Sophomore? Sophomore year was easier than Junior year has been. The only difficult time in my Junior year was trying to convince my Chemistry class that a loud fart was actually just my shoe. (that incedent taught me not to laugh when I feel bloated)

High School has its ups and downs. 4th quarter of Junior year is a down. A mix of several things... 1- After doing well on my SAT's, It is hard to motivate my self to do homework. 2- It is spring, and I don't want to be in school, yet we are getting a s***load of work. 3- I have several friends who are seniors. Their senioritus rubs off on me. 4- Baseball is making it harder to do homework. Can't wait for senior year

Interesting response. While the average american does not care what the average Iraqi thinks, I sure as hell hope that the Americans running our operations care what they think. The future of Iraq, and the fate of our soldiers in Iraq depends on them deciding that democracy can better their lives. I too despise them for hanging charred american bodies on bridges. No, I do not blame you for hating them. But in saying you despise Iraqi's for showing a lack of respect toward dead Americans, you have rationalized the Iraqi's response to seeing their people degraded. For the record, while I hate the Iraqi's who mutilated the charred carcases of our fallen brothers, we all know that they did it because they detest everything about us. You may not care what the Iraqi's think, but if we continue not caring about them, more Americans will be killed, more bodies will be mutilated, and Iraqi's will glorify their struggle against Americans. The only way to win over the Iraqi people and secure a safe future their, is to win them over with goodwill. The f***ing bastards who degraded the Iraqi prisoners have set us back in that process, and should be severely punished. I would not object to capitol punishment.

I think your average Iraqi could care less about what Powell says. I think they see the pictures and automatically despise America. I can't say I blame them for that.

I like the song, but I am not too familiar with modest mouse. The video is interesting to say the least.

Thats why democracy has to be regulated. If the majority group in a country wants to exterminate the other groups, do you think it should happen? Of course not. Listening to the majority is not necessarily what democracy is about. Like a lot of things in this world, it varies by circumstance. As far as gay marriage goes, it would definately be weird to see gay people married. But I am sure we would get used to it after awhile. There have actually been times where straight and gay people have co-existed without any problems in Europe, maybe gays will gain more acceptance here, I really have no idea. I do pray for the children that will be adopted by gay couples. Not because I think their gay parents pose a threat, but because their childhood will be very tough. I guess I don't object to gay marriages, because it is always disheartening seeing groups get scrutinized in society.

The worst part, is that the ACLU is defending NAMBLA in a murder case pro-bono. ACLU to Defend NAMBLA I understand some civil liberties must be protected, but I don't the ACLU should defend an orginization in a murder case.

Matt Ginter had a nice outing against the 'Stros today. 5.2 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 K. He was a solid starter for Birmingham in 2000. I never really understood moving him to the pen.

I am a Yankee hater, but they have the best security there. At a recent boston-yankee game I attended, I sat 5 rows from the top of the upper deck and a screaming match broke out above me, it looked as if they were going to start throwing punches (how anyone could fight at the top of a very high, and steep upperdeck is beyond me), security ran up there instantly and escorted everyone involved out of the stadium. They also keep alcohol out of the cheap seats (bleachers), and follow it up with thorough pat downs, not just a torso rub. Perhaps the security officials at the cell could use Yankee stadium's staff as a model.

I actually felt that the way everything tied together made the ending good, and it had a good message. Though I can see how you can say it sucked considering water kills them...they could have at least made it some sort of chemical.

