  1. Whoever still defends this guy, please read the post above He's an asshole with a capital A. He thinks he's the best player ever and i got news for him he's not. He thinks he's bigger than the game. Worst thing you could think as a baseball player
  2. Wagner was already out of the game, and Blalock was like the 5th or 6th batter in the inning. BTW Rex I was joking. I know he pitc hed at the Piss Whole on Friday or Saturday I was just going on the comment Baker made when Willis wasn't picked. Ya i haven't watched the game yet, i just heard somewhere they pulled wagner and put in Gagne Willis would have been a fine choice there then i guess, but you can't second guess Gagne vs anybody
  3. IMO he was the best hitter on that Twins team(not saying much I know). But he could hit from both sides of the plate with power and was a clutch performer. i think Koskie is their best hitter, but he might be headed to the DL now
  4. Yup, Stewart was the 5 wasn't he?
  5. Well then that's one huge nut he found, no pun intended

I've been pretty satisfied with him this year. A few hiccups, but pretty solid overall, and he's logged what like 5 complete games? It's certainly not a "bust", and i think if this team was playin better it'd lift his level of performance as well. If the ERA was a bit lower, maybe like 3.75, i'd say that he'd be performing exactly how i expected him to. Regardless, Rocky Biddle sucked here and only showed few signs of promise and Liefer and Osuna, well, they aren't doing much now are they. That deal was totally totally worth the "risk". And even if Colon isn't here another year or two or whatever....were Biddle, Liefer, and Osuna gonna be part of this Sox team for years to come? I'm not so sure about that.

  8. Odd. They trade to improve somewhat of a strength instead of their weakness, starting pitching. They have plenty of RF/DH/1B guys Score just verified the trade also

That's what i meant when i said this, i guess it wasn't clear, not a huge deal I just meant that people always seem really mad about biddle being gone because of Koch sucking it up, and that's not a fair assessment because they forget that we got Colon for him and Liefer and Osuna

I won't say that I bad-mouthed the Colon for Biddle trade because I certainly did not. However, I did have my doubts about Foulke for Koch and he hasn't let me down :dips*** I'd like to know where i mentioned you specifically as tooting the biddle horn :dips*** I'm still trying to figure out where anyone tooted anything about him in this thread.. Ya, in general. I didn't in particular say this thread. It's just something that always comes up. Geezus
  11. Their organization prospect ranking is always ahead of the Sox I'm beginning to think 5 tool talent means the guy does have all 5 of those tools - no glaring weakness in any of them. The problem is, that player isn't special in any of those areas. He's just above average or solid. I think 5 tool prospect can't be equated to star because it's thrown around too much

Wins for a starting pitcher don't mean all that much because most of it isn't even controlled by the pitcher anyway. Colon has pitched pretty well this year and has been the unfortunate recipient of some bad offensive performances and bullpen performances. The foulke trade, well, that trade sucks

  14. in the summer of 2001 and 2002 i worked overnight at Jewel in Grocery...basically stocking the shelves...pretty hard fast labor actually, but you can make it fun I would work 10-6 and my schedule was all messed up. Good luck with that schedule over the summer, it drove me nuts and took weeks to get it straightened out for school.

  16. Jul 16 Various news outlets are reporting that the Yankees and Mets are extremely close to a deal involving closer Armando Benitez. The New York Daily News says that the Mets will receive minor league pitching prospects Jason Anderson, Anderson Garcia, and Ryan Bicondoa. The Daily News also claims that commissioner Bud Selig told the two sides on Tuesday to delay any announcements in order to not detract attention from the All-Star Game. Instead, according to the Daily News, the trade will become official on Wednesday. "It's not done, but it's very serious and very close," a source told ESPN.com. "It's not done, but it might get done [Wednesday], it might get done Friday; you don't always know how things like this go."
  17. Well then what do you say to the fact that starters are coming into the game in the middle innings?

I guess so It's come up plenty of times
  19. I thought she did a fine job, but really i don't care too much about who sings the anthem If you want a laugh, turn on Boers and Bernsy at 1:58ish and listen to their closing....they play this clip from a Hawks game where he totally makes up jibberish words towards the end of the anthem, it's really pretty ridiculous.
  20. The player is the same to me whether he's playing my team or playing in an all star game. I can't change my feelings on a guy and pull a 180 just because it's an all star game Would it not be ok to boo Sammy Sosa if he was at the all star game this year?
  21. I guess this could happen in the next day or so for a few prospects. Could Rivera be one of them? I wonder what they will get. I would assume Weather takes over closing duties

There's always something like "geez, biddle has X amount of saves for the spos, wish we had him, nice job kenny" around here So easily people forget that was the Colon deal. Don't take out frustration of a bad Koch deal on the Biddle/Colon trade Two separate issues

I'm sick of people tooting the rocky biddle horn around here He wasn't that good when he was here, how many times did they got get rocked? Furthermore, and more importantly, not one person said "oh no, we gave up rocky biddle to get BARTOLO COLON". When we gave up Foulke for Koch, people had doubts right away, and that's fine. But remember we got Colon for Biddle. I'll take it.
  25. Wouldn't you just have Wagner pitch to him? And if Dusty used Baker, you'd have Jenkins at short, or something ridiculous like that. He couldn't use him.
