I think it is McNabbs history and versatility that keeps him out there. If this was Quincy Carter, forget about it, he would be benched. But McNabb has played very well the last 3 years and deserves a million chances. Not too mention his versatility makes him a big play threat even when he is playing poorly, not many guys can say that.

My Grandpa was a big Rush fan, listened to him everyday, he would have been heartbroken if he was alive to hear about these drug charges. I agree that he is looking for a ratings boost only because his comment is stupid, if the media wants to see a black quarterback to succeed, then they can look to McNair, Vick, Q.C., Leftwich, Blake, Cullpepper, Brooks, Kordell, granted some of those guys aren't playing well right now, or are hurt, but they are still black qb's. If McNabb was the only one, then maybe I would agree with what Rush said to a certain extent, but with 10 other black qb's around, I think the media could care less how McNabb plays. Now a black pitcher is something different, I myself root for Dontrelle more than any white pitcher, same with Jerome Williams. Making a sport more popular with minorities is very good for the sport, I think that is one reason why the NFL has taken off in recent years.

Well since the good times are over for this years sox, we might as well bring back our favirote Sox memories to lighten the attitude (just in case the braves can't lighten the attitude for us). My favirote memory is when I went to Game 1 of the 1993 playoff series...ok so maybe the game sucked, but I went with My Dad, my bro, and my dad's friend, and for the first time I felt like one of the guys, talking sports with them and sitting way up there in the upperdeck. We saw MJ throw out the first pitch, and then later the guy sitting in front of us (who had a radio) informed us MJ was retiring. The Sox lost , and on the way out we passed MJ's car, and joked that we should stay there, and when MJ arrives I should walk up to him and say "say it ain't so Mike, say it ain't so!" Even though it was a bad night for chicago sports, I will never forget it and i had a lot of fun.

My prayers are with the Pope. I wonder if his job took time off of his life?

I prefer the back room, I think of this board as a place to talk politics and smoke cigars after the game...of course I am not smoking cigars, but it has that feel to it.

I am checking out for a while, Go Braves

They are not attrocious, they are just average. You can't call Hampton, Maddux, Ramirez, and Reynolds attrocious because they all won over 10 games, but they are hittable

DP, ends the threat, 2-1 scrubs going to the bottom of the 3rd.

that is the single most impressive game analysis I have ever read of any game last week's scores were troubling - are MSU and Minnesota that good, or Iowa and PSU that bad? Whenever I attend a game with the kid, I miss everything but the scores since in exchange for him doing everything that I want to do at the Big House (pre and post game band shpows, etc) we don't listen to all sports on the drive home. Besides, no radio station in this state does much of a job of it anyway. But I understand from today's DFP that in those two games, as well as Wisconsin/Illinois, there were questionable calls by the officials. So hard to tell if Iowa and PSU (and Illinois) got jobbed or really derserved to lose. The Iowa game is bigger now that they lost since either they will be raging angry or they will show themselves to have been over rated. I really rather they had won against MSU because I didn't want them mad - but then again, they might be a deflated balloon now. And then Minnesota - kind of the same thing, except they will be playing for the Rose Bowl, the biggest game they have played in decades, since who else do they play than us - if they beat us the rest of their schedulke they coast - and we have a short week to prepare - fly home from Iowa and then fly back to Minnesota with a day less. If Iowa bangs us up, we could be hurting against Minnesota. So the next two are pivotal and they are a set in my mind - go 0-2 and we we lose our New Years day Bowl streak. Go 1-1 and we will have to struggle the rest of the year for the title since MSU may be more of a challenge than we thought and OSU, Purdue, and Illinois won't lie down for us. Go 2-0 and our Sugar Bowl hopes as an 11-1 team survive. I didn't watch much of Iowa MSU, saw some of Minn. PSU, and I saw some of Illionois Wisconsin before getting sucked in by Cal vs USC. I don't think that the refs blew the Minn. PSU game. With the seconds ticking away at the end of the second half PSU had the ball on the Minn. 5, the ball was batted and intercepted by Minn. to end the half. Who knows, maybe they would have scored, but JoePa should not have done a draw play with 20 secs left and no time outs, that was a wasted play, then PSU was rushed from then on. I think PSU is really that bad. Minnessota can not beat Michigan with their defense, and there offense was not spectacular against Penn State, so I am not too worried about that game. I think, like Jason said, injuries are killing Iowa. I have seen Michigan state play a few times this year and they look like they can do some things when Smoker is hot but, as you know, they are weak behind smoker. Iowa will play us tough, afterall, they have a lot to play for, but they are too decimated to blow us out of the water. If we the wolverines play mistake free football, then Michigan should beat these guys. I agree these next two games are huge...GO BLUE
