Frank Robinson had a stare down with an ump for 44.5 seconds. Showed the whole thing on SC. Pretty hilarious.

I pretty much got handed a used 1994 ford explorer when i turned 17. When i was 16 i would drive my dad's car here and there occasionally, mainly to saturday DH's for baseball and such. I paid for all the gas, and some of the insurance, and still do obviously. Even though i got one right away, i don't think a kid should be handed a car on their birthday. He/she should have to pay for some of it (varies by family) and should be a well-behaved kid with good grades. Of course, i grew up in a high school where kids were handed 30,000 dollar cars when they turned 16, so i may be biased.* *And if they crashed it, they got a new one.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I got $260 and change this month from work for my mileage allowance for what I've drove the past 3 weeks. Gas is fluctuating so much here in CU, it is insane. Yeah...i don't understand it...and have no clue when to fill up

Bowling Green has a good chance to win that game. Also, Illinois is something like -1.5 vs Rutgers, but i think we're gonna lose due to inexperience. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) But to say all his fans are of that genre is bulls*** too. I'm a Dave fan, but nobody would type cast me as a frat guy. Nor would I want to be. I brought it up earlier in the thread. I know people have gotten looks sometimes for saying they're a White Sox fan. People assume that all White Sox fans are ghetto/white trash, mullet-wearing, base-coach beating, etc. I don't see how that's any different, than saying all DMB fans must be tokers and/or frat guys. Assumptions aren't always right or fair. The one about Dave is damn close. I actually went to a Dave concert at U of I because a friend from out of town came down for it. Not only did i not enjoy it, but the stereotypes presented fit that concert perfectly. You're an exception to the rule as far as i'm concerned Greasy.

QUOTE(AirScott @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) like I've said, we didn't have Podsednik in those games. he comes back, goes 0-5 and we lose, then goes 3-5 and we win, and currently is not playing and we're losing. it's more of an unfortunate time to play those playoff-caliber teams. You think the difference in everyone's AVG in August is due to Podsednik being on the DL? Oh boy...

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) That 7 game losing streak was something we all knew was going to happen. It happens to just about every team during the course of a season. That was our 'bump in the road'. Since it ended we are playing .600 ball. The slump is over. We aren't choking. When all 7 come against good, or playoff-caliber teams, i call that more than a random slump we knew would happen.

Every time i hear "what time is it?", i think "game time"

Buehrle thinks Rangers might be cheating

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) Tell me that they couldnt change the signs per inning, maybe change the indicator or the sequence. I dont mind that Buerhle spoke his mind, but AJ and our coaching staff should be able to adapt to sign stealing. And who are we to talk about stealing signs. We for many a year employed one of the best sign stealers in baseball as a bench coach. Lets get real. Stealing signs that is done by a player or coach is way, way, way, way, way different than guys working the scoreboard with binoculars stealing signs. One is part of the game, to some degree. The other is just flat-out cheating. It requires no skill, it's just there for the taking. -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) Don't know exactly how they did the numbering and such, but this is the complete list. I know it is...just referencing the weird numbering scheme.

Hm, doesn't seem like a "complete" list...lol

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) I'll take the atmosphere of Konerko taking Grienke deep over the atmosphere of Santana no-hitting us any day. Any day. Don't know that going in. The Friday boston game, or the comeback dodgers game, off the top of my head, were far more exciting than any KC game this year.

LOL, what a train wreck that was

Anyone ever visited all 30 MLB parks?
IlliniKrush replied to WilliamTell's topic in The Diamond Club
I wouldn't try to do it all in one summer, but it could be done. Hell, one time it was done in exactly 30 days. However, i think you'd get burnt out/homesick/whatever being on the road for as long as it took to get all 30 parks done. You could also plan travel better by not doing it in one summer. I think the best way to do it would be over 4 trips, doing "loops" of the NE, SE, SW, an NW. Something like that. I just think all 30 in one summer would be kind of nuts. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Except when the Sox make the playoffs and 450 people join the site in 3 days. Touche
