  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) He's hitting the buffet before Uribe and Jenks arrive. That bastad!
  2. The way Jason B played last year and this spring makes me wonder why we were forced to surfer through Andy Gonzalez last year.
  3. KW sounds so intelligent when he is not yelling at the fans or the media.
  4. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) I like Bourgeois.. seems like a good guy to have on the big team in the next year or two, kind of a second coming of pablo.. but hopefully better in the field, though I haven't seen any other games this spring... so I could be wrong/off due to small sample size.. where'd he come from anyway? He's not exactly young, so this year is one of his last real shots. But I also like what I see.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) Ha, Fukudome's arm isn't quite as good as advertised. I really think the Cubs expect Ichiro, and they going to get something that is far more disappointing like ... Cory Snyder.
  6. Uribe looks like he put on some weight this off season ... again.
  7. But Ozzie said he wishes it was Ryan Sweeney instead of Anderson.
  8. I recommend the 12 oz curl for forearm and wrist strength.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) I guess Ozzie missed the .308 he hit last spring. You forget, he was trapped in the shadow of GrindErstad last spring, so .400 would have been a slow spring.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) Do tell? Hawk "Brian Anderson having a great spring." Ozzie "Ya, it's about time."
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Well, that's my first half inning listening to Stone/Farmer...and so far, I like what I hear. Too bad you cannot mute Farmer and listen to Stone.
  12. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) I think that just about everyone has said that he is the key to the rotation this year. Not sure who "everyone" is, but I actually think the talk about Jose has been more to assume that he can't possibly be as bad as last year. I am not sure we want to challenge Jose like that after he got knocked around by a Triple A's team today.
  13. A lot of people are worried about Floyd and Danks. I really think the guy we should be worried about is Jose. If he starts getting hit around like a pinata this year, who would replace him in the rotation and how much of a massacre would it take?
  14. Well, I have new respect for Olberman. He tore her a new one, and did it with precision.
  15. Who is this guy wearing Brian Anderson's jersey in the spring training games?
  16. QUOTE(AngelasDaddy0427 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) If she did that then there is no doubt in my mind that she had to of made a back room deal to give McCain the presidency. Because thats the only way in hell that she'd do something that stupid. All she'd do was steal votes from Obama. By her twisted logic, she would do it so she could beat McCain in 2012 (probably an easy target) rather than have to wait for the Obama presidency to end in 2016.
  17. Heard this today, anybody else fear HRC splitting from the party if she does not get the nom and running as a 3rd party candidate, and thus fracturing the party?
  18. QUOTE(lostfan @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Good god, the only other place you see ridiculously polarized arguments like this is with Rex Grossman. +1 for you!
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 05:25 PM) The Rowand from last year? Yes. The Rowand from 04? Yes. The Rowand from 03, 05, and 06? God no. Call me a skeptic, but I think he played way over his head last year. I know I do not subscribe to the grinder/Rowand could walk through a pool of flesh eating fish with meat pants myth, but Rowand does not strike fear in the hearts of pitchers. And with nobody to surround him the the order (ie, Ryan Howard), his stats are going to fall this year.
  20. Hillary will now deny the existance or importance of Wyoming.
  21. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 04:48 PM) Rowand was the primary 5th hitter in Philadelphia last year in an offense that scored 892 runs. He had a monster year, and going from the bandbox in Philly to the cavernous stadium in San Fran will take a ton off of his production...more or less just saying Would you want Rowand as your #3 hitter? Just saying.
  22. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) Why? Admittedly, I dislike BA because he failed in his first 2 opportunities in the big leagues and if BA hit anything in 2006 we might have even made the playoffs. I also like the fact that JB plays IF/OF and has speed which this team lacks.
  23. I wonder when the Texas Caucus result will be finalized. I'm hoping before summer.
  24. When Aaron Rowand bats 3rd for you, your team pretty much Sucks. If Crede goes to SF, two of our bottom of the order hitters from the world series team could possibly be their 3 and 4 hitters.
