  1. Now if only Yakubov did something...
  2. Yeah, and they would have announced it already. The only question i see is the game time of game 2.
  3. Well we're talking game 2, not game 1. Also, TV rules all. I don't think anyone cares about sleep.
  4. I assume he had 1/4 left.
  5. That big white space behind left center field is essentially the church parking. You really can't miss it.
  6. Pfft. Yeah you're right, as always . I just assumed it went E, F, G, not E, F, L
  7. So with both the ALCS and NLCS playing Wednesday, what are the chances we get the night game? I'm assuming they are staggered, as on mlb.com it still has TBA on FOX for both games. I assume Yanks/Sox would be night, but would Angels/Sox push us to the late afternoon game?
  8. Yeah and if F and church parking is full, you can always do into G, which is the gravel parking lot. But i would try church parking before anything else.
  9. For anyone without a pass, i suggest using church parking, which is right off wentworth, between 35th and 37th. It was open 3 hours before the game on Tuesday, and if you are there at least 2 hours before the game, you'll probly get in. You can tailgate in there as well. It's also very easy to get out of there and on to 94.
  10. In the meantime, we'll just chill and wait for our opponent
  11. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) I guess my competitive was mistaken. Organized I guess would have been a better term to use. My point is punishing hits and such don't affect the game as much as Hawk fans believe. Big hits, meh, give me the stick check and a quick pass and I'm a happy camper. You dont need to knock people on their ass all the time. Yeah, drafting big defensemen works sometimes, but you dont always need size to clear out the front of the net. Positioning is a big part of it. Yeah, big hits aren't the huge key. Playing physical overall is key...more so being able to play physical when it is called upon, i.e. playing the body in a certain situation is better than playing the puck, etc. It's knowing HOW and when to play physical is the thing. It's something the Hawks might struggle with all year. Big hitting as imtimidation works up through the high school level, from my experience. Edit: For credibility sake, if necessary...i played travel hockey for 9 years, varsity hockey for 3, and now play (and coach) college roller hockey.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Tell me again why we must have Marte ready if a left hander steps up? BeCaUsE yOu HaVe To HaVe TwO lEfTiEs!!!!!!111!!1!!!!!!!!!11!!11111!!!11
  13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) Do I have to understand the reason to use this arguement? Let's put this whole f***ing thing into context then. We have NO f***ING CLUE what goes on in that clubhouse. We are all on the outside looking in. Sorry, fellas. I know some of you think you could be skipper, but, you're not. Do I know the reason? No. BUT, do I see time and time again he goes to Marte over Cotts? Yes. Ozzie knows a LOT more baseball than I. And, I'm just going to take a guess here, a LOT more baseball than you. He goes to him time and time again for a reason. He has ALL the information you are PRIVY to and MORE and he STILL goes to the worse statistical pticher of the two. Why? So you are now using some sort of clubhouse reason we can't see, as opposed to using a statistical basis. This keeps getting better.
  14. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) THE Luis Vizcaino? You got it. Because like Rowand has said, hopefully these pitchers would only enter as the last man out of the pen. In which case i have more confidence in Viz as a last hope. Marte needs to be left off because he's a lefty and Ozzie might do something stupid like use him in a tight situation, where he proceeds to throw 50 gas cans on a fire. See: 6th inning game 3.
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Can someone please venture a guess as to why Damaso is used time and time again over Cotts. Is it because Ozzie doesn't like Neal? Does he not like his hair? Does he have a thing against Illinois State. Ozzie does the things he does for A REASON. When you find that reason, please post it. You're defending Ozzie for a reason of which ou don't even know what it is? That makes sense.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Cotts is spent. You'd rather see........ Anyone but Marte in there.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) I'm not too familiar with the strengths of the Yankee and Angel lefties, but, we have a manager that coaches with his gut and I could very easily see Marte trot out in the eigth to get two tough lefties out or a lefty and a righty out. Sweet Jesus, i hope this never, ever happens.
  18. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) No, I think you guys are right. Again, Ozzie has nothing on armchair, Soxtalk managerial committee. Sometimes, he doesn't. Bottom line. I don't want Marte used in any sort of important situation. I don't care about your hopefulness that he rediscovers some sort of magic. He just proved in one game that he shouldn't be used in any pressure situations. Again.
  19. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Viz's #'s are better in the 2nd half, because he came in when the game was basically over. NO pressure. Hence much better #'s. That's a weak argument, at best.
  20. SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! You prefer Berman? Um. Ok.
  21. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Marte comes in in Big situations. Viz is always mopping up. And goes W, H, W. What's your point?
  22. Again - Having a lefty for the sake of having a lefty does nothing. Hopefully this doesn't need to be repeated 12 more times.
