  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) Jim drove his car to work today. Bring em with
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Years from now it would be. I don't buy a jersey for just one season. No, i realize that...nor do I. Hell, i still wear my Sullivan (hawks) jersey. But most people would just think "mccarthy isn't 41"
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Bout time.. that Mark one just about walks on it's own. I'm gonna get a #1 Steff jersey
  4. Mike, i don't know if i'd classify a 41 Bmac jersey as retro if he changes his number for next year...
  5. One time on Boers and Bernstein on their "friday fung" section they had "best excuses not to come into work" Anyway, some guy called and said one time this woman used the excuse that her electricity went out, and it was too dark to put on clothes. Another good one - this guy said his car was surrounded by ducks, so there was obviously no way he could drive into work today. I don't recommend trying either of these, but they are hilarious.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) Going out to watch the game..? Anyway's? Champps? Leave at 1, you'll make it down here by gametime.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) Brandon McCarthy... that is what I am having done at the fest. All though a Jeff Bajenaru would be cool points for Soxtalk reasons. Yeah, i'm just worried of a number change, like Jason said. Jason...has he always been #41? Like in the minors? I'm not up to date on my minor league jersey numbers Also, do you think players care about keeping the same number for many years, knowing it will mess up fans' jerseys? When i bought my Buehrle in 2001, i was really scared that #56 was a bogus number and he'd be changing it soon.
  8. I think i'm gonna jump on one of these after i figure out who to put on the back of it.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:19 AM) New coach, lots of new players, they weren't going to click from game one. It's players like Tyler Arnason and Mark Bell that will determine whether the Hawks will make the playoffs though. Can they become 60+ point scorers? Arnason yes, Bell if he stays on the 3rd line, i'd say no
  10. That one looks real sweet. It's about time they got something that could show pts and fouls on it.
  11. Thing is, Garland's been at Fenway how many times in his career fielding some BP? And he's never noticed/looked into that hole?

  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) Clement's exit sounded f***ing awesome on the radio. It was ridiculously loud. Nancy stopped playing during the "hey hey hey, goodbye" part, just to let the crowd do its thing. I loved it.
  14. I'd be there if i wasn't at the Sox game. Have fun tonight, should be a blast.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) I can't wait to get back to the park, I don't want to sleep. I hear you there man. Did you go all the way back to SIU after the game? I'm back in Champaign, driving back up tomorrow.
  16. If we win tomorrow, there will be full-blown panic in Boston. That would be some interesting reading.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) Good stuff Steve and looks like you guys had some solid seats (nice pictures from the game too). You guys are going back tomorrow right? Hopefully you bring the same kind of luck back to the park tomorrow Steve has a test at 7 that they wouldn't let him take the conflict for. Lame as hell. I'm heading back up tomorrow between 1-2pm. Yeah, our seats were real solid today, great view of the whole place. Also, i temporarily lost my sunglasses during the mosh pit after A.J's homer. What an electric atmosphere.
  18. I wanted Anderson to be the backup, so this works for me. I'm also glad Leighton gets a shot somewhere else. He deserves it.
  19. Champion Chicago White Sox are making the following recommendations to fans planning to attend this week's Division Series games against the Boston Red Sox: • Game 1 will be played at 3:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 4; Game 2 begins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5. Game 5, if necessary, is scheduled for Sunday, October 9. • Fans should arrive at the ballpark early to avoid traffic. Gates to the ballpark will open two hours prior to each game. • The White Sox strongly recommend that fans utilize public transportation. The CTA Red Line stops near the ballpark at 35th Street and the Green Line is two blocks farther east. • Fans driving to the ballpark with a reserved parking coupon should follow the directions on the back of the coupon to reach their assigned parking area. Parking coupons should be displayed prominently as fans approach the ballpark. • Cash parking will be very limited, and fans intending to drive and pay for cash parking should follow directional signs to available lots. • Free shuttle service also will be available both days from Michael Reese Hospital (31st and Cottage Grove) and McCormick Place (31st and Moe Drive). • Tailgating is permitted all three days, and parking lots will open three hours before game time. Tailgating during and after games is prohibited. • On Tuesday and Wednesday, fans can park in Lot A beginning at 6:00 a.m., take the El to work, and return to the ballpark for the game. Lot A is accessible from Wentworth Avenue between 33rd and 35th streets. • The Division Series contests are sold out. If fans are not holding tickets for a game, they should not come to the ballpark. No standing-room tickets will be sold. • Fans holding tickets for the upper level will not be able to access other levels of the ballpark. This policy ensures that fans safely and comfortably enjoy the game with access to the areas of the ballpark where they bought tickets. • Finally, the White Sox ask fans attending games to be respectful of the neighborhood and homes surrounding the ballpark before and after games.
