Do you play for the team? #69 Smith means nothing to me. Congrats, you have a favorite number, and a last name.

CBS. Like Greasy said, Fox has way too much crap going on. It's a joke.

QUOTE(Art Vandelay @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Get a Sox jersey with your own last name or just a # you like. I'm not big on getting current players because once they leave, which most inevitably do, now you have an outdated jersey. Unless you don't mind that. Don't be that guy.

not even an inch.

This pulled from ESPN.com's Page 2 playoff theory tidbits. Just reiterates the fact that our strong bullpen will really be key. The whole series is very interesting if you have time to read it.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) The farther we go in the show, the more likely it is Paul will be with the Pale Hose for the long run. Due to increased revenue and ability to sign him? Or loyalty/rewarding him? It brings up an interesting subject. If the Sox win the ALCS and maybe then the WS, does Konerko get the money due to the role he played in this season and playoffs? Do the Sox reward him for his accomplishments? Who would be in favor of this? Or once this year is done, do you forget about it (from a managerial viewpoint) and try to assemble the best team, with the most logical payroll, for next year, forgetting about past accomplishments? Is it a mix of both? I think it's a very interesting subject.

LMAO, that's just hilarious.

Goodbye SD. You didn't even deserve to play those 3 games. Be happy you made some extra revenue and go away for the winter. Also, do the Cards even celebrate this series victory very hard?

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:40 AM) Garland HAS to start game 1, due to the fact that he got 0 work in the ALDS, so I'd love to see the following rotation: 1) Garland 2) Buehrle 3) Contreras 4) Garcia 5*) Garland 6*) Buehrle 7*) Contreras * if neccessary This sets things up perfectly, as Buehrle is a better home pitcher, Contreras will dominate anywhere the way he's been pitching, and Garcia is a road ace. This also gives our hottest pitcher the ball in the case that Game 7 is needed to decide the series. And if the series never gets to a game 7? You only throw your ACE one time in the series. That doesn't make any sense. I say play to win this thing as quickly as possible, and don't bank on game 7's. Plan for that and you will lose with bullets still in your gun.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Great win by Northwestern.... First time I've ever made a play with them too. +210 I had been making a killing playing Wiscy ATS earlier this season too. First time I bet against them. Iowa doesn't match up well with NW either. Thankfully that game is in IC, where they have a 21 game winning streak. This post almost came back to bite ya -

Bandwagon fans piss all of us off. During 2003 down here in Champaign, there were tons of Cubs bandwagoners. Now, there are people jumping on our bandwagon. I just don't want to deal with em. That's why i watch the games in my apartment with SnB (instead of hitting up a bar). I don't want to deal with all the ignorance of complete bandwagon jumpers.

If we can't win this game, no game will be worth watching the rest of the year. -
Drove around campus for a bit with SnB and blaring "go go white sox" and then headed to a bar with my broom where there were tons of Sox fans

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) El Duque has the mental disposition to be a closer. In fact i wouldn't be opposed to it. But not the WHIP

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Exactly. What a classless thread. Are you serious? Berman was all over the Red Sox's nuts this series, ESPECIALLY game 3.

How does this affect PK contract?
IlliniKrush replied to Whitewashed in '05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If the money is there, which at this point it easily could be, i don't care if he's making 12 mil. Plus, the FA market seems to be pretty dry this year at 1b. You have to keep him, you just have to. 40 hr 100 rbi guys don't grow on trees. I'd love to see your reaction if he did indeed hit 3 hr in game 7. -
Is Marte assured off the ALCS Roster?
IlliniKrush replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) -- Two lefties give a manager more flexibility, especially when they need to get out just one hitter. -- what happens if Neal Cotts gets hurt early in the series? Would you want to go through most of a 7-game series with NO lefties in the pen? But if he can't get lefties out, it doesn't make a difference if he's in the pen or not. Having a lefty for the sake of having a lefty doesn't do much. If Marte didn't earn his way of the roster today, i don't know what it takes. -
Jason, open up the page as big as your screen - the ordering stuff is on the right hand side of that page.

Seems like they are running out of certain sizes. They don't have anything below an XL for the home pinstripe.
