  1. The park was about half empty at first pitch last night
  2. Rowand was just on the Score. Didn't have a huge problem with it, but said that payback will be had somewhere down the line
  3. lead·er n. One that leads or guides. One who is in charge or in command of others. One who heads a political party or organization. One who has influence or power, especially of a political nature. Music. A conductor, especially of orchestra, band, or choral group. The principal performer in an orchestral section or a group. ******************************* I'd like this source to tell me what part of that definition matches Mike Jackson
  4. Not even close, you don't listen to enough radio
  5. To be perfectly unbiased, i'd kind of be so-so on it. I like the good hard baseball play that the play was, i just feel it was unnecessary and was a possible injury risk. I never like guys trying to injure other guys in any capacity, really. I'd kind of bite my tongue if one of our guys pulled that off
  6. I was at that game...what a show that was
  7. Like Ozzie said, it would be a call from the dugout. I would hope it would be a call from the dugout in almost all situations - not the player taking it upon himself to drill a guy. So i think this whole thing is irrelevant. Ozzie appears to have never called for a beaning of Hunter, so Jackson never did. I can almost guarantee you that if Jackson was ordered to drill Hunter, he would have. Or he'd be out of a job instantly
  8. The argument supporting frank because "the offense did fine without maggs" is bogus. Not only did our record suffer, but more importantly there hasn't been a long stretch where a healthy maggs has been in the lineup and Frank hasn't. It's like a comparison is being made without all the proper data. IMO, a lineup with a healthy maggs minus frank could get along similarly to the lineup that had frank in it minus maggs.
  9. Yeah, it was some northwest indiana paper i think? That's pretty interesting stuff right there. Hopefully the article can be found. Edit: I believe it said something like he 'wouldn't' throw at hunter, not he didn't or refused. I guess he made a friendship with him in 2002.
  10. I know it wasn't bad, but i know you hate the rain
  11. Of course...i don't leave games early You went downstairs to be in the rain??
  12. Just expect a decent amount of douchebag fans to start the wave if we are losing 4-1
  13. Well, there is absolutely no reason all 3 of these shouldn't sellouts if you look at the standings. If you are going to sell out a series, this is the one
  14. LOL, cw Two of my friends got tickets to game 2 of the NLCS last year using 30, count em 30 computers in one of the computer labs. Hopefully you can make the trip down, and hopefully we can give you a game - but i'm not counting on it.
  15. Yeah, we've come a long ways...but we still haven't figured out how to get paid to play basketball
  16. Oh man, don't mention books for college right now. I'd rather just blow my money on the Sox all summer and worry about that stuff later
  17. Between this one and the "my letter" thread, we have some entertaining ones going today
  18. I don't think many are giving up - i just think people are frustrated. We've all seen Jon be dominant before; we've all seen Crede hit the hell out of the ball before. We are just dying for the consistency.
  19. Well baseball is more than just a bunch of 8.5 X 11 rosters with stats on them, sometimes people forget that. I just tried to use my own experience in gauging it. Everyone reacts differently to different treatments. I have no idea what Cotts is in need of, and don't favor either scenario over the other.
  20. Tough call. For some guys, being put back out there is a confidence boost when they are struggling, while being sent down could be depressing.
