QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Another embarrassing miscue by Podsednik in left field cost his pitcher two runs. Please, get him off this ballclub. Not like it really mattered. Vazquez let up 2 hits in 7.1 IP, then lets up 3 hits and a walk out of the next 5 batters. Why not pull him after there is 2 on and 1 out, or even 3 on and 1 out. Ozzie always waits until the damage is so great that the team has no chance of making a comeback.

Dusty Baker?
-
Jenks with save #30. He is tied for the league lead with Putz, and has the 3rd most saves in the bigs since 2006 (Hoffman, Rodriguez). With the Tigers and Indians losses, the Sox are now 12.5 and 12.0 GB respectively.

Buehrle, Owens, Richar, and Jenks!
-
Fields with a nice barehander to end it. NICE!
-
Wow, that was a sweet battle. Nice job Bobby!

I really hope the Sox can get a SS who can leadoff for 2008. I love Uribe's D, but man, he can sure make some wind against those curveballs low and away.

Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee

Is it possible that the Sox made this move with the intent of resigning Gooch in the offseason? Dump him to a team who already has an established 2B and have a better chance to resign him in the offseason compared to if he went to a team that actually needed a full time 2B. -

With this move, hopefully it signals that the team feels that they are out of it, and need to position themselves better for 2008. Now I would like to see Dye and Contreras moved. Do the Phillies need a RF or SP? -
I would say it ultimately depends on what they expect to make. If Dye and Pods are willing to take a pay cut, I would have no problem resigning both of them, because the savings could be used to shore up the bullpen and SS. Even with their down years (injury/performance), they are not the reason why the Sox are where they are this year.

I really hope a win doesn't make KW think that the Sox still have a shot. The deadline is closing fast.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) think anyone would be interested in Bukvich? Hopefully we can rid ourselves of Jose somehow. On a different forum a brave fan said he'd trade Jo-Jo Reyes and a B prospect for Contreras, and this wasn't some dummy fan either. But then again, that was before tonight's outing. Maybe the Sox can convince a team that Contreras would be a decent reliever, since most playoff teams will only have a 4 man rotation - not many will need another 5th starter. He could be an semi-effective middle/long reliever if all he had to pitch was 1-3 innings.
-
It really sucks to lose games when your offense scores 9. The Sox have lost 5 games since the ASB when they have scored 5 or more. That is sorry. Hopefully this is Conteras' last start in a White Sox uniform. His next start would be July 31st. At this point I would almost give him up for anything just to get rid of his salary for next year.
-
It is not fair to just give the guy two spot starts and then make a complete assessment. Obviously he hasn't pitched nearly as good in the bigs compared to AAA. However, I would let him play out the season as the 5th starter and see how he does on a normal rotation without having to worry about being sent back down after every start. He didn't walk a batter and only allowed 1 HR last night compared to 4 BBs and 4 HRs in his first start, so there was an improvement.

QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) I love how they have started to struggle a bit after they sent Timo down. Even though his replacement is doing well.Don't think that is a coincidence. The Sox had Timo in 2005, the Cards had Pujols on roids in 2006, so the Tigers will need at least Sheffield on The Cream and Rogers with vaseline in 2007.
-
QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) It was quite an exaggeration, but they are very poor.I know, just kidding. Both teams have issues in the pen, but the Tigers don't have Pods to compensate for any shortcomings. They need to bring up Shelton.

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) this is the best day all season! Best Day = Buehrle's No-hitter 2nd Best Day = Molina's first hit

QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Kudos to the White Sox. Even though I have to say..this isn't surprising..the Tigers bullpen is close to, if not as bad as your guys's is. No way, not even close. It is all Pods.

2-0 with Pods in the lineup.

Bobby with 2 saves in a couple of hours, nice work. -
Watch, the Sox will rattle off a huge 2 game winning streak with the return of Podstad.

It's Official: We Are Now Tied for Last Place in the Central
RME JICO replied to LVSoxFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
74-88 in our last 162 is solid. With the remaining SOS, we might not even break 70 wins for the season. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Will Thome ever do anything to help this team in the 9th inning or later?or later?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) Another step upwards in next year's draft! The sky is the limit. Only 5 GB from the 1st pick!
