  1. I was wondering what the hell was thrown...i tracked it all the way to the first level where it hit somebody. The body slam in the top of the 9th was WWE worthy There was quite a bit of beer thrown also
  2. Depending on the pricetag for Castillo (we'd have to sign him to an extension to make it worth the acquisition), i'd be a fan of acquiring him.
  3. Wouldn't give up Cotts for such an older vet that's underachieving, though i'd like to acquire him for less...DJ makes me sick
  4. Good point was brought up on the Score this morning. Paul is a true team player, you can't deny that. That being said, they were talking about Paulie possibly going to the minors. Now before you flip out...think about it. The only way Paul is going to get out of this is if he plays everday...coming off the bench is just making this problem worse. Of course, Paulie would have to agree to this, and it's not normal for something like this to happen...but i definitely think it should be considered. And maybe Paul, being the team player he is, might do it. He will never figure it out sitting on the bench.
  5. One appearance since June 2nd...we are dealing with a 24 man roster here
  6. I was also in 531 so i had a pretty good view of the tumbling going on...pretty entertaining stuff...almost matched hawks/blues fights in intensity from playoffs 2002
  7. I don't think comparing him to Alomar is the way to go about supporting a Matsui acquisition. Don't think he's worth that money and i don't think it's our biggest need right now either, or for the future, with the make up of this team. Matsui is a good player, sure, but labeling him a money player is a big premature after 3 months in the league. How can you not put up numbers in that Yankee lineup? Just as you say that Matsui will "figure things out"...well, pitchers around the league will also start to "figure him out"...just as they have done with Ichiro for periods of time until he adjusts yet again...it works both ways.
  8. With that starting pitching, i don't think the Twins will win 90, but we'll see. I like what i've seen from (gulp) White lately. He's been pretty solid...maybe he's starting to turn it around. I didn't know Glover was a member of the White Sox...anyway, if we aren't going to use him...get somebody up here who can eat up some innings...or flash, marte, and koch are going to be dead by the end of the year.
  9. He's a hypocrit...he'd be doing the same thing if it was the other way around...i've seen plenty of cubs games this year where he was on the field waving to the wrigley crowd and the whole bit...go shove it dusty.
  10. If you would have told me 4 of 6 before this all started, i would have said i'll take it. I was pretty fearful of the Cubs series coming into it this year more than any. So winning both series is fine by me. Would i have liked a sweep? Ya. But it's damn hard to sweep a pretty good team. As far as the hot hitters go, i think you could put either jose or aaron somewhere at the top, 1 or 2, esp if harris keeps struggling. However moving all 3 up would cause maggs to hit 5th...don't know how big a fan i am of that...and daubach, who's hot...6th? I'd give it some time before JM should tinker any more.
  11. Remember when Cal Eldred won 15 games? If it's a fantastic fluke, career year, i'll take it. I don't really care. Will he come back to Earth? Probly a bit. Will he tank the 2nd half? Certainly don't expect him too. This year certainly isn't in line with the rest of his career, which is perfectly fine with Sox fans.
  12. Weaver looked pretty nasty tonight...Burnitz got a hold of him in the first but after that it was pretty much lights out...i still like this kid's potential, wouldn't mind seeing him here if Steinbrenner wants to get rid of him anytime soon
  13. The lefthanded bat is fine...and it's not liek Crede is tearing s*** up anyways. A throwing error could have happened at 2nd base, and no one would get on Manuel for that now would they. Besides, he made a few nice plays at 3rd, proving he isn't completely lost at the position...he's just prone to some really stupid ass defensive plays.
  14. Matsui isn't worth that hefty price tag he's pulling around. And how can you say he's a "money player" after only 3 months? I'd really like to know...
  15. He didn't have his best stuff today. It happens, and it's over...and that's the way i'm gonna look at it...better start next time
  16. I'm through putting up with his lazy attitude, s***ty defense, and s***ty baserunning. It's just ridiculous at this point...bring Miles up soon
  17. Yes, you definitely need to bring energy and enthusiasm to the game...not "you can put that on the board... (chirp chirp)" as it's a game changing home run
  18. Ya, should be the Prior thread...my bad...but you can talk about Jesus anywhere, right?
  19. Zero enthusiasm, and rarely describes what is going on on the field. There could be a huge play for the other team, and there's no enthusiasm. You have to have enthusiasm both ways. And when the sox are trailing it's a lost cause...you don't even konw what's going on.
  20. If you would have told me 2/3 going into the series, i would have said i'll take it. Oh well, it happens. Big difference maybe, but 3 months is time enough to tell who whould be the champ
