White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 02:40 PM) Truly underwhelming performance of GBA, which I'm sick of at baseball games.Yeah, kinda overdoing it. They could just do it on a couple of dates, Memorial Day, Flag Day, the 4th, and on 9/11.

Wow, I just realized with a loss today that the Sox would be in a tie for last place in the Central.

At least we didn't let Ortiz beat us!

QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) Don't those always make the best 4th OF!?!?! Seriously.. Who are they going to put in the pen? Everyone KW has brought up or sent down this year just SUCKS. Other than 05.. has any of his pens been any good? He should've held onto guys like Marte and Riske, and also acquired a vet in the offseason. He gambled with a ton of projects, and all of them failed.

Ozzie pulls Wasser and Logan quick, then leaves Day out there to die. Day took 34 pitches to register one single out - pitiful. You could have a BP pitcher go out there and be more successful.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) Good thing we won Game 1.Woo Hoo, we did not get swept in Beantown. Moral victory!

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Perhaps you can turn this into a drinking game. A shot for every run the bullpen gives up.That would lead to alcohol poisoning.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Hawk was on a Boston radio station the other day, and said the White Sox bullpen was the worst bullpen he's ever seen. I agree.I miss Riske. The Sox have now walked in more runs than they've scored.

This has been a very tough season to watch. What are the odds that Ozzie hangs it after this season (regardless of contract)?
-
White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/20/07 (L)
It is amazing how bad Ozzie handles this staff. That was pitiful. It almost felt like Groundhog day. Didn't he do the same thing to Garland or Danks a couple of weeks ago?

Props to Paulie on breaking out
PK with another HR!

White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/19/07 (W)
AJ (Dice-K) Killer. Only batter with a hit vs Dice-K.
-
White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/19/07 (W)
Nice AB's by Thome, PK, and AJ. 1-0 Good guys. Dice-K already over 30 pitches in the 1st inning.

White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/19/07 (W)
Wow, Dice-K is getting the outside strike.

Ervin Santana optioned to AAA
With Santana's demotion to AAA yesterday, how much is he valued by LA? It seems like his stock has fallen considerably since this offseason. I know his name has been thrown around here a lot in different trade scenarios, but that was before his struggles this year (5-11, 6.28 ERA). After his last bad start it was assumed that he would just lose his spot in the rotation, but obviously that decision was changed pretty quick. For a guy who won 16 games last year, could he just need a change of scenery? Does his demotion change anything? What would be your odds on the Sox pursuing him now (buy low).

Carpenter to undergo Tommy John surgery
Carpenter just signed a 5 yr extension in the offseason for $63.5 million, and he won't be back until after the All-Star break in 2008. So the Cards should be looking for some Starting pitching help for 2008 - Contreras please.

JV + Dice-K = a ton of K's.

Props to Paulie on breaking out
Since June 1st, he has the most HR's in the AL (13) tied with ARod. I also love the fact that he is getting a ton of XBH's during this stretch.

Barry Lamar Bonds
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 03:58 PM) 2HR's and 6 rbi's today. The Giants are headed to Milwaukee for 3 next. I wonder if Bud is booking a flight out of town.. This actually makes his decision to be at the game much easier. Now he can say he was there for one side, and can say he had no choice to be there for the other side.

Gary Sheffield
I love how he also admits that he used the "clear" and the "cream" but didn't know it was steroids. LOL.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) they came out showing some real life. it's a long second half, but this is a great way to get it started! (that, and saying so long to day) If the offense and starters show up like that every game, and the bullpen is at least partially effective, it should be an exciting 2nd half.
