher warm, because this is one of those calls that could have easily gotten overturned, in theory. And i don't disagree with pinch running for Molina at that spot. Paul should have gotten the job done, plain and simple. He's a major league catcher, even if he's a backup, and he's on the playoff roster, so he's trusted. 12 year olds i ump know to just tag the guy for s***s in case i think he dropped the ball and call it as such, when in reality it's a catch.
