  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) Sweeney, Marte, and Contreras for Blalock I'd do in a heartbeat. But we still will need one more starter next year (not counting El Dookie) as I will assume that BMAC will win out the #4 starter's slot. If we can find a fifth, we're sitting pretty, Cruddy will be gone (and Blalock plays SOLID at third, so don't give me the defense s***, people), and something tells me that we will still need one more big bat, and we're set. i dont see us getting rid of crede. you can rant and rave all you want about it, but i dont think hes going anywhere. i very well could be wrong, however. but look at it from texas' perspective- why would they get rid of blalock? trade him for crede? theres no way that is happening.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) For the "gamer" this guy was cracked up to be, check out his .161 average with 16 strikeouts in September. He's all talk. Talk with your bat, #8. everyone has bad slumps from time to time. they can last a long time (remember konerko's?). you are probably one of those people who was calling for paulies head earlier this season and is praising him now.
  3. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 06:34 AM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...hitesox-utility Is he talking sense? I think he probably is. sure. sounds good to me.
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) no disrespect to Aaron Rowand, hes my favorite player but hes more dangerous than Everett and Crede put together. idk why ozzie sticks with Everett if the old man cant even run or hit. Why not put Brian Anderson in, ive always said he wont play rookies cuz "they have no experience" wow they cant do worse than what crede and everett are doing, can they? :uhoh yeah crede is really hurting us...especially last night in th 10th when he won the game for us. that was horrible!
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) How can anyone not feel good about a 17 game season and being given a 4.5 game head start, and playing your closest competitor 6 times? This is sooo awesome There isn't a fan on this board that wouldn't have gladly taken this position leaving Spring Training. How about a season where we were in 1st Place the entire time? Starting All-Star Pitcher? Voting in Pods? Possible Rookie of the Year? Soxtalk poster BMAC3520 achieving a career goal. Best record in the AL. It's a new season starting today. I'm going to enjoy every last moment. Get your recorders going. It's the home stretch and it's going to be fun. you make a great point. this season has been nearly a dream so far. but god damn, if we could win the series, it would honestly be one of the sweetest moments of my life (probably for others on here too).
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) The person on the banner right now is bad enough. im sure this will result in may hateful posts, but i dont mind timo.hes not the reason we are playing the way we have been lately, and has won a few for us in the past with clutch hitting.
  7. QUOTE(rcpweiner @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) In conclusion, I'm drunk. i have to agree with you. even if we do choke, i know that it nor anything else will diminish the entensity with which i support the white sox.
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Up is down, down is up. It's all so damn strange. yes. strange...love. as in doctor.
  9. i still believe we are going to the postseason, the end to this year has been pretty damn anticlimactic. and now i feel left out cause the cards clinched today and we still have whatever out magic number is to complete first. what is it anyways...please tell me its under 10. that said, i am confidant we can turn it around. maybe we'll break out of this slump with huge offensive numbers right before the playoffs while we play cleveland. or am i too hopeful...
  10. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Your loss. Playoff baseball, even the chance at it, is something that 22 other teams don't get. perfectly stated.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) From what I've found we're 21-13 when Widger starts behind the plate. Not too shabby. I think i mirror most people's feelings when I say that I have more confidence in AJ than Widge, but the numbers don't like. If we are 21-13 with him behind the plate, I'm not complaining. like=lie
  12. i havent heard. can anyone tell me how much are tickets?
  13. Oh i forgot. buhrle hands down. call it divine intuition.
  14. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Buehrle is that picture on the bottom of your reply (the asian lady) that black widdow who i always see kicking white women's asses on espn2 at 3 am?

  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) I respect what the guy has done for the game. I rooted for him when he was with the Braves and aslong as he isn't in our division, I might as well root for him. are you a sox fan? bottom line, he is on the cubs payroll...hence, NO LOVE.

  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) IMO, The number one obstacle standing in the way of the Sox and their first trip to the World Series in 473240464604 years is Ozzie. dude we have the best record in the american league. who would be a better manager??!? oh, right, lets get gene lamont or better yet jerry manual back. that will give the team a much needed boost.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) I Aaron i hope to god that you are a girl, because i cant tell from your pictures on this forum or anything.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) I'm still pissed we got rid of Shingo for Jenks. No way Shingo would have allowed 3 runs at Boston yesterday. you should get out more. jenks is so much better than shingo its not even funny. what are you smoking?
  21. i'm a law student. i have zero chance of making it to more than one or two games this year.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) We've had plenty of prospects that were supposed to be something special, and they never panned out. Was Jenks in our minor league system for even a season? Cotts? Plenty of our players get overrated on this board, but you can make the argument that enough of us underrate them, too. But some here think that Rowand is the greatest CF in baseball, or that Crede is one of the better 3B's in baseball and that his glove is second to none. yeah, we should revive and re-sign herbert perry.
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) Oh, and Milkman, stay out of this thread. BECAUSE HE STILL SUCKS. man, i hate to be so critical, but what will it take for you all to shut up about trading or getting rid of paulie? its not happening. he is producing and we are winning. let me guess, we should trade him for vinnie castilla. no, jim thome. no todd helton. all those trades are GREAT ideas.
  24. im just waiting for some chicken-little paulie hater to come on here and somehow put a negative spin on him or give some dumb reason why we should trade him for thome or something.
  25. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) That's what the Sox should do the rest of September after tonight. It gives the Sox a better look at McCarthy in advance of next year, and it both rests El Duque and gives him a chance to adapt to the bullpen where he's certainly going to go for the postseason the way Contreras has been pitching. we've had a lot of poor ideas lately regarding the rotation. for god's sake, if it aint broke, dont fix it!!
