QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) All I can really say before this series is this. I am very happy to be able to not only be at the Cell Tuesday and Wednesday, but also have confidence, real confidence that we can beat the Red Sox, or for that matter anyone in the playoffs. This isnt a team that just had enough to get into the playoffs. We all got a kick out of what Hawk said about this team, and we was dead on. You win 99 games cause your good, DAMN good. Win or lose, I will at least know that I had confidence in my boys. Thank you White Sox, and thank you Kenny. Lets kick some Red Sox ass. You're welcome

So if it ends up Boston-Sox and Yankees-Angels, who gets the night games? Does the NY factor trump all?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Cool. I guess I'll just have ot study extra early or something. So if they play Anaheim the weekend games will be in Anaheim (the Friday and Saturday ones). Than they travel back to Chicago for a game on Monday (or so I'd guess). I'd be definately down for a Friday and Saturday Sox games in Anaheim. That would be most perfect. Final home game would be Sunday. Play 5/6 days, only offday is Thu.

How are you planning to watch the potential clinch
IlliniKrush replied to Funkman7's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Going to by 12:00 class to take a quiz, then walking out after the quiz to come home and watch the game. -
And i think those that think ozzie is a good game manager don't understand the game of basebal very well. And if you want to talk forest-trees: Lou Piniella.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Sour Grapes, thy name is Illini. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ci...adel&type=story Good gains from a 5th string RB? -- He averaged 2.4 yards per carry on the season, and finished with something like 250 yards on the season. New quarterback? -- Brad Banks was the #1 JuCo QB recruit in 2000. He sat on the bench in '01 learned the system (Protect the ball, make mistakes with your feet not your arm) and in 2002 was ready to become the big 10's best QB. Ken O'Keefe opened up the playbook to include option and lots of designed QB runs. He tailored the offense to his talent. -- Nathan Chandler was the #1 JuCo QB recruit in 2001. He lead the nation in passing. He sat on the bench in '02 learned the system (Protect the ball, make mistakes with your feet not your arm) and in 2003 was ready to be a servicable Big 10 QB. Thanks to a great offensive line he was rarely pressured and had one of the nations top running games. Ken O'Keefe trimmed the playbook to mostly a running, play action passing, and short pass game. He never gave too much for Chandler to handle. He tailored the offense to his talent. -- Drew Tate was a top 15 QB prospect in 2002. He set the national records for passing in HS. He sat on the bench in 2003, learned the system (Protect the ball, make mistakes with your feet, not your arm) and was Iowa's best option at QB for 2004. He struggled early as RB after RB was sidelined for the season, but as the season progressed the Iowa offensive coordinator Ken O'Keefe learned what the kid could do, and built an offense that played to his stregths. He tailored the offense to his talent. -- This all sounds like 1) good recruiting and 2) great coaching. -- I know the latter has severely lacking in Champaign since well forever. Miraculous last second victory in the Cap One Bowl. -- Iowa trailed for 45 seconds..... THE ENTIRE GAME! Meh, s***ty article, not going to argue it...just give us our ass whooping and we'll be on our way to IU. Iowa certainly isn't as dominant as they have been the past few years, but it should be more than enough to pound us around for 4 quarters. -
Need more optimism??? Why the Moccasins are done.

Losing the ball in the sun is not an error. It happens. That's a terrible example. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) I don't quite understand what the sarcasm has to do with his disparaging comments.. Or maybe I've just missed the normal bulls*** around here lately where some posters do nothing but b**** and moan about how they KNOW what Ozzie should be doing.. And we're usually right. Ozzie is a brutal game manager. Period.

Who had 2 teams in the final four last year, and another in the elite 8. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) We obviously don't need Ozzie since the job is so easy that any message board poster can do it... Timeout. His game managing sucks. How many times have people FIRST guessed him and been right? Too many times for me to count. He's a cheerleader. We can go get another one of those. He wants out? Don't let us stop you.
