  1. Why does a 17 page thread appear when I am on vacation...now I have to read 17 pages to catch up with all of this.
  2. Happy Birthday to one of the greatest posters on this site Usually I end birthday wishes with a however I feel CW deserves this: and for good measure. So again, Happy Birthday from one Wolverines fan to another
  3. And that is a stupid comment by greg775, because everyone should know that a player will only give out statements about his contract to lobby fan support and try to coerce more money from management. Not that I blame maggs for doing this, but that is why it is done. And I think it is wrong to ignore the maggs contract situation, afterall it is part of the future. Go Maggs
  4. I was at the game today. The Shingo entry is definately awsome.

    Adios for a while

On the subject of being gone, I am on a road trip right now in Mizzou, Chicago, and Michigan. So I will be posting sporadically.

    College Visits

Its not sports recruiting, merely academic. I don't get lobster and a private jet like football recruits, just a special visit with some other kids and usually a continental breakfast or lunch buffet
  7. Even though I think Brad Smith will win the heisman, and I want Edwards to win it, it would be neat to see Timmy Chang from Hawaii win it. The guy is a yardage machine.
  8. I will never forget my first game at New Comiskey Park And btw, no Sox player has ever worn the Uniform as well as Lance Johnson. When I think back to the Sox new uni's I was a little kid, and I loved the black uniforms. I wanted to be Lance Johnson because he looked so cool in the uniform. Something people forget is that back then there weren't last names on the Sox pinstripe jersey.
  9. Person A-"You look thinner" Person B-"Thats because I lost 5lbs" A-"Diet, and exercise" B-"No it was natural" A-"Water weight?" B-"No, s*** weight"
  10. Callahan...and it will indeed be interesting.
  11. Only one way to find out...
  12. I am pretty certain that he was a senior. He was one tough hombre though, if I were a back or a safety I wouldn't want to see him barreling down on me.
  13. After fasting for a few days I imagine you get pretty hungry.
  14. I never knew that the unions opposed Hitler. I figured that the unions and labor orginizations would be in favor of Hitler because of the original Nazi party ideals. It is funny how the brown shirts were an initial spring board for Hitler, doing his dirty work and such. But once Hitler gained power, even the brown shirts were replaced by the 'more aryan' Gestapo and SS. The propoganda machine that the Nazi's produced is amazing. The pictures, film, and pure orginization that it shows is disgustingly good. The dedication they showed makes you wonder what kind of place Germany could have been had Hitler not wanted to exterminate the Jews and conquer Europe. I am also curious about the Catholic Church's relationship with the Nazi's. Many churches helped Jews, and most catholic church's survived Hitler's wrath, which implies some sort of agreement possibly with the pope. However I have never heard of any official deals. When I brought this topic up to my teacher, she didn't have any answers. I have always had an interest in History. I grew up in an environment with a lot of history books and stuff because my dad loves history as well. In school it always fascinated me to the point where I would focus on certain subject for years. I probably dedicated a good 6 years of my life to the Titanic, and another 6 to the exploration of space. Lately I have been big on studying the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and the early Cold War era. Most of my knowledge of Nazi Germany comes from a holocaust studies class I took. I enjoyed it because it went past the surface of the holocaust and examined the social dynamics of Germany at the time. Thanks is not necessary, it is always great to talk about history with a fellow Sox fan I just hope this conversation hasn't bored the rest of the Soxtalk community
  15. Thats what I call a bowel movement! Maybe I need this, my gas has been smelling worse lately...

    Wite turns 17

    Happy b-day witesoxfan
  18. When looking at their schedule I projected Michigan, Tenn, and USC as losses. I figured Purdue and BC are games that could go either way. So I just gave them a split in the swing games. Though MSU will not be a pushover either.
  19. I see your point, but remember that Missouri beat Nebraska by 17 last year. Basically, I think Mizzou will just outscore most of their opponents and should win 9-10 games. I don't like Nebraska at this point, they will be competitive, but they have a first year starting qb entering into an entirely different offensive philosophy. I can't see them mastering the west coast offense in one summer of practices. K-State has Darren Sproles, but they lost 7 starters on Defense, and they lost Roberson. They are still a good team, but they will have too many growing pains.

    Wolverine2k4!!!

I know wolverine is out their...but he is ignoring his welcome thread
  21. have you ever heard of the cliche "what have you done for me lately?" The twins series was great, but do you expect all of us to not care that we just got swept by our crosstown rivals and lost our division lead? Obviously we shouldn't be jumping off bridges, but this last series warrants anger.
  22. I don't think Brock Berlin is good enough to carry them to the top
