Hehe... got that beat.. Tony Alleyne, the man who turned his apartment into the Star Trek Starship Voyager has gone bankrupt. He started transforming his apartment after his wife left him when he replaced the refrigerator with a 'warp coil'. The apartment is located in Hinckley, Leics, has moulded walls, touch-panel blue lighting, and a command console. He even built a life-size model of the show's transporter room with reshaped windows to look like portholes and set up vertical lights to give the illusion of being beamed up. Tony at one time had the apartment for auction on eBay for $2 million but had no luck in selling. Tony maxed out 14 credit cards accumulating £100,000 in debt. His goal was to lure other Trekkies to pay him to convert their humble abodes. Here's what Tony has to say on his grand plan: But I was wrong and just overstretched. Building it in my apartment was the enjoyable and easy bit. But then I got hooked up with marketing and merchandise people here and in America and it all got out of hand. I'm still proud of what I created but it's been a financial disaster. http://www.uberreview.com/2006/02/m...ng-starship.htm

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) I actually believe that he went there to honor her memory. I actually believe that he didn't have to go. And I actually believe that it was a nice thing to do. Let's just leave it at that. I actually complement the President and I get challenged on it. Sheesh Which is what funerals used to be about... I never understood the need to televise and make a spectical of a wake or funeral.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) He didn't have a choice barring a national emergency or an emergency medical procedure. Could he have sighted personal safety concerns as a reason for not attending..? Moot, but I'm just curious.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Wouldn't this be the same as getting your picture taken while running a red light? I know they send people tickets in the mail. No. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060208/ap_en_...DRrBHNlYwM3NjI- The sheriff's department won't pursue any charges, Deputy Luis Castro said. "Unless a deputy saw the violation, there's nothing we can do," he said. "We don't even know if this took place in our jurisdiction."

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Wait, the ballot was confusing, I voted Yes, but thought that meant no. Where's Governor Bush Valley High School...

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) This is simply political posturing at the worst opportunity. These politicians figure everyone is watching, so why not take the opportunity to criticize Bush? Unless she dedicated her life to opposing Iraq--as she once did the Civil Rights movement--then it doesn't warrant mentioning. Not even one word. Wait until you're on a cable news channel to begin such debate. Even if she did dedicate her life to opposing it... her funeral is not the place to talk s***. JMO.. of course.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Troll lesson #1, when all else fails, change the subject. He lost the arguement on its merits, so now attack the source. It couldn't be anymore transparent, as usual. Lets go back to the part where Juggernaut admits he was wrong for the first time... Oh wait, that isn't going to happen is it? I suppose this is going to be all my fault, isn't it..? Juggs lied, Steff busted him, he flipped out (for the 8,942nd time), and got banned.... but that evil b**** Steff... it's all her fault. :rolly