Red Sox CF plans to shave for charity

Damon seems to be a perfect fit for that team, Boston has a great bunch of characters. I sat in the right field bleachers for a friday night Yankees-Red Sox game earlier this season (a game the Red Sox won...big). Anyway, the Yankee fans were just ruthless in going after Millar and Damon. Chanting "Kevin Millar is a horses ass, he is the meanest, he likes a lot of penis (yada yada yada)" and for JD, "Your not Jesus! Your not Jesus!" During a meeting on the mound Millar, Damon, and Manny huddled up in Center and then they struck a pose for the bleachers...the fans went ballistic. I thought it was hilarious. -
I guess the best advice is hang in there. I moved to NJ after eighth grade and I thought I would never have friends again. And there were some rough times freshman year because I hadn't made a lot of friends. But now I am nearing the end of my junior year and have plenty of friends. Basically what I did to make friends freshman year was join a lot of clubs, and be as nice as possible to everyone. And once you find a nitch, it is easier to make friends quickly. So just find a group of people who like the same things you do, and never pick on anyone. I can say that in High School the kids who have no friends try to gain friends by being sarcastic pricks, and it doesn't work. Just be a nice person and be yourself. If you don't make friends in high school, then there is always college. In addition to that, you said that God has not answered a prayer in over 3 years. God has strange ways of doing things, and it is impossible to see his plan for you. I prayed every night for my mom to survive her battle with cancer, and she did not. Since then I have battled depression, anxiety, and other forms of mental anguish. At some point everyday I question God's existence, I ask why? or why not? to various things that do or do not happen in my life. But in the end, I know that I am sure God has a plan, and no matter how bad things are, there is some reason this is happening. As long as I keep kicking things will turn out just fine.

Probably one of my favirote baseball players, Outside of the White Sox and Dontrelle Willis. I wish more stories were written about athletes and charities. -
I just talked to my uncle and he said his first accident occurred because he was staring at a girls ass, and he didn't see the car in front of him stop

They are definately in my thoughts and prayers. I can't even imagine how it must feel having a family member murdered in a public way like that.

Anyone have any stories about their first mess up, or accident behind the wheel. I bring this up because I had my first mess up today. I live on a corner and I was looking waving to a neighbor as I was making the turn, and didn't turn enough. I reached to slam on the brake before going up the curb but I accidentaly hit the gas and went up the curb and onto my lawn before I slammed on the brakes. Unfortunately, slamming the brakes ruined all the grass in the area of the accident. My Dad was quite pissed at what he saw. I am not sure yet what affect the incedent had on my suspension. My dad decided against giving me positive reinforcement, and instead told me simply "if there were any kids there, you would have killed them." And we all know saying something like that reassures all young drivers.

I think the only person in the 'other' slot worthy of a vote is Musial. Food for thought: Bonds has a 2 part career, 5-tool Bonds which ended in 1997 or 1998, Steroids Bonds enters the picture in 2000, 2001. A few stats: Bonds 1990: AVG: .301 HR:33 RBI: 114 SB: 52 OPS: .971 Bonds 2002: AVG: .370 HR:46 RBI: 110 SB: 9 OPS: 1.381 Career (not counting 2004): AVG: .297 HR: 658 RBI: 1742 SB: 500 OPS: 1.350 Williams 1941: AVG: .406 HR: 37 RBI: 120 SB: 2 OPS: 1.288 Career: AVG: .344 HR: 521 RBI: 1839 SB: 24 OPS: 1.116 IMO, this one goes to Ted, but Bonds is probably the best athlete in MLB history, and one could argue that steroid bonds is a better hitter than Williams.

A news blurb in the Bergen Record last week mentioned that Moises Alou pees on his hands to make them tough. A follow up over the weekend said that Jorge Posada also admits to doing it, and says it is sort of a tradition for Latin players. In addition to trying to toughen up the hands, they do it when ever they have a cut on their hands. Pretty gross and interesting at the same time.

Game 1 1993 ALCS was probably the worst game... Toronto 7 White Sox 3 I was a couple months away from turning 7, still too young to be able to cope with losing. I shed a few tears. The bright spot was seeing Michael Jordan's car on the way back to our car. MJ had thrown out the first pitch, and retired from the NBA that night. I also almost threw up after game 1 of the ALDS in 2000... I shouldn't be allowed to attend Game 1's anymore.

We wanted ozzie for situations like these where the team seems to fall asleep, lets see how he responds.
