QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Chicago White Sox Baseball: There is no "I" in team. But there is one in quit. There is also a "u" in suck.

What the Hell with Our Farm System
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Yeah but Minnesota has a history of plugging in guys from their farm system. They had some great players leave in the past few years.Who have they lost that was All-Star caliber in the last 5 years? Ortiz and AJ? The only other bigger names were fringe guys like Stewart, Jones, and Mientkiewicz.

Mark Buehrle and the Cardinals
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) I am just going to go out on a limb, and not try to be mean. Threads Soxtalkers are sick of: 1) Rowand back to the White Sox 2) Buehrle headed to the Cardinals ... am i forgetting any? You could actually make your own thread about that.

What the Hell with Our Farm System
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) See how far Cleveland jumps when their young players start entering Arbitration years.I was thinking the same thing. How much longer will Cleveland and Minnesota be able to keep their payrolls that low once their players hit arbitration?

White Sox Loser
I didn't get to see the entire game. Was there any reason why Thome did not PH for Vazquez in the 7th instead of Cintron with 1 on and 1 out?

God I miss that feeling...

New White Sox Slogan
"The Sox are who we thought they were" "White Sox - We Stink" "Got Runs?"

Turning point of the season
I would say the Podsednik and Thome injuries. The offense took a hit without Podsednik, then dropped off the face of the planet without Thome and has never recovered. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) Bingo. Up until that game, Aardsma had been absolutely amazing. We were about to really get some momentum moving in our favor and then Aardsma lost all his mojo and hasn't been anywhere near the same guy since. But we won the next 2 and 3 out of 4 directly after that game?

Ken Griffey Jr heading to Atlanta?
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:21 AM) They talk about Griffey to Atlanta all the time in the rumor sheets nowadays. Good for Atlanta. Not about him going there, just about him waiving his NTC to go there.

Ken Griffey Jr heading to Atlanta?
Wow, never thought about Atlanta.

ESPN's MLB Player Rankings
There is another thread about it here: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry1446019 Either way it is complete BS.
-
A telling statistic
We own the AL Central with 12 players in the Top 71. You know these ranks are complete BS when Buehrle is ranked 67th in the AL Central behind Crede, Mackowiak, and guys like Alex Gordon who is batting a whopping .187. I guess they don't value no-hitters.

Dye trade rumors heating up
Possibly Billingsley, Betemit and Clark for Dye? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2899790 I know there were people on here that wanted Clark before the season. Seems like a great time to pick him up.

Dye trade rumors heating up
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) I like Dye, but I am not certain he really is in the Sox plans beyond this year. Trade bait is a real possibility I think that might be affecting his play, even though it shouldn't.

Dye trade rumors heating up
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) DH Thome, Jim C Pierzynski, AJ 1B Konerko, Paul 2B Betemit, Wilson 3B Fields, Josh SS Uribe, Juan LF Sweeney, Ryan CF Terrero, Luis RF Suzuki, Ichiro I really like that lineup, but I would think keeping Iguchi would be an easier way to lure Ichiro to Chicago. Can Betemit play SS? Wouldn't that increase the offense even more, and how is his D overall? QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) lol, I had a feeling you were being sarcastic. But it is tough to tell if a person is being sarcastic on a message board. Actually I could hear the sarcasm in the text.

I have a feeling that the Sox will make a move with Dye when Pods returns.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-bbline...1&cset=true Dye for relievers would meet KW's criteria of no prospects.

Players only Team meeting after the game
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) The "clutch" arguments are getting so old. You won't like it, but the stat sheets disagree with you. 7th inning: .200/.467/.500 167 OPS+ 8th inning: .357/.500/.429 158 OPS+ 9th inning:.500/.692/.625 292 OPS+ RISP: .296/.475/.630 188 OPS+ RISP w/2 outs: .250/.667/.500 214 OPS+ Those are some GREAT numbers. This year Jim Thome is one of the most clutch players in the game. The biggest knock on Thome is against LHP, and that is what people seem to bring up. His numbers vs RHP are stellar: .338/.519/.675/1.194 and even though his numbers are pretty bad vs LHP, he still holds a .333 OBP against them.

Players only Team meeting after the game
Hopefully something like this kick starts this team. Anything is worth a shot at this point. You cannot give the same blame to every player, because there are different levels of responsibility within the organization. They all play a part, but it is definitely not even, because some guys are pulling their weight and doing what they are asked to do, while others are not.
