QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Ha, I know. I'm just saying that if KW thinks adding Eckstein is going to get this team back to the promise land of the playoffs, then he must have a lot more confidence in Crede's back being healthy and Richar's ability to hit in the majors. I'd much rather go into the season with Uribe at SS if it means upgrading in CF with a legit offensive talent. Also, don't forget that it's very likely Garland is dealt this offseason. I know a lot of us think KW has bigger plans this offseason that what's predicted here. I have no idea what Kenny thinks, and I'm quite positive I said nothing to that effect.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 09:50 AM) So an odd thing happened to some Bekins drivers... We booked the Hogan move from Miami to California. The drivers have been there packing and loading for a couple days and everything is fine. Then jag bag Nick shows up and soon after out of the blue the cops show because he makes an accusation of “stolen jewelry”. The Bekins driver has the presence of mind to say “Hey, I’m here and all my men are here and our equipment. We agree to a search without a warrant.” Lined em all up, did the search and they are clean….turns out the butler did it!! Hulk ends up popping open a few brewskys and shared them with the “Bekins Team”. Wonder if that will make an episode of "Hogan knows best". LOL.. Made TMZ... http://www.tmz.com/2007/08/17/the-hulksters-bling-burgled/

QUOTE(Allsox @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) Hard to believe that Ozzie said that considering his own lifetime OBP was 0.287 If you are ever in a situation to ask him (a signing or at Soxfest) as him about it. He will go on for hours about what a s***ty batter he was.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) I think it would be possibly more since the Feds say if he doesn't accept a plea they're going to file a superceding indictment with more charges Up to 25 years with the additional charges, IIRC. -

QUOTE(shoota @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) With the evidence and informants accumulated, I don't see how Vick wouldn't accept the plea bargain. The plea bargain is for 1 year jail time vs. 5 years if it goes to trial, plus he'd lose out on playing time during the trial. If Vick doesn't take the plea bargain and loses his trial, his NFL career is basically over. If he takes the plea bargain, serves a year in jail and maybe another year on suspension from the NFL, he can salvage his career and cut his prison time by 80%. I don't see how Vick doesn't accept the plea deal. If I were him, I'd have accepted it days before the deadline. Vick claims he is INNOCENT. That's why (according to sources) he is/was hesitant to accept a deal admitting any guilt, which could end his career regardless of how much time he spends in the clink. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) Deadline has passed (3 hours ago), no word yet. I wonder what was decided. They said it could be until Monday that an announcment is made on his decision. -

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 10:03 AM) What did Paul Horning and Webster's TV step dad do to get suspended for a season? Him and a couple others racked up something like $50 million in debt at AC casinos betting on football. -
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) Who is Nick? The son.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) You're the only Sox fan I know who wanted Zambrano to stay with the Cubs and Santana to stay with the Twins. He's not normal..

QUOTE(spataro51 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 08:55 AM) BIg Z is not worth that kind of money. I say he is worth somewhere of Mb 's contract. Somewhere near Mark's contract...? Not even close. Mark dropped trow and reached for his ankles with the Sox deal. He deserved more than he signed for.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 06:56 AM) Yesterday SI was reporting that the Feds told Vick "If you dont take this plea, the superceding indictment is coming down", but they seem to have backed off that right now. Does anyone believe that Vick will be banned for life from the NFL? I heard that also. I don't know if he will be, but I hope he will be. -

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 12:07 AM) The lying SOB will plea Friday f*** Vick! Where did you hear this?? All morning I've been hearing that his lawyers are urging him to, but he's not sure "it's the right thing to do". -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 03:12 PM) Drunk? Dry since December, thank you very much. Seriously, the Air show is fun. Loosen up. There's a lot of other things to be pissed at the g'ment for wasting money on.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) No, no, I'm not sure I'm one to b**** about taxes or the size of taxes, but I have an issue with the government spending thousands of dollars to find out why bugs have sex or to put on a stupid air show. Better than thousands on toilet seats and hammers. At least the former are somewhat entertaining.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) Yeah, it's practice for Air Show. A friend said, "Must be Blue Angels" but not this year. They do every other year. I wish I worked downtown this time of year. Hopefully the weather doesn't ruin the weekend.

QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) Some fans handle the pressure of a pennant race better than others. They are one game out with roughly 45 games to go. Hardly a time for panic. Behind us for the 13 inning game last week there was a guy from Cleveland who just about had a stroke when Uribe hit that ball. Seriously I was this/cose to calling for security.
