I've always thought this...decrease in fighting equals an increase in stickwork. You don't want this.

OK, i don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but all pictures on ESPN are showing up as red X's right now. This isn't the case for everything else on the internet, so i don't really know what's up. Is this ESPN, or my computer? If it's my computer, what did i do/what do i do to fix it? I'm not good with this stuff.

Well, i must be living under a rock when it comes to this (which is good i guess) because i didn't know there was already one season of the ashlee simpson show

I've always hated shootouts because it's not a huge part of the game. But i'm changing my stance because the NHL is close to dead. Use shootouts in regular season, but playoffs keep sudden death. The NHL is dying for viewers and fans, and a shootout would be a huge way to get more. It's not the best option, but the NHL doesn't have much of a choice right now

I just saw an ad on MTV for the Ashlee Simpson show, premiering Jan 26th on MTV She just won't go away...

Wilkinson is a very underrated player IMO Illinois vs Penn St tonight, 8pm. Beat them by 43 last year at home. Line is at 28.5, wow -
What time is check-in on friday? Also, what are some of you guys bring with to have autographed?

Illinois shares the basketball better than any team in the nation, which is the #1 reason they are undefeated right now. I've never seen unselfishness reach this level. It is a joy to watch. -

I expected nothing less in that Purdue game yesterday. I expected a battle from Keady's squad, even if they aren't that talented. We have trouble playing in that arena (any place in the big ten is tough), and Keady knows Weber and our tendencies very well. Purdue came out with a ton of fire, which was expected. The line was Illinois -15, which was way too much. No way can you expect to blow out Purdue on their home floor. It was good to get into a tough game, comeback, and get the win. This team needs to learn how to do that. As far as going undefeated...i hope we don't, to be honest. That's way too much pressure, and i want them to be able to regroup after a loss. As far as predicting they won't win the national championship...well, smart bet considering there are 63 other teams in the tournament. But regardless of that, that is not much of a prediction, and there is almost nothing you can use to support that - unless you want to base your prediction solely on a 9 pt victory on the road. Honestly, the only team i fear a bit is UNC, because they have so much talent and more offensive depth/balance. I think we are even or better than Kansas, Duke, etc, but UNC i would not want to face until the final game, and hope they get knocked out earlier. I'm not saying we wouldn't beat them (or guarantee that we'd beat everyone else), but that is the most dangerous team right now. -
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Jermaine Oneal and 3's, and hes a center/power forward, i would expect no 3's I realize that...but i also realize that 55 points is an assload, and the quickest way to get points is via the three pointer. Zero three pointers while still scoring 55 is really surprising to me, maybe not to others.

'Bone weary' Ohio State AD Geiger Retiring

Call it retiring if you wish... -
I hated the guy as the coach of our team because he couldn't recruit and didn't know a thing about defense. If his defensive coordinator didn't get the job done, the defense sucked. But if there is one thing RT can do, it's run a pro style offense. He can develop a QB...ok not this year, but Kittner...and he has had some fine receivers under him. He is a terrible college coach, but a pretty damn good offensive coordinator, in my opinion. Don't connect Illinois' woes with the possibility of Turner being an offensive coordinator, because that's just ignorant.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) Damn it, Iowa sure took a dump in the 1st half. had a strong second half though. I figured they were due for a loss cause i think Michigan is a rather solid club. Now its time to see how Iowa responds. They've been playing some cupcakes for a while and now is where they are going to have to step it up. But they can't afford losses like tonight at home. Well, they have a ton of injury problems....and Iowa was favored by double digits. -

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) Yeah, Doering and Richardson -- Supposedly they also have a silent comittment from Tony Moleaki too. Henderson is supposedly gonna "shock the world" with his announcement -- I'm not counting on him, and even if it was Iowa, he doesn't strike me as the type of player that would fit well in IC. Basically Iowa is connected to every big recruit out of the Chicago area except Mendenhall, who's going to ILL. I can only hope this trend changes with Zook... -

Illinois wins, Augustine has his coming out party, Dials does nothing. Close intense game in the first half and partway through the second, we made some adjustments on defense and controlled the game the rest of the way. -

Illinois opens up big ten play tonight at home vs Ohio St., 8pm. How's the weather up in chicago. It has been like 34-36 degrees this whole time, so everything has been rain, which is nice. Glad i came down yesterday, or i'd never make it here today. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Now its onto the best part, recruiting USC will continue to dominate there also. How the hell is recruiting the best part? You'd rather "watch" recruiting than actual football games? I don't understand this logic at all. -
The most surprising thing about that is that he made no threes. Didn't even attempt one, still had 55. That's unreal.
